I had another wonderful lunch here with a friend today. I think this place is so lovely inside and the service is really great. The dedication precision and craft which these bites are prepared is delicious! All ingredients are so fresh and the presentation is beautiful. Today we enjoyed the tempura shrimp, some miso soup, and a Phoenix roll. I always want to get more, but in full from the generosity of the dishes. I was so excited to see the inside it was amazing well thought out comfortable seating and the staff was very kind. The cocktails menu was super fun clearly bar dynamic in clever names and mixes. We stuck to iced tea and diet pop. I'm sad to say I had to wait unusually long for my bowl of ramen. The broth was delicious and yet the noodles tasted burnt. I did let them know. The staff was kind and cheerful when they checked on my order. My husband had yakisoba. The sauce tasted like catsup. Not good. Sadly at a local store we were told by a checker that she was told not to bother going because the food was disappointing. I believe everyone deserves a chance and we are so hard on restaurants I would not want to discourage all the hard work they invested it's clear they desired to do a good job. My hope is that this would motivate the owners to keep going and reevaluate their menu. read more

We thought we'd have to order a special kind of dish to get the cool tower and dry ice presentation, but that's just how they serve multiple rolls. We placed an order for pick up. They said 30 minutes for pickup. When we got there to pick up food it took another 30 minutes for the order to be ready. They didn't apologize, they didn't offer a discount, they didn't offer water while waiting, nothing. The food is good but the service is lacking. read more

Their sushi is excellent, and their presentation is beautiful! We had a variety of rolls, sashimi, nigiri, miso soup, and seaweed salad. Service was quick and friendly. My only suggestion is we ordered the Mystery Box, which contains 9 different types of sushi, chef's choice (but it's your choice of all sashimi, all nigiri, or a combo), and it would be helpful if the server either explained what each fish was when they bring it to you, or if they could write it down on a small piece of paper for you to reference (I realize the latter would be more time consuming, and just a simple verbal explanation would be helpful). Perhaps that's the ultimate "mystery" of the mystery box? I'm sure if we had asked for a description of what they brought us in the Mystery Box they would have told us, but they were busy so we didn't want to call our server back to ask. Or perhaps they normally do explain what's in it, but since they were busy they just forgot. Either way, it was all delicious. read more

Super cute area and funnily decorated with Labubus. We ordered enough sushi to feed an army and they were pretty prompt with it. I am low-histamine and can't have soy and none of their rolls come with sauce on top, which was super nice (they do offer sauce on the side). Service was fairly quick and the place looked very clean. Most importantly the fish-to-rice ratio was stellar AND most rolls were under $15. Amazing. read more

I have now ate here at least eight times. The quality of the fish is excellent. The Sushi Chefs are Master-Class Artisans. The restaurant is always super clean and it has a great atmosphere. Make the drive from Portland and Vancouver. Best sushi around and Washougal is at the base of the Gorge. Enjoy amazing food and go to the waterfront or venture into the CRG. update: the first time we went in was a sunday. sunday = vegetarian ramen broth was tasty and amazing. second time was a tuesday. tuesday = this time both my fiance and i got ramen; miso and vegetarian. sadly, this time the broth for both tasted like water. and the pork in my miso soup was way too burnt. so maybe there was a different chef making the ramen? maybe the main ramen chef was having a bad day? whatever the reason, i may have spoken too soon about how good the ramen is. atm, it's inconsistent. so to the chefs; pls taste every broth to make sure it doesn't taste like water :( p.s. the lion king roll & vegetarian tempura we got on tuesday was tasty and delicious! so we will def be back for it. - - - came for the sushi, stayed for the ramen the sushi was fresh, the rice perfectly cooked, and the interior gave real japanese vibes. we loved the cool presentation--and the capital customer service didn't go unnoticed. my fiancé and i are excited to officially call this our local spot. read more

Baked muscle was not hot, so they didn't taste good/fresh. The noodle tasted okay but was lukewarm. Lion king sushi was not warm (it should've been warm and melt in your mouth). This restaurant is so good! The food is yummy, the restaurant is clean, they play good music(the Beatles) and they are just super friendly and professional. Highly recommend! Excellent new Japanese restaurant in Washougal. As avid Japanese food fans we were happy to see a new venue close by. Nice decor but the lighting is much too bright. Our food was outstanding though. We tried the Chicken Karaage and it was wonderful. Lightly breaded, full of flavor and tasty dipping sauce. Spicy Tuna Roll was sublime and the Vegetable Tempura did not disappoint. The same could not be said for the so called Spicy Miso Ramen. It was quite dull. Service was great and our overall experience was delightful. Sashimi still halfway frozen, sushi tasted not fresh, all our bowls of ramen was very off, chasu don was not edible with rock hard chewy pieces of old pork. I have lived in Japan and I am not a restaurant person. I make everything from scratch at home. And this place was delicious! I specifically wanted food without MSG and there is no MSG in their miso soup. It was the real deal with Wakame and tofu and green onions. We ordered their California rolls and their cooked eel (since I'm avoiding raw fish for gut health reasons). I requested that they consider having authentic crab as it was imitation, but it was still absolutely delicious and the ginger was real. My kids had the red bean taro rice ball ice cream at the end and they loved it. They had a table setting for us all set before we even arrived since we had called to check if they have spaces. We were warmly greeted. The outdoor seating is marvelous. We absolutely love the fresh air and the quaint little town feel. Super friendly, helpful kind servers. read more
