Long and I do mean long time customer (20+ years). I haven't been in a bit and decided to treat myself. We all know the food here is good, it's always been good. What's not good is the prices. Now I know everything has gone up (for no reason), and that this is Boca, but come on it's Mexican. $18 for a burrito and a downsized one at that, crazy. I opted for the flair bc they're more economical, but really are they a value at $15? I can go pretty much any place else and these would be at least $3-$5 less. I love spring long time businesses but I also appreciate value.

Two years ago I ordered a veggie burrito without cheese, sour cream and tomatoes. Upon receiving my order it came drenched in tomatoes. (Pics 1-2) Two years later I decided to give them another shot since my office was offering lunch and I again ordered the veggie burrito with no cheese, sour cream and tomatoes. As a vegan who happens to despise tomatoes, my burrito again was prepared with a handful of tomatoes, they just can't seem to get it right... and where's the mushrooms?? The first ingredient on the veggie burrito. (Pic 3) Extremely disappointed. Will not be giving them anymore chances or my business.

Very good small local Mexican restaurant. The service was quick. Nice waitress. The chips and salsa were good. Burrito chicken and cheese cake out fast. The place was busy for lunch. Get there prices average $10.50 per burrito or so. It's a simple place looks like family owned and run. It's been there a longtime. Good location. Park right in front.

So, I've been going to the Argentinian Deli, located in the same run-down, unattractive strip center off 20th Street and Federal Highway (head shops, do your own laundry, shoe repair, etc) and never tried SENOR BURRITO,which is located at the north end of the center. I thought I would one day give it a try, as it always had a bunch of cars in the lot parked in front of their entrance, so it surely had it's following. My friend Marsha, who had a bad case of bronchitis and was in bed in her multi-million $ East Boca condo, texted me that this guy who she met on-line brought her CHICKEN SOUP from Señor Burrito, and that it was the BEST CHICKEN SOUP she EVER had. Marsha kept texting me, day after day, asking me if I tried their chicken soup yet. ["not yet, but I will" was not a sufficient answer.] She kept HOCKING me to go try their chicken soup. So frankly, to stop her texting me, Dennis and I went there on a specific mission - to try their CHICKEN SOUP. Now, the ambience of the place is sort of quasi run down, but neat and clean, booths real clean and cushions on the seats which if you are not careful you slide off (an important tip), and the bar (wine and beers only) has about 10 bar stools, and it was PACKED at 1 PM. Warmly greeted by a hostess/owner, I figured I found a real good place. And then I looked around at the bar, and there were 5 dudes, all really built ["ah, this is my kinda place"] ALL having these HUGE BOWLS of CHICKEN SOUP. So I thought, "if these built guys are ALL having CHICKEN SOUP, it really MUST be AWESOME...and I decided that next time I went there during the day, I would sit at the bar, and maybe a built guy would sit next to me, and slurp CHICKEN SOUP and I could make small talk with him, say like "Hey, bro, this is some damn good CHICKEN SOUP, huh? What's going on, bro?] [Hey, we can all have our fantasies, right?] So, I ordered CHICKEN SOUP, and Den ordered A Chicken Burrito [he liked it], and this HUGE BOWL OF CHICKEN SOUP ( $6.25!!) is brought to the table, steaming hot. Loaded with carrots, potatoes, finely diced onions, guacamole, cilantro, and LOTS OF WHITE MEAT CHICKEN. But there was ONE CRITICAL ELEMENT MISSING - it was TASTELESS. Was I supposed to add HOT sauce? Why? So, I ate half of it, brought the rest home, figuring I would have it the next day, and maybe it would be better. It was still tasteless. I returned a week later at 8PM, and the place was again PACKED. Every booth taken, all seats at the bar taken [NO BUILT GUYS, though], and people waiting outside for a table. So, I figure "It's you, Max, you are missing their ESSENCE, you are being TOO CRITICAL, and then I wondered "maybe my taste buds are shot, doesn't that happen to you when you get old?" This time I ordered CHICKEN MOLE VERDE, and the chicken was shredded, with a lot of mole sauce on top. Sorry, but it was TASTELESS. Den ordered CHICKEN FAJITAS, and they were SIZZLING HOT, and tasty. I liked them a lot, but it wasn't my meal, but he being so kind, allowed me to switch plates. Wait staff are attentive and responsive. Bathroom was immaculate. BEERS were real cold. Food was HOT. But, it was NOT the best Mexican food I ever tasted, as some reviewers claim, and now I know what to expect, so if I return, it will not be for the TASTE of the food, but to feed my fantasies, and to get a decent, inexpensive meal close to home. With little to no taste. P.S. I told Marsha it was not the best CHICKEN SOUP I tasted, and she must have been delirious from her bronchitis meds, or had been away from Manhattan too long. Or both. She finally had nothing more to say. Thanks for your patience reading this, but I had a story to tell, or at least I thought I did, and give them a fair review.

All I can say about this place is "what a find". Our small group of four stopped in late afternoon on a Saturday and was lucky enough to find a open table, it seemed like every time a customer left a few minutes late another one would enter along with plenty picking up takeout. After placing our orders we were treated to a bowl of red salsa and chips along with our drinks. This is a beer and wine restaurant but they also make margaritas I really don't fully understand it but I think they use a wine cooler mixer or something the girls thought they were pretty good us guys enjoyed a few ice cold Dos Equis from the bottle served with a short cold glass, after spending a few hours out in the sun they were refreshing as a spring shower. The fresh red salsa was exceptional but doesn't bring a lot of heat we requested a hotter salsa and was immediately brought this green concoction that is simply amazing it's got a real kick trying to analysis it my only conclusion is that it's a blend of ground hot peppers with a vinegar base very different very delicious and tasted great on everything as I stated its a vinegar base so I suggest you taste it on a chip before you add it to your entree we all loved it but you'll have to decide for yourself not only did it add a few levels of heat it I thought it really enhanced the flavor of everything I put it on. I definitely recommend you try anything on the menu I did read the very angry review regarding the fish taco so you'll have to make that call yourself, from everything we tried it's hard to believe someone would get that upset especially at these prices. Our friends who live here told us they come here often and it's always been great from our experience today I can't imagine the quality can vary all that much.

The interior features really cool, stylized Day of the Dead like decor--lots of vibrant colors, and artwork that gives the space a ton of personality. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a weekend, and they had a lively live band playing that kept the energy in the room incredibly high. It's loud, fun, and definitely feels like a party. The menu is a big step up from your standard taco joint. This is elevated Mexican cuisine done right. A nice variety of drinks as well. As for the service, it's a bit of a mixed bag. The staff is highly effective and fast--drinks arrived quickly, empty plates disappeared instantly, and they kept the table moving smoothly, however, the vibe is definitely more transactional than friendly. I did have an issue on my last visit to the restaurant and management addressed it immediately with a very satisfactory resolution. They do care about their customers.

We've always loved the food here, which is why this experience was so disappointing…read more We arrived around 2:50 p.m., were seated right away, and were ready to order by 2:55. Knowing lunch ended at 3:00, we had the lunch menu in hand. At one point, our server started walking toward our table, but after seeing me looking at the lunch menu, he turned around and went back to the bar to put dishes away. It honestly felt like he was trying to delay taking our order. My husband eventually had to call him over before 3:00. We ordered mahi-mahi tacos, and I was ordering the margarita chicken from the lunch menu. Instead of ringing it in right away, he waited until it was exactly 3:00 before telling us lunch was over. We asked to speak with the manager immediately. By the time she came to our table, it was still 3:00, yet she insisted there was nothing she could do because the computer wouldn't allow it. After I explained that I'd worked in restaurants and knew managers could make exceptions in situations like this, she finally agreed--but then rolled her eyes, walked away, and laughed with the server. My husband witnessed the whole thing. At that point, we didn't feel comfortable eating food prepared by people who were openly laughing at us, so we left. This was never about saving a few dollars. It was about customer service and doing the right thing. We've been loyal customers for years because we truly love the food, but the way we were treated today was so unprofessional that we may never come back. It's really sad because we genuinely enjoy this restaurant, but if this is how customers are treated and how management handles situations, it's not the kind of business I want to support.

It's so good I've already gone two weeks in a row and I'm pretty sure it's about to become a regular thing for me. They're incredibly friendly and even come out to chat with guests, which makes the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. The barbacoa tacos are hands down my favorite. The meat is unbelievably tender literally falling apart and so juicy and flavorful. I also tried the campechano tacos (a mix of chorizo and steak) and they were sooo good. Perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. And let's talk about their chipotle salsa... I'm obsessed. I was putting it on everything on the table. It has the perfect smoky kick and just elevates every bite. The guac and chips were good, though they didn't quite stand out compared to how incredible the tacos were. Toreros Mexican Restaurant -- Nachos Toreros with Steak -- "The Confident Nacho"…read more I only review nachos. Not the tacos, not the margaritas, not the room. One plate, one standard, every time. A few people had been telling me Toreros was worth a visit, not for the nachos specifically, just that the food was good. That's enough. I follow nacho intelligence wherever it leads. Toreros calls these "award-winning" right there on the menu. Bold claim. Bold claims require bold nachos. The bartender recommended the steak without hesitation, and I took the advice. Some bartenders know things, and this one most certainly did. Let's start with what's right, because there's a lot. The steak is genuinely excellent: well seasoned, properly cooked, the kind of protein that makes you grateful you listened. The cheese came out melted edge to edge, fully pulling between chips the way it should. The portion is honest, no Ghost Nacho energy here, no sad handful of chips placed carefully around a big plate. The chips have real structure. And the plate arrived nuclear hot, as required by Florida Mexican restaurant law, with no warning given (none ever is). For a while, Toreros looked like it might actually justify the word "award-winning." Then we reached the center. The center mass was tighter than a neutron star. Shredded cheddar and refried beans had fused the chips into a single immovable continent, packed so densely that escape velocity wasn't achievable without a fork. The Fork Rule was invoked -- not willingly, it almost never is. Here's the thing about nachos: the chip is not a vehicle, the chip IS the experience. It's supposed to do the work of the fork. When you need utensils to free your nachos from their own plate, something has gone wrong, and it went wrong in the kitchen. The edges held beautifully. The center collapsed under its own gravity. The root cause is shredded cheese, and it's not just a Toreros problem, it's a South Florida epidemic. Shredded cheese melts unevenly and then resolidifies into glue as it cools, welding everything to the plate. There's a reason someone invented a product called nacho cheese: it flows, it coats every chip edge to center, and it never seizes up. And here's the part that got me... Toreros sells *Cheese Dip* four inches down the very same menu! They own the solution. They just don't apply it to the nachos. One more thing worth flagging, and it's telling: read the menu description. It lists refried beans (sorry, they dont belong on nachos), cheddar, sour cream, guacamole, jalapeños, tomatoes, and green onions. No chips. The single most important component of the entire dish, the thing that IS the nacho, doesn't even make the ingredient list. It's assumed. That tells you exactly where the chip ranks in the hierarchy here, and the fused center confirms it. On value: $13 base, $19 with steak. That's on the high end for nachos, and the Fork Rule doesn't offer discounts for ambition. As a family plate it's a tough sell. I finished it solo and wasn't hungry after, so call it one meal or a starter for two, and the fused center makes it a poor sharer regardless. But I'm not here just to swing. Toreros gets more right than most places in this series. The steak is fantastic, the flavor is there, the portion is honest, the edges held, and the treasure at the center was real; you just shouldn't have to excavate for it. I'm not sure I'd call these award-winning. But I'd call them good nachos, and I'd go back. 7.5/10 -- The Confident Nacho. It showed up, it knew what it was, and it delivered right up until the center caved under its own gravitational pull. Fix the cheese -- you already sell the fix -- and this is a 9. -- Florida Nacho Man. floridanachoman.substack.com
