Here's how we dined: Skinny Marinny ( a nightly special and I don't remember what was in it, but it was good and not too sweet): 3.5 stars $16 EASY MONEY gin | basil | lime | grapefruit : Very tasty 4.5 stars $15.5 Oysters; 1Beau Soleil, 1 St. Simon: incredible fresh and briny, loved the cucumber granite. Special Tomato Salad: 4.5 stars $18 A very scant name for a delicious combo of rich and creamy buratta, heirloom tomatoes and a pesto dressing. Not really the best time of year to make tomatoes the star, but the combo brought out their best. Wood Grilled Duck: 5+ stars $47 I was a little worried that wood grilling might dry out the duck, but this was probably the best duck I've ever had. The leg was tender with crispy skin and the breast was wonderfully juicy, without being too rare. the fig compote on top was very earthy and not too sweet. I even liked the roasted carrots, and I rarely like cooked carrots. Wood Grilled Sword Fish: 5 stars $41 T ordered this it was roasted perfectly. the accompanying butterbeans with roasted tomatoes and shisito peppers was not at all over powering. The service was absolutely perfect! I wasn't exactly sure who did which job, because all the servers seemed to do everything. No one said that's not my table or not my job. Now that we know it's only a little over an hour away (if it's not rush hour), I think it might become a destination meal for us every so often. Curated furniture are displayed on the first and second floors. The third floor is where the magic happens, with its iconic chandeliers, elegant fountain, and olive trees creating a stunning ambiance. No matter where you're seated, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the Corte Madera outdoor mall and surrounding hills. The warm welcome at check-in set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. We were seated inside, and the views didn't disappoint. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I ordered a glass of white wine while my partner enjoyed a mimosa. The restaurant doesn't offer a full cocktail bar, but that wasn't an issue for us. The menu offers a great selection, but I already knew what I wanted after browsing it before our reservation. I ordered the whole grilled branzino with grilled broccolini, and my partner chose the lobster roll. Both dishes were beautifully presented. My deboned branzino was cooked perfectly--moist and flaky with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. The seasoning was simple, just the way I like it, allowing the flavors of the extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon to shine. The broccolini was perfectly cooked with a bright citrus finish. Even my partner, who isn't usually a seafood fan, really enjoyed both the fish and the broccolini. The fish was incredibly fresh with no fishy aroma, and the broccolini had the perfect al dente texture. My partner's lobster roll was equally impressive. The lobster was sweet, tender, and generously portioned, served on perfectly toasted brioche that complemented the filling without overpowering it. The portion sizes were just right. We didn't need a to-go box and we left feeling completely satisfied without feeling overly full. Although we skipped dessert, we were celebrating a milestone, and our thoughtful waiter surprised us with a warm chocolate chip cookie. It was absolutely delicious--fresh from the oven with melted, gooey chocolate in every bite. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful meal. Service throughout our visit was prompt and friendly, and every staff member we encountered was welcoming. The side of slaw was light, refreshing, and delicious on a bed of lettuce. Exactly what you'd want with the heavier fried fish. There are a few things that hold this place back and may ultimately seal its fate in closure. They have nothing to do with the food or service which was very good as noted above. This review if 5 yelp stars for good reason. But, if Bazille wants to survive and thrive it may want to consider some modifications in concert with the Nordstrom store itself. This isn't really about the prices. They were not out of line for local dining of similar far. However, in a department store setting you want the dining experience to be a loss leader / lead magnet to get shoppers in and keep them longer. And, inside there should be SOME link to the store. Why did no one offer to help me find the purse my wife was shopping for that day? Why was there not a thank you coupon for dining good only for this visit (kind of like parking validation but for shopping). We were not offered a coffee or tea. For the fee this would cost nearly nothing an make the upscale Nordstrom experience, which we LOVE, all the better. The franchise is leaving a lot off the table here and there's no reason economically. Why are the sales people on the floor not offering a free desert to try out the restaurant? I think you get my point by now. The experience is disconnected from the Nordstrom experience. Much more can be done. The experience, and it is meant to be an experience like the Nordstrom experience. It does fall a little short there. Look at Restoration Hardware's efforts. You literally sit in their furniture which you could purchase on the spot if you wanted; for example. You dine on their dishes... etc. Back to the prices. I could go to any restaurant nearby for similar prices and fare. So, subsidizing with accoutrements or just money would fill the seats. The place is nice. The staff is nice. It's just bolted on the side as an after thought and that may be its undoing over time. That would be a shame because the intent is clearly something more.

The other pizzas were solid, although they were your more typical pizza combos (cheese, mushroom, meat combo). We spotted buffalo milk gelato on the dessert menu, so we ordered a round of scoops to finish off our lunch. Our party ordered a round of margaritas, and menu standouts included the burger, fried chicken sandwich (the paprika aioli is stellar), the kale salad (topped with chickpeas, quinoa, walnuts, and more), grilled cheeses for the kiddos, and the "Burning Love" pizza. There's a little bit of something for everyone on the menu here, and everything was so fresh, comforting, and just elevated. The meat in the burger was something to highlight, and I loved the thick cut fries. I would try a pizza on the next trip like the "Swim Club" served with Calabrian chile honey, or the "Peach Pie" because why not, it's summer! I really love the chill vibe at Mill Valley Lumber Yard as a pit stop which will now become my ultimate roadtrip pit stop.
