We have eaten a taco sushi for years, but the Aiken location has been slipping recently. Tonight we went for dinner and it was one thing after another - we were dining in but they didn't have enough clean silverware so they gave us plastic wear, waitress did not refill water glasses, queso tasted like dirt and the chips it was served with were burned and over salted, the sushi was not as good as It usually is and our meals came out a different times making it hard to eat dinner as a family. The cost was about $100 for two children's meals, two adult males, and an appetizer. I would recommend going to the Evans location where the Augusta location instead. read more

I have to say, we did Takosushi multiple times, we saw the fresh ingredients, BUT when you put vinegar on something as subtle as Sushi, you just ruined it. They were out of 3 drinks on the cocktail menu and then the waitress said that the bartender could not make a vodka gimlet or a cosmopolitan - but he figured it out. Went to Taco Sushi in Aiken, SC last night. I was disturbed when I paid my bill, with cash, and the waitress chose to round up and keep .59 cents. It threw me - so I at first thought it was a mistake and inquired - and my answer was - well we round up. I said, I did not agree to that and I want my .59 cents. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH ALL THE EXTRA MONEY YOU GET FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS. What about giving the exact change or hey how about rounding it down. Nowhere was this written - it is lunacy - When you pay with your bill via credit card - you have no problem laying out the tipping percentage and 20% is always the first line. I WAS ROBBED but I confronted the thief. I worked for lawyers & know this is not legal - there was not full disclosure - it was hidden, deceitful and I consider this to be robbery. I did tell the waitress that if this is in fact a policy, it needs to be in writing and spoken about before you take someone's money. This review is not about the food it's I about the audacity of Taco Sushi to think this is ok - IT IS NOT. It is not about the money - it's the principal and respect of this issue (or shall I say disrespect). I will say that since the new owners took over - it has gone way downhill with regards to the quality of the food. Very disappointing on every level. Improvements need to be made in every way. My wife and I had lunch at Tacoshushi a few days ago. It was my first time there and I had heard good and not so good things about it. Usually, I consider that to be a "somewhat red" flag, and suspect consistency problems. I was wrong. Tacoshushi offers such a wide variety of East and West flavors that I can see initially ordering something you don't like. At the same time, I would in this instance recommend giving it another try. I can't imagine not being able to find something you like. I wasn't very hungry so I just ordered the Sumo soup. It was more than I expected in both taste and volume. It has a hearty broth base, which alone would be satisfying. Add to that fresh crisp onions, yellow squash, carrots and more. Layer into that shrimp, salmon,tofu, chicken, and the biggest tastiest clams, you have a meal that will satisfy any appetite. It's hard to describe eating this soup. It has an overall great taste and texture. With the variety of tid bits, you also get snippets of all those other flavors in each bite. The next bite being different but just as good as the last. That having been said, I can understand how some people would not be as appreciative of the complexity of this soup. My wife had some sort of sushi. I'm not a sushi guy. I always say my favorite way to prepare sushi is to roll it in cornmeal and fry it in peanut oil. So in the case of their sushi, I freely admit I'm not a good source. However, looking around at the number of people who were enjoying their sushi, the only conclusion one can draw is that it's MY problem. Service was great, the and customers alike were very friendly. The place is very clean, with a nice "feel" to it . I strongly recommend trying this place at least twice. My only rub is the prices. They are a bit high. But, to be perfectly honest, for the quality of the ingredients and their preparation it's money well spent. My wife declared it a keeper. If for no other reason than happy wife, happy life I'll give this place my first Arnold "I'll be back" award. read more

It took 15 minutes to get a coke and water bc they had no clean glasses and the waitresses were having to wash them instead of attending their tables. The manager was too busy hanging on the hostess stand and going to the bar complaining about her job and everything else in her life than helping out washing the glasses so her waitresses could attend their customers.
