The service was top notch from start to finish. This restaurant has an amazing view of the valley and I would recommend making a reservation for sunset. The prices are expensive so you are paying for the location. The food was good, the paella and manchego mashed potatoes were the stars of our dinner tonight.

When you walk into Talavera, the expectation is simple: world-class dining. This is the Four Seasons flagship steakhouse, a place with sweeping desert views, a history of being the culinary jewel of Troon North, and a reputation that stretches far beyond Scottsdale. But here's the thing: at this level, details matter. The table we were seated at? Chipped and unpolished. Not the end of the world in a diner off Route 66, but in a restaurant where entrées climb into the stratosphere, it's a crack in the façade that shouldn't exist. The Food (the redemption): * The paella was the best I've ever had in my life. Rich, saffron-soaked rice, seafood cooked to perfection, layered like poetry in a pan. Worth the trip alone. * The mashed potatoes? Pure velvet. Creamy, buttery, comfort food weaponized for fine dining. * The octopus was delicate, tender, and balanced -- no chewiness, no "what am I eating?" Just pure flavor. * Even the bread was a highlight -- warm, fresh, with that perfect crust-to-soft-center ratio that says someone still cares in the back of the house. The Service... Friendly, attentive, but slow. Smiles and warmth go a long way, but at this tier, pacing is everything. A luxury dinner should glide, not stall. You can't call yourself Four Seasons when the table looks like it came from Goodwill. Paella of the gods, table of the garage sale. Talavera's kitchen is extraordinary, delivering food that sings, but the cracks in service and presentation chip away at the illusion of perfection. At this caliber, the Four Seasons name sets the bar high -- and right now, Talavera's food clears it beautifully, but the details drag it back down.

Love this place for its view! I think just for the view and its calm vibe, I would definitely come back! This place is in the four seasons resort, and had a dinner here when we stayed at the resort. People were friendly, yet we were barely asked if we needed anything and I think we waited very long time for getting our food and our second drink, like a lot longer than usual from other places. Bruschetta with jamon was good, jamon was so good. Steak was actually ok, it was big but just ok. I think some of their dishes are good and some are just ok, yet I'd definitely come here again because of the view!

We ate here twice during our stay and loved both meals. We sat on the patio and had amazing sunset views both nights, which is where I would absolutely recommend you try to sit. Getting right to it, I haven't had a steak like this in a very, very long time. I splurged on the ribeye and it was so perfectly medium rare, tender, and well seasoned I didn't even bother with either of the sauces it came with. Paired with the mushrooms...wow. If you like steak, a steak is a must. We tried several apps over both visits and the octopus, ensalada, and pan con tomato all stand out. I also really enjoyed their signature Manhattan - it's a little different (darker) than what you'd usually get but if you like them, get this one. For other mains we tried both fish dishes, and on the second night we got the paella since everyone else seemed to be getting it. Well, it's a signature dish for a reason. Not cheap - but A+ service, awesome food, and a great view. Get. The. Steak.

Went for holiday high tea on January 1. It was cold and rainy so we were seated inside where the view is limited. It's a pretty venue but the food and service were exceptionally poor. We received old and dried out pastries and were limited to one each, meaning our totals were fewer than 10 bites for over $100 per setting. Even asked for another single bite and was denied. Waited and waited....and waited to be served but boy were they quick with the bill. To top it off, I left my jacket behind and called one hour later to have them put it aside. It was a NICE jacket. Never got it back so someone stole it.

The ribeye was sooo good. It literally melted in your mouth.

It was such a beautiful place and the servers were amazing. The food was good and they even offer blankets if you sit outside.

VEGAN REVIEW Tell me why this Spanish steakhouse has the most amazing vegan food?!?!? Split plates with my friend: roasted heirloom carrots, mushroom and fava beans, vegan paella. All the sauces & flavors were incredible! Beautiful plating. Great wine options. The service is awesome. Knowledgeable, helpful, attentive without bing annoying. Very dark steakhouse vibes. Great AC!

Stayed at the Four Seasons and had dinner here. Besides being sat at a dirty table (I take clean tables very seriously) we had an excellent time! Wait staff was on point and food was absolutely delicious! The tomahawk was perfectly cooked and the Talavera Paella was amazing. It looked like a small portion but was actually perfect. Pro Tip- you MUST order the chocolate wheel. That dessert is one of my favorite desserts ever!! 5/5 stars You can tell this staff is very professional and take their jobs seriously. I had so much respect for their hard work, would definitely come back again. Thank you, Team Talavera!!

The strawberry tuna appetizer dish is one of the best dishes I have ever had. Better than a lot of sushi restaurants. Everything is delicious. Great atmosphere for a romantic dinner. Service is fast and waiter is very friendly.

another amazing and memorable dinner at the Talavera! had to get the Croquetas de Jamón again as they are just so delicious and rich. tried both salads offered and i couldn't choose which one was my favorite. one was on a bed of pureed butternut squash which was both savory & light and refreshing with the pomegranate. the other rich in whipped goat cheese, both winners! tried the Paella Talavera and had a spiritual experience. my mouth was dancing in flavors and spices. soo good and my favorite thing i've had here so far! saved room for their unique cheesecake and it was also a hit. i could come for just this dessert and their coffee! great service always. sat indoors this time and enjoyed the dim lit ambiance & art.

    Seafood Paella

Great vibe and food! I came here for dinner and what a view and menu. I ordered the seafood paella and it was the best I have ever had. So delicious and you get a bit of every seafood in it! Overall a great meal and dinner. Would definitely recommend and come back!

You know you are in for a true fine dining experience. We started off with some cocktails and I was very impressed with the clear ice cube in my Smokey Old Fashioned as it was branded with the "Toro" logo. It was so smooth and probably the best Old Fashioned I ever had, so I had 3 more! My wife throughly enjoyed her Espresso Martinis also. I started off with the Grilled Octopus and nearly cried because it was so good. This is a food favorite of mine and although I love the flavors, most restaurants over cook it and you need to cut it with a steak knife. Not this dish, no knife necessary, your fork will do. So tender, so flavorful, so amazingly delicious. The Mrs. ordered the crispy calamari and was thoroughly impressed as the texture was what fresh calamari should be and not the rubbery texture you get from 8 out of 10 other places. Seasoned to perfection with spices but not overly spicy. My wife can't bear spicy anymore , but she really enjoyed it. I finished it for her of course, because she always remembers to leave room for desert and never finishes anything. And I'm glad because I always get to taste her meals too. It's a win-win for me! I then had an off-the-hook Ceviches that rivaled my own. I am also a part-time cook and also wrote a cookbook. Ceviche is a particular dish that I compare to other restaurants and until now, never found another place that compares to mine. Toro doesn't disappoint my friends. Now for the entrée, Lomo Saltado for myself and a medium rare Ribeye for the Mrs. The Lomo Saltado was beef tenderloin on creamy rice, crispy potato, heirloom tomato, bell peppers, Rocoto Aioli and a Chifa Soy Sauce. It was mouth watering. The beef tenderloin was cooked a little on the well done side, but my bad for not specifying to cook it medium rare. It was still amazing and not a big enough deal to even mention it in the review, but I just want you to specify your preference when you order yours. My wife had the 14 Oz. Ribeye, medium rare ( she thought it was also medium but I found it to be medium rare myself) it was soooo good. She had a side dish of Crispy Brussels sprouts that were unworldy. We never had Brussels sprouts that good, it must be the sherry vinagrette and cotija cheese. Unreal. I had a side of shishito peppers that made my heart happy. My favorite peppers are not usually available everywhere so it was a real bonus to the meal. Desert, well the desert was worth the wait. We both ordered the Ube Basque Cheesecake. It is a dark purple colored slice of heaven with masa crumble, Yuzu espuma and coconut jam. The presentation was stunning. We even enjoyed espresso with sambucca to finish our dining experience. How many places offer espresso on their menu just to inform you the espresso machine isn't working? Just another bonus for us. Price wise, what you would expect for a high-end restaurant in a beautiful resort area of Scottsdale, no sticker shock there, but still, I'd save this place as a never can fail go to for a first date, anniversary, job promotion, marriage proposal, special occasion restaurant. They also do breakfast, brunch, lunch and Happy Hour. I hope you get to experience this place at least once. Put it on your bucket list, you'll be glad you did!

Also the complementary cheese bread was good, also the ginger shots. We got the churrasco, it had alittle bit of everything. Wish the meat was cooked alittle bit more cause it looked raw. The name really fits because there are several different seating areas, including cozy groupings with soft couches and chairs, traditional dining tables, bar seating and an outdoor patio. There is also a separate larger room that looked great for groups. It's nice enough for a fun night out or date night, but the overall feel is relaxed and casual, so you definitely don't need to dress up. We went for a girls' Happy Hour, specifically because the Wine Wall sounded like so much fun, but one of the things I really liked about The Living Room is that you absolutely don't have to be a wine drinker to enjoy it. They also have a reasonable, well rounded menu and signature drinks. Happy Hour is weekdays from 3-6 PM. The menu offers $2 off wines by the glass, draft beers, signature and well cocktails, as well as the bruschetta and flatbreads. So one person could come for wine and bruschetta, and someone else could enjoy a beer with flatbread, or have something from the regular menu. There are salads, soups, sandwiches, sushi rolls, food from the grillI, and starters. We first shared the Artichoke Spinach Dip. I feel like the dip is a portion for one, as you can see in my photo; it's in a small ramekin, but the chips are fantastic and sharable. I had the "fried rice with steak, chicken and shrimp topped with a fried egg." The "steak" was tiny little pieces, not slices, but the portion of fried rice was very generous and filling. It's a "Starter" that was a "meal" for me. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the food prices are. Now for the Wine Wall, because this is such a fun part of the experience! You're given a Tasting Card that works somewhat like a debit card for the Wine Wall. You tap the card at the WineStation, choose the wine you want and then select a 1 oz, 3 oz or 6 oz pour. Each wine and pour size has its own price, and every selection is added to your Tasting Card. At the end, the accumulated amount is transferred to your restaurant check as one "Wine Wall" charge. Our server was wonderful about showing us how everything worked. He walked us over to the Wine Wall, explained the system and dispensed our first glasses for us. Later, when he asked if we wanted more, my friend ordered another 3 oz Silver Oak and he brought it right to our table, so we didn't even have to get up again. If the Wine Wall is one of the main reasons for your visit, there are couches and tables right by it. You might want to choose that area if you plan on trying 1 oz. tastes of several wines. We enjoyed two excellent Cabernets from the Wine Wall: Caymus and Silver Oak. I had a 3 oz Caymus, a 3 oz Silver Oak, and my friend had a 6 oz Caymus and 3 oz Silver Oak. Our total Wine Wall charge was $83. We're already looking forward to returning for what will feel like a different experience by having white wine and sushi outdoors on a cool evening. I could definitely see The Living Room becoming an easy choice for a casual Happy Hour or dinner with friends.
