The food here is amazing. It's woman and POC owned so definitely go support this place. Their lunch special is literally cheap (only 12 bucks). You get a great quantity of food. The restaurant isn't really a sit and eat restaurant. It's more of a to go restaurant. But it's great for lunch and amazing food.

So we eat out a lot! I love good food and I appreciate great service. I believe that when the food is not cooked properly, the chef and business owner should make it right. Talay Thai Restaurant on Staten Island misses the mark for service as well as food quality. So lunch since delivery was $20.(we are literally 5 min away from our house) So drove over to pick up our lunch. Our food tasted like coconut milk and was bland as bland could be. We called and they told us that they would send us spices to mix in the food but was not willing to make it right. Are you joking? $50.00 and they could care less. (And $10.00 for sticky rice???? Really????) So much for quality control. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! This was the worst experience that I have had at any Thai restaurant. We ended up tossing our meals with great disappointment. I can not recommend this place at all. They have no quality control in the kitchen, seem to careless about your experience and appear to simply want your money. With so many other great places to eat on Staten Island I would skip this one.

Mango Bubble Tea. Really good mango bubble tea. Worth its price!

This place is great! Really friendly and nice staff. I have ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken and it was really good. The rice, cashews, and pineapple blended in pretty well. The chicken is a little bit bland, but still a good overall meal to eat. Would come here again for a quick good Thai bite.

I was walking on Stuyvesant and I passed by this place. I checked it out and found out that it opened recently. The staff were very friendly. I ordered a chicken pad Thai with Thai iced coffee. It was delicious! The lunch special comes with a spring roll. So it's a great deal. I highly recommend Talay to those looking for good Thai place. Update: I recently got their Drunken noodles - soo good!!

This is a really cute spot. I was dying for some Thai food and the place I usually go was closed until five so I remember this place opened up recently down the block from that. I walked in and took a chance. Their food was amazing! So I should he taken pics and I will try for next time but the curry puff was so fresh and delicious hands down the best one I ever had! The chicken with basil sauce was to die for! This is now my new and favorite Thai restaurant. Give it a shot you will love it.

Serviceable Thai takeout for the times I don't feel like treking out to Elmhurst. Portions are small for the price.

We both enjoyed our entrees very much. The string beans were cooked well and delicious. My only disappointment was the dumplings. They were flavored very well, but were what I like to call "Staten Island Dumplings" in that they were way too heavy with a thick wrapper. I prefer the thin wrapper, softer type of dumpling. Service was adequate but otherwise unremarkable. We will eat here again.

The decor has not been updated in a long time but it doesn't look it's age either. It's clean Asian themed decor. Service is efficient, not particularly warm but not bad. I ventured outside my normal choice and I won't be doing that again. My usual go to is the egg rolls, pineapple fried rice and I add shrimp for my drink I ask for pineapple juice and coconut rum. This time I ordered pan fried noodles with seafood and the frozen mango margarita. I was disappointed, the dish lacked the flavor I was expecting and so did the cocktail. My husband had our usual and he was very happy, our friends had the chicken pad Thai and mango mojito and they were also very happy. Next time, I'm going back to my usual order lol.

The spicy Kani salad was alright, tasted more like cold slaw with a few pieces of avocado. It was $6 and I didn't know until I ordered it. I definitely would not get that again. I want to try their teriyaki chicken though! Service: the servers were nice and wait was about 5-7 minute pretty average. Price; the quickgrill was $8 and Cali roll was $4-5. I would go during happy hour 2:30-5:30 to get the regular rolls. Again my kani salad was a purchase I regret getting. Vibe; casual interior, you go up to order and then wait for it. I think it's a good sushi spot on the island, and definitely would come back for that chicken (saw others have it and smelled bomb!!!)

Prices here are not bad at all. I ordered the chicken bento meal up at the counter and it was out fairly fast and the counter guy was pretty friendly. The food? It was exactly what I expected for a $12 bento box. The chicken was very good, the dumplings were just ok, the California roll was good. I didn't expect a five star meal, but they gave me exactly what I wanted and it was a good serving size. There's no reason NOT to give them a try if you're in the area.
