Orlando is a place we visit twice a year for various reasons so we always have a running lists of places we want to try. Talkin Tacos was a random choice and not on our original plans but my daughter wanted birria and this was close by. This is a cute little fast casual spot in a shopping center with plenty of parking. Inside is dimly lit with various lighted decorations that fit the aesthetic of the place. It reminds me of a club almost. Ordering is either at a kiosk or with a cashier and they offer a wide variety of options. I wasn't hungry but I try churros at every restaurant they are available so I got an order as well as birria quesadillas rice and a lemonade for me and my daughter to share. They weren't very busy but had a steady flow of customers. Food was constantly coming out and we had food within 10 minutes. Everything looked amazing and the birria quesadillas was packed with meat. The rice was just ok, it's a side I love but this wasn't what I'm used to too. The churros were good. Crispy sweet and chewy. A great finish to the meal. I've eaten at Talkin' Tacos in Orlando about 4 times now, and every time the food itself has honestly been worth the price. My issue is with the customer service. I recently placed a pickup order for birria tacos, and they forgot the consommé that's supposed to come with it -- which is part of what you're paying for. When I called, they told me I could drive back and pick it up, but the restaurant is already about 15 minutes away from me. I asked if there was any other way they could make it right, like maybe letting me pick up a small gift card another time for the inconvenience, and the employee basically laughed it off and said it was "just a minor issue." To them it may have been minor, but when you pay for something, you expect to receive the full order. A little understanding and customer care would've gone a long way. The food is good, but customer service matters too, and unfortunately this experience makes me not want to continue going to this location. read more

WOW! Taco Tuesday is NOT the place to be at this location! I ordered at the kiosk at 7:24 and was sent a text stating my order would be ready in 25 minutes. 45 minutes later, I'm still sitting here!! The place is way too loud, the crowd is almost out the door and this is not fun. They finally called my order number; however, it must not be completely ready as the server is still looking for it. The reason I hate the kiosk for ordering is it asks you to leave a tip even before you taste the food or can judge the service. Never again for me. I'm returning to Gringos Tacos!! In short: club atmosphere , great service and good flavors. I came here with a co-worker on a Sunday around 7pm. The place was packed and the only seating was the table tops that face the kitchen. I was very suprised how packed it was. I've been to one of the locations they have in South Florida, Coral Springs to be exact. Similar club vibe with music , neon lights , and dia de los muertos type decor . My friend always orders the crunch stack so I did the same . It was good but I was expecting more of a crunch. Chips and a beef consume come on the side . The beef consume didn't do much for me. Cookies and cream churros were Divine!!! I couldn't stop eating them . As soon as you walk into Talkin' Tacos, you feel like you have walked into a party. The inside is dark, with colorful lights and beautiful Day of the Dead paintings on the walls. We were greeted right away and once they found out it was our first time, the server explained the menu and showed us how to order at the kiosk. We chose the App Trio to share and then each selected the Taco Trio. I got a Sunrise Lemonade (Mango and Strawberry) while my mom got a Horchata (cinnamon rice drink). There were also other fruity drinks and bottled drinks available. We sat down at a table and before long, our drinks were delivered. We both really liked our drinks, very flavorful. Our App Trio came next. It was over $20 so I was initially concerned about value but each dip was in a very large bowl. It comes with Guacamole, Jalapeño Taki Queso, and Pico de Gallo. All were delicious and the queso wasn't really spicy. There were 3 of us and we couldn't find the appetizer so we packed up more than half to take home. Our tacos were delivered next and all of mine were fantastic and very different tasting. The Steak Al Pastor had the pops of pineapple, the Caribbean Carne Asada had the big bites of plantains and avocado and the Mahi Mahi was perfectly fried. Ate lunch here today while visiting Orlando and it didn't disappoint! You order at a kiosk, pick a table and they bring it out to you. It's a smaller restaurant but there's still a decent amount of tables and everything was clean. The employees were so friendly and pleasant to interact with. There are many great taco spots in Orlando, but Talkin' Tacos' consistently exceptional food quality and service makes it my favorite. Their fun ambiance is just a plus! The Steak Al Pastor tacos are my go-to. The pineapple and pickled red onions compliment the steak so well, resulting in a taco that's bright and savory. Location is small but a convenient spot. You use a kiosk to order but there was an employee present, delivering food to tables. She acknowledged us and told us to let her know if we needed help or had any questions. Once we sat down it didn't take long for one of our items to hit the table. I enjoyed Talking Taco's in DC so I figured I would give Orlando a try and they did not disappoint! The food was amazing, Birria Burrito with takis, WHAT!!! We also had the taco trio (bang bang shrimp, Mahi Mahi, and chicken street). Yummmmm!!! But I also have to give a shout out to the staff. You order food from a computer screen, food was good but way overpriced, they gave you chips with your meal but did not carry salsa. We had to pay for a cup of queso dip $10.00!! I really enjoyed the food I tried. I ordered the Cali burrito and the street corn in a cup. It was delicious. I went to pick up my food at 1 AM and there were plenty of people there as well. It seemed like a great after our spot to grab food late night. Either the owner or a manager assisted me and was a really helpful. I appreciate appreciated it a lot. I've been back several times since discovering this place in November 2024. I would recommend it to friends and I will keep coming as the service and food are good I've only ever gone to pick up my food so I haven't dialed in but the times that I've gone to pick up my food. Oh man, where do I get started on this review. This place honestly has the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. My fiancé and I had a bit of everything because it was so hard to choose from all the amazing options. 1. Loaded Nachos (with chicken) - they aren't joking about them being loaded! Mixed tacos (got 2 shrimp and 1 mahi mahi) - all super great. Reasonably priced. 4. Loaded Queso - honestly best queso we've had. Perfect mix of flavors. Must have if you stop by. At this point, we realized we ordered way too much as the portions were very generous. We kindly asked the kitchen staff to make the rest of the order to go. We ate the next items below for lunch the next day (and were full) 5. Mushrooms tacos (vegan) - super solid. As a former vegetarian, I would feel supported eating these tacos as they don't skip out on flavor with these tacos. 6. Chicken crunch wrap - this was a crazy menu item. I tried their Birria Ramen at the Pembroke Pines location about a month ago. It was outstanding. The flavor on that consommé was incredible and the amount of birria (beef) was very generous. This is one of my to go places when I'm in the area for business. So I fly back home to Orlando , decided to do a local search for a Talkin' Tacos and boom! There is one in the SoDo neighborhood. I went there as soon as I could and got the Birria Tacos. They were delicious stuffed with a ton of birria. The consommé tasted just like the one in Pembroke, so I can truly say that consistency is a serious matter for this chain. That broth was so good that I ordered an extra cup. Their name brand hot sauces are pretty good to! So happy that they are 10 minutes away from my place. Their staff is great and the decor is very nice. Music was a bit loud, but that's okay. What a fun spot! It is a small location and you order from a tablet that has photos of all the food which was really nice! There is still someone at the front of the counter to assist if you have any questions. The highlights for me was being able to sample the tacos with the pick 3 trio. I didn't love the marinade on the carne asada( was a little salty) so probably wouldn't get that one again but would come back solely for the bang bang shrimp! Wow was it good! The birria taco was great too so glad I got to try multiple tacos. The quesadilla was also really yummy and we got two cups of the barría sauce. The street corn was delicious! I purchased the birria taco bowl and it was full of meat which I did like a lot. It came out fresh to order and the birria sauce was very flavorful. The white sauce which I believe is a ranch chipotle was so so refreshing, sweet with and salty combination made the entire bowl pop. I do have a few cons first the bowl became very soggy at the bottom and on the sides due to the juices from the birria It is on the small on the inside, so do not bring a huge group of people the ordering process is very cold. You can only order from the menu screen, not with an actual employee and the set up concept to order your food, will make it difficult to get in and out through the tables and the restaurant.
