Second time coming to Cornell Farm Cafe, and probably the last (except to grab some pastries to…read morego). Hostess called the wrong 'Sarah' after waiting 50 minutes for a table, which is fine, mistakes happen, except she forgot to put us back on the waitlist which meant we had to wait even longer for a table. When we finally got seated for breakfast, we were told the kitchen was a little backed up so it would take a little longer than normal for food - we waited over an hour for our food to come, and no one came to provide us with an update until we asked for it. We stopped in for brunch around 10:00 on a Friday morning and didn't leave until almost 1:15 after waiting to be seated then waiting for our food. I will add, the Denver omelet (vegetarian with fried tofu instead of ham) was really good! We also loved the strawberry scones and chocolate chip cookies. Like I said - I would come back to grab some pastries and a coffee, but probably would not recommend this place to eat.

My daughter found this delightful cafe for us to meet on Sunday. What a find! We got there at…read moreopening, and there was already a line! The welcome was very friendly when we arrived at the counter, and they kept the queue moving at a steady pace, so we hardly had any wait. You order at the counter, get a number, find a table, and they deliver your order to you. There are a decent number of tables inside (don't panic, check the back room for seats, too!), as well as several outside on the wraparound porch. The whole converted country house is adorable, inside and out! South Store Cafe radiates a rustic-chic, inviting atmosphere. They have a fairly comprehensive breakfast-and-lunch menu, but they also have two enclosed pastry cases chock-full of sweet and savory goodies sure to please any palate. I thought I knew what I wanted until I saw that case! In the end, I got the sausage and mushroom strata with a homemade cardamom syrup latte, all of which was delicious! It's a fabulous gem tucked in the country, and I can't wait to return.

Problem is the boards are behind the order counter so you can't see them until you go to order. The order takers are friendly and patient. You get an order number and find a place to sit- either inside (very "cozy") or outside. We chose outside as there was less people. I had the chicken salad and he had the ham and Swiss. Both had too much greens for our taste. We split a Bloody Mary that was very good but came with a dried out artichoke heart. Would probably come back if in the area again but would also split the sandwich as we both ended up taking 1/2 of ours home.

Looking at their website, there were a couple of coffee beans that I wanted to try. So I navigated there and was a bit confused by the store location. The coffee shop is situated in a industrial business park, though I quickly figured out that they had storefronts too. I found the spot and walked in. I was greeted by Carey, who introduced herself as the owner of Roasted By Mom Coffee. That's when I learned that this space had 3 independent coffee roasters who share the same equipment and store to sell to customers. And the day I went, Carey was there to serve her coffee beans. So I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte and a black coffee. She didn't have any drip coffee readily available, but she went out of her way to get fresh beans she allowed me to choose to grind and brew a fresh cup for me. Wonderful customer service! I didn't have to wait long for my drinks to be finished. P2 said she enjoyed hers and I thought mine wasn't too bad. The beans I chose, Mom Goes Nutty, has hints of peanut butter, which I could taste in my cup. It was a different experience for sure. Overall, I thought I had a 5-star experience, though the coffee I tried wasn't what I would normally drink.
