    Chicken Yakisoba

Hidden gem in Washougal! Enjoyed their Chicken Yakisoba for dinner. It includes a side of steamed rice along with some vegetables which were cooked perfectly. The staff always gives you extra teriyaki sauce with orders to add if you'd like. Found it to be full of flavour and not greasy. For only $7.99, you get a LOT of food! I've also tried their Gyozas and Chicken Katsu which are also wonderful. Parking is available on site as well. Will be returning!

    Chicken and beef plate

While traveling through Washington, we stopped by this place to grab a meal. We were pleasantly surprised by the large portion of food for the price. I got the beef and chicken combo plate and it was excellent. Service was good and the food came out pretty quickly. The restaurant was also very clean. I would definitely come here again!

**update** So it's been two years and I still eat here often but recently I've gotten my meal and had it be completely horrible. It's happened more than once where the chicken in the General Taos is super soggy (like how when you put your leftovers in the fridge and warm it up the next day soggy) and SO SO SO spicy it burns your mouth and I like spicy food. I'm not sure what is going on. The chicken teriyaki is still solid but the other dishes can be a miss. It's been twice now that I've gotten it to go and had to toss it out.

    Overcooked gyoza

How does this place have good reviews??? I feel like I would have been better off throwing my money out the car window on the way there and saved myself the trouble. Gyoza was overcooked and hard. Beef teriyaki hardly had any beef! At least 75% veggies. And the beef was so tough we could barely chew it. The General Taos chicken was even worse! I have little doubt it was prepared in a microwave. It was soggy and strange. Almost no flavor. And it had corn, carrots, and peas! I've never had it with those from anywhere else. Awful, awful, awful. Time to go figure out what we're actually going to do for dinner tonight...

Best Ichi around. The food is always amazing and fresh! Great portion sizes. Sadly, they are only open Monday through Friday.

Ichi is always a go to for me if I have time. Very consistent teriyaki chicken and the salad and soup never disappoint.

The hours are wrong. They close at 8:00pm every night. But the food is good when you can get it.

But it was usually too early to too late, or I was in too big a hurry. On this opportune visit it was lunch time and finally I had a chance to finally try Yu's Garden. The lunch menu was both varied and fairly priced. I tried the General Tsao's lunch with hot and sour soup. There was a lady handling the serving duties and she was excellent handling the few of us who were seated in the dining area. I assume someone else handled the lounge as several people entered that as I ate lunch. The soup was quite good, not too peppery but loads of flavor. The General Tsao was a very good representation of American Chinese food. The flavors really popped and there was quite enough to fill up even me. All in all, I really enjoyed Yu's even though it is decidedly in need of an interior upgrade. Skip the truck stop food and give Yu's Garden a try.

I was a little put off from the second we walked in; no employee present for several minutes, no one sitting down, and sketchy people going to the lounge. The lighting was dark, surfaces dirty, and I would not have felt comfortable dining in with my family. The food itself was okay...whereas I thought it was average and would entertain getting takeout again, the rest of them unanimously gave it a 'thumbs-down'. Probably won't be back.

Our most recent curry had only about five pieces of chicken, which was surprising. I'm not sure if this is because we ordered it to-go, but either way, it didn't feel like the same value we've experienced in the past. For now, we're going to pause on returning and try some other spots in the neighborhood instead. Hopefully this is just a temporary hiccup, because the flavors are still there

In fact, a majority of dishes I see at a Thai restaurant back home weren't on the menu. And they had an odd plate of sweet and sour anything. So they have that in Thai? I ended up getting the pad Thai. It was safe for me. I wasn't so sure about this salmon curry or avocado with any curry?!? This place seems to be a mix of Chinese and some Thai cuisine. I mean it's a fusion I have never seen. Overall three stars. The food was ok and the service fine. Plenty of seating and very clean. I'm not so sure what I paid for since we were a large party but everyone left happy. They just don't know what they're missing. Evil Jungle baby.

Because I will be back. We started off strong with a table full of appetizers. It was one of those "everyone grab something" moments, and listen... I had been up since 6am, starving, and completely forgot to take pictures until it was basically too late. But trust me, that alone should tell you how good it was. Crab puffs? Gone. Creamy, crispy perfection. Fried spring rolls? Devoured without hesitation. But that salt and pepper shrimp?? LISTEN. It tasted like somebody's grandma was in the back cooking with love. I could've eaten that as my full meal 10 times over and still asked for more. Then came the angel wings... OMG. At this point I was already full, borderline mad about it, because I wanted to keep eating. And I'm not usually a leftovers person....but these? Plus that one last shrimp sitting there? Oh no... they came home with me. And the best part? EVERYONE loved their food. No misses at the table. If you're debating, don't. Just go. And go hungry.
