Tavern Cheeseburger - meat, cheese and bacon only
Tina W.

Update - here for World Cup, the bar pretzel remains a solid choice, nice and hot and the beer cheese and mustard are tasty too. No more French Dip on the menu, but the pub burger (meat, cheese and bacon) my spouse found very good and the French fries even better. The fish and chips remains my favorite in the area. Service is attentive and staff is working very hard to keep drinks coming and the food out on time. The vibe here is exciting, fun and social, great to see the numbers and people having fun!

Great place! Highly recommend! We've been here once before and a few years ago and this place does not disappoint. The old fashion is 10/10. The fries, tacos, fish and chips are delicious!! The service is great and the atmosphere is 100!!

Porchetta Cubano

We stopped by this place on our way back from Muir Woods. It's next to a Holiday Inn. The environment was very inviting. They have a big bar area with lots of TVs so people can watch sports. They also have a separate lounge section and a recreational section with billiard and other games. We ordered the potato pancakes to share. It was tasty with the chive dip but I felt it wasn't worth $13. For entree I had the porchetta cubana. The roll was nicely toasted, the fries were amazing! But the porchetta itself was a miss. I thought the pork gaminess was a bit strong. Maybe a bit more time spent marinating would help. The habanero hot sauce that it came with also didn't do much for me as it felt very mild and watered down. Overall I thought this place was solid. Prices were a bit high for what you get. Also avoid the porchetta.

Tam Tavern feels very similar to the old Floodwater--same general vibe, just with a slightly more casual staff and a new menu. The location is great, but the parking situation really should be better. Just know: it's not cozy or intimate. It still has that "sports bar from the past" energy, with pool, air hockey, tons of TVs, and a patio with a beer-garden feel. It also still has that hotel-restaurant atmosphere, but not quite in the appealing way you'd hope. The food was solid overall. The fried chicken was much spicier and saltier than expected, the Niçoise salad was pretty good, and the French dip was hearty. They do have a strong beer selection. Dessert, however, was disappointing--only three frozen options, none of which were worth it. The banana split was overly sweet with artificial-tasting red sauce, the "tiramisu" felt like a frozen cup, and the ice cream was just... ice cream. There's potential here, but a few upgrades--parking, atmosphere, and the dessert menu--would go a long way.

Oatmeal Stout and French Dip
Tatiana N.

Steady service, definitely there for efficiency vs super hospitable. Not in a bad way at all. The food was good - I loved the French dip, but my date thought the smash burger was lacking in flavor. The oatmeal stout might be one of the best stouts I've ever had. I would make the drive (over an hour) just to enjoy it again.

I was craving a beet salad on the way home from Stinson and Floodwater came up with strong reviews. We stopped by with our pup and sat on the outside patio with an umbrella. Started off with the blonde ale and the what a melon cocktail. Our server was a bit rude to start as my husband asked his opinion between two beers and the guy just said "they're two completely different things".... It made it so awkward! We ordered the sliders, garlic fries, and a pizza in addition to the salad. The sliders were the best thing we ordered. The pizza was fine, the beet salad was fine, the fries were nice and crunchy and the ketchup was good- but the sliders were the most tasty. Overall I think the servers weird attitude at the start kind of set things off downhill pretty early on. I enjoyed the dining atmosphere otherwise and the other staff members were friendly.

What a welcome addition to Mill Valley! Sports bar with plenty of big screen tvs- check! Lively beer garden with occasional live music - check! Delicious beer + cocktails - check check! Game room with pool table, shuffleboard, fussball - check check check! And most importantly, delicious food and a fun vibe. Highly recommend: -- The Schnitzel (who else in Marin does authentic German schnitzel, red cabbage and spaetzle?). -- The Double Smashburger -- the Pizzas (if you're a carnivore, definitely order the Molinari Meats!). -- the Beer Battered Fish & Chips -- Bavarian Pretzel with stout beer cheese and mustard -- Saigon wings While all of the above may sound like something you wouldn't want to share with your cardiologist, they have lighter options as well. Their salads are surprisingly fresh, delicious and satisfying (I'm partial to the grilled chimichurri steak). And I'm a fan of their hummus plate with Z'aatar flatbread, and their potato pancakes. While I miss Floodwater's ruben sandwich, Tam Tavern's French Dip is a worthy substitute. The staff is friendly and efficient; the pricing is reasonable; and it's both family-friendly + dog-friendly. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but aside from that... this place is a winner! Looking forward to exploring more of their menu + Game Day fun.

Great service, the venue looks great. And the food was delicious. We had the garlic fries and pineapple pizza. The bartender was very good and made a perfect margarita. 5/5

Our insights: -Good servings and easy access if you are staying in HIEx Mill Valley. We went an all day excursion to explore the city and once we got back to the hotel, we were starving. Since we were tired, this restaurant is definitely on the right spot.

We finally made it to RH Rooftop Restaurant in Corte Madera, and it lived up to every expectation…read more From the photos I'd seen and my previous dining experience at the Yountville location, I had a pretty clear idea of what to expect. Curated furniture are displayed on the first and second floors. The third floor is where the magic happens, with its iconic chandeliers, elegant fountain, and olive trees creating a stunning ambiance. No matter where you're seated, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the Corte Madera outdoor mall and surrounding hills. The warm welcome at check-in set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. We were seated inside, and the views didn't disappoint. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I ordered a glass of white wine while my partner enjoyed a mimosa. The restaurant doesn't offer a full cocktail bar, but that wasn't an issue for us. The menu offers a great selection, but I already knew what I wanted after browsing it before our reservation. I ordered the whole grilled branzino with grilled broccolini, and my partner chose the lobster roll. Both dishes were beautifully presented. My deboned branzino was cooked perfectly--moist and flaky with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. The seasoning was simple, just the way I like it, allowing the flavors of the extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon to shine. The broccolini was perfectly cooked with a bright citrus finish. Even my partner, who isn't usually a seafood fan, really enjoyed both the fish and the broccolini. The fish was incredibly fresh with no fishy aroma, and the broccolini had the perfect al dente texture. My partner's lobster roll was equally impressive. The lobster was sweet, tender, and generously portioned, served on perfectly toasted brioche that complemented the filling without overpowering it. The portion sizes were just right. We didn't need a to-go box and we left feeling completely satisfied without feeling overly full. Although we skipped dessert, we were celebrating a milestone, and our thoughtful waiter surprised us with a warm chocolate chip cookie. It was absolutely delicious--fresh from the oven with melted, gooey chocolate in every bite. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful meal. Service throughout our visit was prompt and friendly, and every staff member we encountered was welcoming. The restaurant was well maintained, including the restrooms, which were clean and well attended. Overall, RH Rooftop Restaurant in Corte Madera delivered an exceptional first experience. Between the beautiful setting, delicious food, attentive service, and breathtaking views, it's a place we'll definitely return to.

Penne for Your Thoughts…read more Cal-Italian restaurant in the quaint town of Larkspur that's celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year. Picco blends the best of California with locally sourced and fresh produce with classic and modern takes on Italian dining. They are also Michelin recognized, as they've been Bib Gourmand winners ('21-23) in the past, and are currently "Recommended." The Good: * Reservations via OpenTable * Free street and City-owned lots available but there are time limitations, so check the signage. * They also run a pizzeria (Pizzeria Picco) literally right next door if you'd rather have a pie than pasta. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Waitstaff was fantastic and friendly. * Also has a bar if you just want to come in for a drink or three. * Local brews on tap, as well as a full oeuvre of alcoholic beverages. * They're known for their changing seasonal risotto, and after one bite, it was easy to see why! It was simply fantastic, as the rice was cooked perfectly and the fresh spring flavors in ours shone. * Carissa loved her King Salmon and veggies, as the fish was cooked perfectly. I ordered a daily special with house-made pappardelle noodles and smoked beef short ribs, and while it looked like a hot mess, it was fantastic. The noodles were thick and held up well to the assertive smoke and flavor of the beef--just a perfect dish in my opinion.. The Meh: * The Polenta-Crusted Artichoke Hearts appetizer was just OK. I liked the crunch and how they tried to present them as chicken wings, but they ate a little dry and the coating needed more seasoning. Fortunately, their concomitant aioli was able to save the day. The Ugly: * Not the biggest restaurant, and with the brick walls, it can get raucous in there fairly easily, especially if a large post-wedding party shows up to the bar to get sauced. Conclusion: Fantastic spot for a date night or any other occasion with great ambiance, service, and, most importantly, food. Highly recommended.

We actually had to go somewhere else to eat afterward because we were still hungry. Overall, this was a terrible dining experience. The Niçoise salad is a beautiful and unexpected salad with a fusion of chimichurri, traditional flavors, delicious salmon, and deliciously cooked fingerling style potatoes. This salad was worth the trip and we'd return just for this! It was such an interesting and delicious fusion! We also had the fish and chips which was traditionally prepared with a side of delicious fries. The fries were not really British style of chips but a signature style for the restaurant which was very nice. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. The side of slaw was light, refreshing, and delicious on a bed of lettuce. Exactly what you'd want with the heavier fried fish. There are a few things that hold this place back and may ultimately seal its fate in closure. They have nothing to do with the food or service which was very good as noted above. This review if 5 yelp stars for good reason. But, if Bazille wants to survive and thrive it may want to consider some modifications in concert with the Nordstrom store itself. This isn't really about the prices. They were not out of line for local dining of similar far. However, in a department store setting you want the dining experience to be a loss leader / lead magnet to get shoppers in and keep them longer. And, inside there should be SOME link to the store. Why did no one offer to help me find the purse my wife was shopping for that day? Why was there not a thank you coupon for dining good only for this visit (kind of like parking validation but for shopping). We were not offered a coffee or tea. For the fee this would cost nearly nothing an make the upscale Nordstrom experience, which we LOVE, all the better. The franchise is leaving a lot off the table here and there's no reason economically. Why are the sales people on the floor not offering a free desert to try out the restaurant? I think you get my point by now. The experience is disconnected from the Nordstrom experience. Much more can be done. The experience, and it is meant to be an experience like the Nordstrom experience. It does fall a little short there. Look at Restoration Hardware's efforts. You literally sit in their furniture which you could purchase on the spot if you wanted; for example. You dine on their dishes... etc. Back to the prices. I could go to any restaurant nearby for similar prices and fare. So, subsidizing with accoutrements or just money would fill the seats. The place is nice. The staff is nice. I love almost any roasted vegetable, and the yogurt sauce made everything taste elevated; I could have easily finished off the vegetable platter on my own, but I restrained myself to save room for the pizza. My favorite pizza had to be the Calabrian chile and ricotta pizza, which stood out with its sweet, creamy ricotta and the slow burn from the chile oil that lingered long after the last bite. The other pizzas were solid, although they were your more typical pizza combos (cheese, mushroom, meat combo). We spotted buffalo milk gelato on the dessert menu, so we ordered a round of scoops to finish off our lunch. The buffalo milk resulted in a creamier, silkier texture than regular cow's milk gelato (I think?), and it was very tasty!

What a cute area of Mill Valley we had the pleasure of visiting over the weekend celebrating…read moreFather's Day. Watershed can be found in the Mill Valley Lumber Yard, which also has a few cool shops, a toy store, wine tasting room, ice cream spot, and more. We made a reservation ahead of time and so glad we did because they were booked up for this special weekend. With beautiful weather, this spot was alive with large parties. Also, the World Cup was on and patrons were enjoying watching the game(s) inside too. If we were to come back, I would def sit outside with a group on a nice day. Outside there was corn hole and lotsa tables to enjoy a casual meal and vibes. Our party ordered a round of margaritas, and menu standouts included the burger, fried chicken sandwich (the paprika aioli is stellar), the kale salad (topped with chickpeas, quinoa, walnuts, and more), grilled cheeses for the kiddos, and the "Burning Love" pizza. There's a little bit of something for everyone on the menu here, and everything was so fresh, comforting, and just elevated. The meat in the burger was something to highlight, and I loved the thick cut fries. I would try a pizza on the next trip like the "Swim Club" served with Calabrian chile honey, or the "Peach Pie" because why not, it's summer! Service was okay, but it was also such a busy time of a day that everyone was just doing the best they could. All in all, highly recommend if in the area and looking for a lovely time/afternoon.
