I got and oil change among other thing less then 3 months ago and now my engine is over heating and my oil gage says 0%. this is an issue because after I got th oil change I noticed the oil light was not reset and when I asked Rene the manager I guess he said I would have to go to a wrangler dealership to reset it but they for sure did and oil change and yes I was charged for and no my new mechanic says an oil change was never done. I brought my car into this location today I had a friend call ( who is White) spoke with John he said bring it in. I get there John says to me the tire not the problem it's me so I laugh it off still in front waiting after about 10 minutes he says to me your going be here all day. Mean time I say to him so your going to overlook me. Now my friend who is WHITE hears what's going on comes to the front. Now John says bring to bay #1 mine you I been standing there.... ***Update 3*** This morning I emailed and sent messages to every social media account and email address I could find. Pep Boys reached out on Instagram and said they updated my file and I should hear from someone soon. I did hear from the local field manager. We had a conversation about what took place. He said he would process my refund and told me to contact him directly if it didn't happen within two weeks. I hope it goes through and this finally has a resolution. ***Update 2*** It has been over a month, and I am still waiting to be contacted. The store manager called to try to "explain the repair", but I told him I didn't agree and want a refund. He said he would see what he can do. He called back to said he put in a claim, and said I should hear from someone about it. I did hear from a person at the corporate office (I believe) and she said simply asked if I wanted a refund. I replied yes. She said I should hear from someone by the end of the week. I'm still waiting for a call. It has been over a month, and I still have not talked to anyone about a refund. ***Update*** I have called and emailed multiple times and was assured by the people I spoke to that the complaint was "elevated" and I should be hearing from someone soon. Over 2 weeks later, and no one has called. I was originally told that the field manager had to hear from the store manager. On my last call, I was told that the store manager filed his report on Feb. 21. So, I'm not sure what the hold up is. I did file a complaint with the state attorney general's office, and I am looking into filing at small claims court if necessary. I took my car to the Pep Boys on Scenic Hwy. in Lawrenceville, GA because it was making a thumping sound in the rear of the car when driving over bumps. I told the manager that the sound was coming from the back of the car and I thought it was a blown shock or something was loose. He called and said that they checked the rear shocks and suspension and they were fine. He said his mechanic found an issue in the front of the car that needed fixed but they would have to order parts. I said it was a lot of money, but I was willing to do it if it fixed the issue. When the parts came in, I brought it back and drove with the mechanic. He asked me to confirm the sound, and I said I hear the thumping sound in the back. He said no, what you are hearing is in the front. So, I trusted them and went ahead with the repairs. I picked the car up and within 2 minutes of driving the car, I could tell it was not fixed. I brought the car back and they said they would take care of it. Later they called and said I had a blown left shock that needed replaced. I went to pick my car up because I didn't want to give them any more money. When I went to get my car, I asked for the control arms that they replaced. The parts looked almost new, so I took them with me. They claimed that the control arms were also an issue. I paid $1300 for them to not fix the original issue I brought it in for, then they wanted another $370 to replace the shock. I took my Explorer to a local Ford dealership. They diagnosed the shock issue and replaced my left rear shock. They also said there was nothing wrong with the control arms and the felt like Pep Boys' repair was done in error. I called the 800 number on Friday 2/16. I called with additional information on Monday and was told I would hear back in 24 - 48 hours. Here we are over a week later from my original call, and I still haven't heard from anyone. I called a few other times, and I was assured someone would call me. I'm still waiting on the call. I then emailed the pep social email. I was told I would receive a call, but I'm still waiting. read more

This team is amazing, this was my second time bringing my 2006 GMC Envoy in for a different reason. This time around was my Service engine light that came on and to my surprise on a Saturday morning. I had my vehicle back within the same day within the afternoon. These guys are great at what they do,Don't underestimate them !! Sooo. I guess I should tell my story. I have been without a car for almost 2 weeks. I thought all I needed was a new belt? SMH spent over 200 and now I need over a thousand dollars worth of work done. On top of all of this. Pep boys has been calling me to come back to put in an air filter that I apparently needed that they allegedly ordered Idk maybe they thought I would come back to them so they could fix whatever they screwed up. read more

I purchased a service agreement and warranty with my car last year, and this location was one of the approved places to go. I scheduled it for an oil change and transmission diagnostic for this past Friday. I dropped it off at 9AM with the intention of leaving it for the day. By 6:30, I had not heard back. They were finished with it, but had not bothered to call me. They were unable to complete the diagnostic, which I understand can happen. My gripe was they didn't reach out to me. How long were they going to keep my car without telling me to come get it? So I picked it up the next morning, and as I was driving it, noticed that the change oil light was still on. I called, and FINALLY after literally 3 phone calls and nearly 30 minutes on hold was told that they did NOT do the oil change. But nobody communicated this to me, so I could have continued to drive around with a car that needed the oil changed causing engine damage. When I FINALLY got someone to tell me they hadn't done the oil change, they then proceeded to tell me that because they couldn't complete the diagnostic service, they-and I quote-"wouldn't be touching my vehicle". So they're refusing to honor my service agreement. So I have a service agreement that I paid for that is useless. AND...in order to take it to the dealership-which they told me I would have to do-the warranty provider requires them to initiate the claim and attest that they cannot provide the service. Went here after dreadful service at the Snellville pep boys. I was mailed a coupon and thought it might be worth going to a different store, and it definitely was! The managers were patient and friendly. He knew I was on a budget, so he explained my pricing options clearly to me. Even told me about a rebate and was fine to let me use a coupon (the snellville pep boys always rolled their eyes with anything surrounding budget). He gave me a heads up on future work that would need to be done, but explained it wasn't urgent. I very much appreciate the friendly and professional attitude at this branch and I will definitely be returning here. read more

We needed 4 new tires. We shopped around and Pep Boys had the lowest price. We made an appointment online. They were ready for us and got us taken care of right away. Super friendly. No hidden costs. We were there about an hour and 15 minutes. Will definitely go there again. read more

I went to get a free check engine light pull. The guys acted like they did not want to help me. The guy who did it hooked up the machine pulled the code and walked back inside. I thought maybe he went inside to do print out but when I went inside he looked as if he had no intention of coming back out. The manager told me all the do is pull the code and you look it up yourself, which I was fine with if they actually gave it to me. The other guy said the code fast while looking at his phone, as if I was bothering him. I had to ask him to write it down for me. I understand that service is free but when I get the problem fixed it will not be here. read more

Made an appointment Sunday for an oil change with tire rotation on Wednesday. I asked how long it will take, I was told one hour. I told them I need it finished on time because I'm coming on my lunch break. Came on Wednesday, an hour later I came back. My car just got pulled into the bay. Guy comes out and I asked him what did they do in the past hour. They said they got my tires rotated. I said I need to get back to work. I was furious. I walked to waiting area and guess what, they were rotating the tires, he lied, they did nothing to my car in the past hour. Don't make any promises to get business and not follow through. Never coming here again. Going back to my dealership. Not recommending this pep boys location to anyone. Despite its cheap price, you'll be waiting forever. read more
