Floodwater is our news favourite spot in Southern Marin! Although there are TV's over the bar, o would definitely call this place a "Sports Bar" as the TV's aren't the focus and there are other seating areas without views of the television. On game days, the atmosphere is jovial and fun, a really great spot to catch a game with other fans. Our favourite are the Pork Belly Steam Buns. They are absolutely delicious and a can't miss. On our last two visits we've ordered pizzas, the Seasonal and the Funghi. They were perfectly cooked and I'd definitely order again. One of the best things about Floodwater is that they're open late. We have been wanting to try this place since it opened. We had planned going in March, but then, well, you know what happened. We finally went last night as a family and sat on their outdoor patio. Despite cold, foggy, windy weather the Patio is well protected and there is a GIANT umbrella with heat lamps to keep you comfortable - and beautiful fire pits. Now to the good stuff: the food. When reading the menu nothing looks incredible, but each and every item we ordered got a "WOW!" And a "You HAVE to try this!" From everyone at the table. Even our 5-year old who is the pickiest eater in Marin County tried almost everything and even ate TWO pieces of his pizza - which he has literally NEVER done. Two out of the five people in our family rarely eat much of their meals at a restaurant - yet all 5 of us were stuffed by the end of the meal, and wishing we had room for more!! I'm so happy to finally see a restaurant in Marin with a more varied menu, and REALLY solid food. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful too. It's very exciting to see restaurants starting outdoor service! I was having food delivered from Floodwater during SIP, and was really looking forward to treating myself in person. They now have outdoor dining, the tables are spaced far apart and the servers all wear masks and gloves, they have disposable menus, and disinfect all the surfaces between guests. I felt very safe eating out here. The service is great, the food is delicious, and the prices are what you'd expect for casual dining in Mill Valley. They're located right off the freeway where Frantoio used to be. They did some really lovely renovations outside. There are big fire pits you can eat at, and a GIANT umbrella covering most of the patio. It's very convenient and quite lovely to be able to dine out again. We shared a few items, my favorites were the Vietnamese chicken wings, & the pork belly buns. The cheeseburger is huge! .. I wasn't crazy over the onion rings, maybe it's a new trend to use giant cuts of onion, but I prefer the good ole fashion kind. The cocktail menu is short but has a bit of everything. The wine list is fairly extensive, and there were some great beer options too. This will be a new regular spot for me! read more

This is such a great restaurant! The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the restaurant was very clean and well put together. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about gluten free, and the General Manager came by to confirm allergy/Celiac cross contamination requirements for my order. I ordered 2 orders of the crab cakes because the first order was so good. The wings were outstanding as well. I cannot speak highly enough about this place and recommend anyone in the area to stop by. You may think it is a hotel bar/restaurant if you are just driving by, but it is not, and you will be pleasantly surprised, just as I was. Mixed experiences here. Food is decent and fun to share. Haven't had anything bad yet. Bills are confusing when your drinks are priced higher than the menu, or because the bartender gives you a stronger pour. The manager seems arrogant about questions regarding the bill like it's floodwaters right to charge more without disclosing to the consumer. Also had issues when confronting about items that we didn't order. Also manager and staff gives attitude like' everyone in here is so well off that we can't believe you even looked at the bill'. We didn't dig that. Occasionally meeting friends at Floodwater is one thing, however I don't love the sneaky charges. My buddies and I get together every other Wednesday night someplace in Marin. We've tried many spots. The Junction was great, but then we met the asshole owner. Floodwater has become one of our go-to spots. Once we convinced the chef to turn his spicy chicken sandwich into a pizza - and it was awesome. DIVINE CUISINE -Take it from 18-year-old broke college student, you need to come here. I would pay a near infinite amount for the food they serve. Divine is not a hyperbole - the experience that I had eating here brought me close to God. The decor is very tasteful and the outdoor dining area is aesthetically pleasing - 100% photo opp! They make due with the interesting location they have. We got the onion rings, pretzels, steamed buns, and chicken wings. The first two, while extremely impressive, were eclipsed by the transcendence of the latter two. The pork buns were fluffy, tender, and scrulmdidelyumpchous. The combination of flavors destroyed my perception of good taste and redefined what flavor meant for me. It's like molly, but better. Chicken wings were great too I guess. And the ice cubes! I don't know what they do with then, but they just do not melt. Probably the most incredible thing I've ever seen. Their water is crisp, clean, and singularly refreshing. The owners sat near us and those guys are real chums, down to earth, jolly, joking jentlemen. They were talking about viral marketing and were very passionate about floodwater. This place is fantastic! I had been there once for a cocktail on the patio when Marin was still in the red tier (which was delicious btw) but I had the pleasure of dining inside last night. This place is a gem! The space is truly beautiful...a large gorgeous bar, high ceilings, great design touches, and a swanky side room you can apparently rent out for events. The food was fantastic. We started with the pork buns and they were so tasty! I had the halibut as a main and the sauce, sides, and presentation were excellent. So flavorful and cooked to perfection! Mill Valley is lucky to have Floodwater in their backyard. We'll be back. read more

I was in town for a short visit and learned that this place opened up about a week ago. The place is gorgeous. The ceiling architecture kind of reminds me of the knights of the round table. I think it is a great hang out area, place to get a drink, and bite to eat, which I also learned is hard to find for the area. They close at midnight. Me and my love ordered a popcorn snack, mushroom pizza, panna cotta dessert, and drinks. We really enjoyed the pizza-it was 6 pieces. We didn't care too much for the unique huckleberry panna cotta dessert or popcorn snack, but I'm not saying it is bad-it just wasn't our cup of tea, so I'm not knocking stars for that. The waiter was nice and served us glasses of water also, so I appreciate the hydration. Plenty of seating in the place as well. Great space! Love the look and feel of each section. Tons of TVs and even a "man/woman cave" to enjoy the game with leather seats and all. Service was on point. We had a big party and the drinks and food came out without a hitch, and there were a lot of drinks and food being ordered. I saw the reviews about the service and I know that they just opened but looks those kinks got worked out! We didn't have any issues. They even split the bill up so it was easy for the group to pay! Food was far better than your typical bar food. So good!! Matzah ball soup and the Ruben were my go-to orders. The Popcorn and Pizza were also great for sharing and amazing. I am so glad to find this gem! Matzoh ball soup with dill, chopped liver, corned beef on rye that are the best I've had west of NY or north of Miami. Growing up with a mom that prepared these foods I can say that Floodwater is right up there with homemade. I hope this establishment remains a part of the Marin community for a long time. read more

Ordered food to-go as I was staying at the hotel this is restaurant is attached to. When I got it back to my room , realized there were no utensils in the bag. When I called, I told the person who took the order that I was staying at the hotel. When I called them to advises them, they told me that I they couldn't do anything about it.
