No where to follow up to manager/owner's response to my original review, so I'm writing here to tell Tyler H. that we WERE seated in one of the rooms off to the side, not the main dining room. And it was STILL way too loud. We were not in the big room with the TVs. If you enter the restaurant and are facing that great fire feature on the wall, we were to the right, in that room. The room where you can see everyone enter the restaurant (but not the big room). And it was still too loud to hear ourselves after the first 1/2 hr. If there is an even quieter room, we'd love to know. Because we loved the food! But we'd hesitate to come back unless we arrived right when the restaurant opened (EARLY!) and were not planning to stay long. So, please do let us know if there is an even quieter room. First time here Saturday night. This is a high energy place with sports bar atmosphere in the main dining area. Ancillary area if you want a somewhat quieter inside seating. Outdoor patio also. Food options appetizers and main plates, pizzas. We spilt a mixed greens salad with nice tangy sherry vinegar dressing topped with radish coins and cucumber. The pizza fungi mushrooms and supplemented with sausage was great. A chicken(roasted) pieces on a bed of green garbanzo humus was good. The server Alicia was outstanding. As is the case these days, there is not enough server help in Marin County restaurants. Alicia knocked herself out in trying to take care of two sides of the restaurant. Literally she could have been on roller skates. She was extremely gracious and did her best to check in with us several times. The management needs to find more help while recognizing what a jewel they have in Alicia. read more

Came here for a late lunch and was happy to discover they have a daily happy hour, even on weekends. My teenage son had the happy hour burger ($5) that was outstanding and free fries (with Instagram check in). We had a couple of appetizers and would highly recommend the pork belly steamed buns. A couple at the next table ordered onion rings that looked amazing. This all made for a very nice afternoon on the patio, we even watched a game on the outdoor TV. Been twice - the staff is fantastic and the food is consistently good. Cimarron was one of the BEST waiters I've ever had (and, I'm told, usually bartends) - knowledgeable about the menu and truly excellent customer service. And when we came the week after opening, Eva the hostess stepped in to lend a hand on an especially busy night - she was super friendly and responsive. (Promote that woman to server!) Food favorites: citrus salad was amazing, steelhead was very good (had it both times and appreciated that the preparation varies), chicken was a little dry but the Turkish pilaf was exceptional. read more

I went yesterday to have a burger and it was really good. They forgot the bacon I asked for but even that I didn't mind because it was cooked to perfection, the bun also held together and the lettuce and tomato were fresh and tasty and the fries were decent. The "way to go" (Wagyu) beef was also noticeably better than any burger I have had in Marin for some time. I will return... Got a Reuben, it was outstanding!!! read more

I went here for dinner with some friends. I asked the waiter about the shepherds pie which he said was delicious. The shepherds pie was inedible. Sweet jackfruit had been used instead of savory and it was bland. I asked for salt and that didn't help the situation. I am not a picky eater and even I could not get this down! read more

This is a beautiful restaurant with fabulous food. We shared the popcorn, Hamachi crudo, Ajax fries, red hot chili poppers, Vietnamese wings and the pork belly steamed buns. Each was unique and delicious. The fries were the perfect cut, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. They stayed hot and crispy for the whole meal. The red hot chili poppers had just the right heat and mix of delicious cheese stuffing and breading. The wings and the buns were both flavorful and fresh. We shared a Salsicca pizza as well. The crust and combination of flavors were perfect. The serving were plentiful for appetizers and we were full but we couldn't decide on dessert so we had four of them. I think the sticky toffee pudding with chantilly cream was my favorite but each of the other desserts were picked as someone's favorite as well. My sister-in-law loved the huckleberry Pana cotta, my husband preferred the lemon tart and my sister loved the brownie sundae. The cocktails were outstanding and the service was fast and attentive. Hands down one of the best reuben sandwiches you'll ever eat. Apparently it's the chef/recipe from the old Shorty Goldstein's downtown. The rest of the stuff we ordered (wings, pork belly buns) were just so-so. Beer list was decent. The venue feels a little too big and overwrought and not sure about the layout of the some of the bar seats that aren't at the bar. Feels like those seats are on top of the tables. Also not sure what the identify of this place is. Sports bar with higher quality food? Hotel bar? Restaurant with a few TVs? Will go again just for the reuben and a few pints. But still can't figure out if this will be a go-to spot otherwise. read more

The Hubs and I were staying next door at the Holiday Inn and dropped in for dinner after a day exploring the Marin Coast. The restaurant was very busy and we put our name on the list with a 45 minute wait time for 2. Once the wait was up, the service and quality of food was 4 stars. We ordered two cocktails, the Rueben sandwich and the pepper poppers. The poppers can be skipped, somewhere the flavor was perfume tasting. The goat cheese was to liquified and spilled out once the pepper was cut. I might recommend switching to cream cheese to keep the cool and creamy flavor with the heat of the pepper. I love goat cheese, but this didn't work. The Rueben was fabulous! We split the sandwich with the fries and it was plenty. I typically don't care for steak fries as they are not crunchy, but these were cooked perfect. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful. We look forward to dropping in again on our next getaway. read more

Thank you for being open for take out. We loved our Ruebens for St Patrick's day yesterday. They are huge and made with homemade rye bread. Delicious. My husband and I ate here for the first time about two weeks and the restaurant was jammed at 6:30 and jumping. Yesterday when I called to place my order the person answering the phone was ecstatic. I was the first person to call all day and he couldn't believe I wanted to order 4 Ruebens. Please use Floodwater for takeout over the next few weeks to help them stay afloat. It's a new restaurant so I am sure closing for a few weeks will be tough for them. Once things are back to normal we will be frequent diners to pay them back. read more

I love the pastrami, very authentic Jewish delicatessen style, on rye bread, with fresh house pickles *chef kiss* I love going here, and if there is any wait there is a beautiful trail to walk in the meantime. This place is really good and fun to go to after work my only peeve is that I always get the same waiter and he never pays attention to our table, some guy with a greasy ponytail. My husband and I had dinner here on night 2 and we couldn't believe how together the entire staff and kitchen were. The hostess (Mo) was very engaging and accommodating, and came back to check on us halfway through dinner. Our waiter, Rob, was excellent - very good waiting skills, thoroughly knowledgeable about each dish on the menu as well as the cocktails and wine list. From end to end the staff was very welcoming and professional. Now the food. One of the signature dishes is the Vietnamese chicken wing appetizer, and it was very good. But there were some other surprising highlights. The house made sausage appetizer was excellent. The beet salad was exceptional, with a Middle Eastern flair with sprouted lentils and yogurty Labneh. But what really blew our socks off was the pasta dish, cacio e pepe - a simple dish of spaghetti, pecorino and cracked pepper. Because of its simplicity it is an easy dish to half-ass and make uninteresting. We had this dish in Italy over the summer and were interested to see if it could be pulled off in the U.S. The kitchen somehow captured the essence of Rome on the plate with his perfectly cooked fresh pasta and well-balanced additions of cheese and pepper. We had ordered the dish to share and my husband and I nearly came to blows over it! We are planning to return to Floodwater many times. read more

All the one and two stars for this restaurant do not do it justice! Covid is a hard thing to cope with especially for a new up and running business let alone restaurant business with rules and regulations. I have to say the brothers who own the place really created a homey lovely decor with plenty of TVS to watch important events and games. The bar is fully stocked with fantastic drinks and looks decadent. After a little hiccup with seating arrangements we were able to sit down and enjoy the environment. We ordered several alcoholic drinks and beers which were nice and ice cold on tap. They even stayed open past closing to attend to all the guests who were still dining in, including us. Our server was upbeat and amazing! We ordered the tavern fries, pork belly buns, vietnamese chicken wings, beet salad, wagyu burger, and positano pizza, and let me tell you the buns, wings, and pizza are a HIT! So flavorful and delicious! Please give this place a try, you won't regret it. Will definitely be coming back, compliments to the chef and the amazing staff members! read more

First off, great space. Frantoia had great food, but the interior was cavernous and banquet hall-like. So what the Buckeye group has done to transform and tame the expanse is impressive. The bar area is classy, comfortable, and attractive. The bartender was busy, but attentive, and accommodating to everyone. Above the bar, there's an array of TV screens, but they're high enough to be tuned out if you're not into watching sports. Plus, the ambient music is pretty good. But the food was disappointing, apart from the fries, which were chunky but perfectly cooked. The green salad was pretty, but over-dressed and soggy, which is easily rectified and bound to be better next time. The Reuben was indeed generously proportioned, but strangely bland. The rye bread was terrific, but the other key ingredients lacked flavor, including the meat, which needed a more intense mustard, and the cabbage, which had nowhere near enough vinegar to make it qualify as sauerkraut. So, in short, while the rest of the menu looks enticing, we're going to hold off on dinner at Floodwater for now. Now that we've gotten our feet wet there, we're going to stick to the drinks and bar food for a while. Try another salad eventually, and then maybe work up to the Halibut Meunière. We're just not there yet, though. read more

I decided to treat myself to a meal of comfort food and have some leftovers for the next day. I ordered delivery and got the Reuben, chicken matzo ball soup, and the strawberry tart. Everything was packaged nicely and the portions were generous, definitely plenty for 2 meals. It arrived nice and warm and the ingredients seemed of good quality. The Reuben looked amazing...but had no taste. It was quite bland, even with all the traditional toppings in place. I was really disappointed. The soup was tasty, as was the strawberry tart. We ate at Floodwater Sat eve and the food although aesthetically pleasing and palatable was bland n had no flavor. Price was in the higher end range too. They ordered a zucchini and desert dish and set the cup on recycled note paper. When I asked the bus boy about why he did that he stated that "they didn't have any coasters and it was to prevent the dish from sliding on the plate(It looked very tacky and unprofessional)! We ordered 2 glasses of wine and it tasted flat so I asked the African american waitress to bring us another chardonnay that was "more buttery" and she stated she did but it tasted just like the original at $ 6.00 more? They need a better chief like the one at "the Kitchen Table" in San Rafael or "the Guesthouse" to keep customers coming back for food otherwise the bar will not support the place and it will die in a year. Kosher food is fine if u want to eat traditional/New York deli style food but Marin faces a crowd with higher culinary expectations. read more

I was both sad and excited to see the dated and a bit tired Frantoio end as it was a great place to have a meal where you could actually have a conversation and the waitstaff was superb. Tonight we tried out Flood Water. What an incredible waste of a great space! Although... I will say the art is fabulous. It may be the only saving grace of the place. The weird /fake fireplace in the entrance seems silly and has no function other than to attract shrill reactions to the visual theatrics. The server was s-l-o-w beyond belief. We would have ordered a dessert and more drinks had she actually been attentive. It took 15 minutes to get a second glass of wine. The fellow who was clearing tables was more attentive and aware than any of the waitstaff. He should be working the front. In fact, he seemed to be the only one awake in the place. The front desk/hostesses acted like giddy high school girls with loud, obnoxious and dramatic outbursts and a general lack of sophistication. The decibels are at 8 or 9 on a 10 point scale with a bit too loud music on top of the hostesses screaming about seemingly nothing. The menu is strange and uneven. Someone needs to re-think the whole thing. The food was OK but nothing amazing. My main complaint is the service. The wait staff seems inexperienced, un-engaged and unable to keep up the pace. Terrible pasta dish: cacio e pepe. It was so over salted and mushy, I sent it back. We shared the Reuben my husband ordered instead which was bland and had to ask for thousand island on the side. Later, the waiter brought back what was supposed to be an improved version of the pasta although I never asked for that. It was also not good. He charged us for us for the dish comped my wine which was less expensive than the pasta--I don't understand that logic! I would not bother giving this place another chance. read more

OMG! I left so stuffed and happy that I had a hard time staying awake on the drive home to Santa Rosa. Totally worth the trip down for such a tastebud tantalizing experience. :) Drinks were solid and tasty (a couple old fashions), the food from apps, to main course, to dessert where all AMAZING, and the place is absolutely beautiful! The only downside was that our server (Francisco) was a bit off on his attentiveness to our tables needs, but that isn't a deal breaker for me since the rest of the staff helped in some spots he lacked and even the Chef (Mike Siegel) was one to assist us with share plates at one time when he stopped by to see how we were enjoying our appetizers. Loved his passion for his creations on the menu that we enjoyed (and will enjoy in the future when we go back) and can tell that he is very skilled in his profession. Don't know which was worse, the food or the service. I'm a long time Tam Valley resident and was really excited for this new restaurant especially as it's from the same folks who own Bungalow and Buckeye. When we walked in we were ignored by the hostess. Truthfully stood there with her back to us for 2-3 min before acknowledging us. When we finally got seated no one came to our table for probably 15 minutes. We had to wave someone over and ask if there was someone working our section. She came back and said there was but they weren't available so she'd take our orders!?! Then the food. To summarize, Chicken Matzah soup that had no chicken and no seasoning for any sort of flavor, ordered the beet salad and got overdressed local green salad and my daughters Cacio e Pepe pasta was a sloppy mess of angel hair pasta and a green that was either kale or broccoli - neither of which belong in Cacio e Pepe. It was pretty much inedible. This was our second visit to Floodwater. The first visit was obviously good enough to return but now won't go back. I'm very disappointed as I had high hopes for a great family restaurant so close to home. read more
