    Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos

Talkin Tacos takes self service to another level. When you walk in, there is no staff on the floor, and there's no one to greet you. There are instead two kiosks straight ahead where you order. It's pretty easy to use the kiosks, but of course, they ask to tip, which is just ridiculous. After placing your order, you grab your number from the table next to the kiosk. When our food was ready, the staff brought it to our table, which was the one and only interaction with them. There is also a self-serve table that has silverware, boxes, cups, etc. This came in handy when I needed silverware quickly, but the no-service model is kind of off putting. It's also very expensive. We had 6 tacos and it was $40. They also don't have a soda machine and only offer bottled drinks. We had to pay $5 for water bottles. The dining room is cool but kind of weird. Everything is black. The floor, the tables, the wall, all black. It feels like a club from the mid 2000s. The actual tacos were very good. I'd maybe go back to get takeout, but overall, it's just a bit of a weird concept that's meant to keep overhead low and it's expensive.

I tried Talkin' Tacos for a quick to-go order and left feeling a bit underwhelmed. I ordered two tacos -- one chicken and one beef. The chicken taco was really good, flavorful and well-seasoned. Unfortunately, the beef taco was extremely chewy to the point where I couldn't eat it. They did include a huge amount of chips, but there was no salsa, which made the chips kind of pointless. The order also took longer than expected for something that was supposed to be quick. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't great. The chicken taco was the highlight, but the rest fell short. Hoping they make some improvements because the concept has potential!

Talkin Tacos took over the space once held by Tijuana Flats. We stopped in for a quick bite as we heard good things about the food. Once started as a food truck, they now have many locations. The interior was fun and we noticed 2 kiosks to order from. The hard part was deciding what to order while people were waiting behind you. I chose some type of birria tacos with lots of stuff on them but you could customize. I ordered the way they came - with everything. My friend got birria ramen. and a rice bowl to take home for the next day. I also tried a green apple soda and That was really good. i will definitely get that again in the future! We sat outside on the patio because it was really cold indoors. Our food was delivered in good time and our server was very helpful. There was a self serve table next to the kiosks with to-go boxes, plastic ware and other necessities. We were hungry and the birria was really tasty. i would spend more time looking over the menu next time because I didn't really like all the cheese and stuff on these tacos. It was suppose to come with consume for dipping which they forgot to bring and I forgot to ask but in reality, there was no way i could have dipped these tacos - they were really messy. The flavors were good and the barria was delish but the rice in the rice bowl was all stuck together as were the ramen noodles. I was a little disappointed. As mentioned, i will review the menu better and make some different choices next time.

Ready to try this place out!

I had been hearing a lot of buzz about Talkin' Tacos, so I finally decided to give it a try -- especially to see what the hype was about around the Birria burrito and Birria Bowl. Unfortunately, I left a little underwhelmed. Let's start with the birria burrito. They definitely looked great, but they were very greasy -- like, dripping-through-the-wrapper greasy. And while the meat was tender there wasn't much. It was mostly rice and hardly any beans. it lacked the rich, slow-cooked flavor that birria is usually known for-- it tasted more oily than savory, and lacked the depth you'd expect. As for the Birria Bowl, it had the same issues. It came out hot and hearty, but again, it was underwhelming and just didn't pack the flavor punch. I was hoping for something bold and satisfying, but it felt more like a heavy meal without much payoff. Mostly rice and I just don't see how they charge the price point for dishes that are $90 percent rice. To be fair, the portions are generous, and the staff was friendly and fast. If you're in the mood for something indulgent and don't mind a greasy bite, it might still hit the spot for you. But if you're looking for authentic, deeply flavored birria, you might want to look elsewhere.

The horchata had to much cinnamon. Taste like you drinking cinnamon. Tacos were okay !

Sparsely decorated fast food place. There's no counter, just a couple of machines where you place your order. A woman came over as I walked in and asked if I had any questions. I said not yet, and she disappeared. I pretty much had to figure it out for myself. Any questions I had about the food, difficult to really get answers to. I ordered the 3 taco combo, and rice and beans and a bottle of water. With the smallest tip possible ( 7%, I think) this came out to nearly $30. WHAT??? So I sit down, the woman, who is the only one working outside the kitchen, brings me my bottle of water. A few minutes later, she brings me my bowl of rice and bowl of refried beans. The rice has a weird taste. It is also the driest rice I've ever had in my life really not good. The refried beans were awful. Had a really funky taste. Also just terrible. Then I waited and waited and waited. My three tacos finally came out. It's good that I really didn't like the rice and beans because I would've been unhappy that they were cold at that point, but I really didn't care. The tacos themselves were fine. Small, but tasted OK. Very greasy, especially the birria one. That was just a giant mess of grease. I guess if the tacos were much much cheaper, I might try them again sometime but at this price and considering how bad the rice and beans were, I definitely will not be back here ever again. One and done for this place.

Birria Taco and Carne Asada Taco

Stopped in for lunch and tried the lunch special: 2 tacos, a side, and a drink. I went with the birria and carne asada tacos, plus street corn on the side. The tacos were okay overall. The carne asada had decent flavor, but the birria taco was super oily, which made it less enjoyable. The street corn was tasty and probably the highlight of the meal. The vibe inside is nice, and I liked the casual setup. Ordering at the kiosk was convenient and easy. Overall, not a bad spot for a quick lunch.

My wife and I had dinner here. Really great Mexican food. I had the California burrito with steak and shrimp. Honestly one of the best Cali B's I've had since moving to south Florida. The tacos were good. The consume for the birria was a 7/10. However the bang bang shrimp taco was phenomenal, great breading and flavor on the shrimp. Also the pumpkin spice horchata was amazing, great dessert! Ben helped us out and she was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. She stated her favorite thing was the bang bang shrimp tacos. We will be returning here for sure.

I tried three different tacos, the shrimp the mahi and the steak they were all great and u loved the crispy corn tortilla. I was so happy it was halal. I will say their customer service was helpful, the decor was fun day of the dead graffiti settings and some music. I am so grateful it is halal bc of limited halal options in Del Ray and it tastes great! So? It will def be a go to taco spot for me. I wish I would have taken a photo of the tacos but I was hungry they were gone in about flash :)

    Chicken burrito
    James H.

Chips were bad, no sauces, everything just generally dry, burrito has takes which ruin flavor although the bites without the takes were alright, employees made noises at me while I was walking out, good ambiance in store. I picked up takeout so can't comment on the service.

We were sat at a table near the bar which was great as it was inside and had a nice breeze with the fans and AC. Damien was our server and was wonderful at explaining the menu and the concept of their scratch kitchen. For our drinks we tried the classic and guava-habanero margaritas. We ended up liking the classic more just because the fresh ingredients were reminiscent of those we had in Mexico. It was a little too warm out to be doubling down on spice in our drinks too. We ordered a brisket quesadilla and for our tacos: carnitas, chorizo, and crispy fish. For our second round (not pictured), my husband tried the spicy chicken. He was warned the spicy chicken is exceptionally spicy but he didn't think that warning was warranted so maybe don't be afraid to try it if you're not big on spice. We had tap water that they left a large bottle on the table for. Even though we didn't drink too much of it, they still replaced it with a fresh bottle after a while since it probably got warm. One staff member even came to wipe up the water that had sweat off our drinks. Overall, El Camino exceeded our expectations. All of the staff was kind and courteous and the food was off the chart. And those happy hour prices are hard to beat! We definitely will be back!

*This review is for the Patron Margarita we tried last night. *…read more We've been here before and it was a great experience so we decided to come back last night to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We tried the Patron Margarita and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The drink was watery and lacked the vibrant, tangy punch that a margarita should have. The lime flavor was almost non-existent. The tequila was barely detectable, and the balance between the ingredients was completely off. To top it off, there were so much ice leaving the drink diluted and weak. For the price, I expected something much more refreshing and well-crafted. This margarita missed the mark completely. After addressing the issue with our server twice, he finally talked to the bartender. The bartender came to our table and offered to give a shot of tequila to add to the watered down margarita, but still, it didn't quite hit the mark. I really appreciated the bartender's effort to accommodate and make things right. It's clear they care about customer satisfaction. Despite the drink not being up to par, the service was friendly and attentive. I'll give it another shot in the future, but hopefully, the margarita recipe gets a little more consistency.

So TL:DR, I'm sold! I'm coming back and hoping it's consistent because this meal was delicious. Ordered tacos: steak, carnitas, and barbacoa. With rice and beans and washed it down with a large agua de Jamaica. Steak taco tasted like a real steak taco, and drenched with lime and salsa from their extremely convenient salsa bar, it was fantastic. The carnitas tacos was next, it was nice and tender, great taste, and again, drenched in lime and a mix of their green and red salsa it was very yummy. In between I had the rice and beans that were excellent imo. I'm Mexican and grew up eating beans 5-7 days week so i know a thing or two. The rice and beans were very close to home made. Very nostalgic. Finally I was expecting the barbacoa taco to be, not-so-good. I dunno know honestly I just expected them to not be perfect. Barbacoa was on-point! Great taste and not dry. Good potion of meat too, so I was able to eat some of the meat with rice and beans and that was amazing. Tortillas are made in-house and tasted great, I'm usually picky about this but these weren't too thick and tasted great. The agua de Jamaica was excellent. On the sweet side but not overly overly sweet. It was the perfect meal for that particular day, it hit the spot and didn't cost an arm and a leg. It's in a plaza, in a halfway sketchy neighborhood tbh but is worth going to and very close to 95. I will be going back and probably ordering the exact same order.
