    Menu - and great prices

Firstly I love that they are hustling and have many options for Tamales! You will find the cart located most likely on the right side of Cardenas parking lot on the sidewalk. The prices are great! The size is a normal tamale so get a couple I appreciate that they have a variety to pick from when it comes to flavors. The downside for me is that the Queso con Rajas (cheese with chilies) is a pass - the cheese, even when the tamale is hot is hard and no melted. I would come back for the convenience and price

Tamales Dona Lupe is a food cart on Bancroft ave. in front of Wyss. they are here every day. weekends the whole day. weekends scheduled for 12:30 but not showing up on time lately. offerings: tamales (1.5 or 12 for $15) pollo (chicken). puerco (pork) queso con rajas (cheese with whole chile), elote (corn) -tamales are smaller than other vendors, has a good amount of tasty stuffings. less masa, spicer salsa. -not sure they are mexican tamales, they could be salvadoran or honduran. they are tasty. 4.5 good value. tasty. small tamales. take outs: -no dining area. -parking limited.

Green Chicken, Red Pork, Cheese & Jalapeno, Pineapple, and the Green Sauce!

In the Cardenas parking lot and now on DoorDash with pick up or delivery options, but it's $25 per 12 there, so just go pick up w/o the app! Masa is great. Good size. Nice and warm. The pineapple is so delicious, but the cheese and jalapeno is my favorite. Everything is so flavorful. And the Green Sauce!!!

This is a no frills tamale cart, so leave your BS about plating and utensils at home. Come to eat the best moist tamales, have Carlos speedily hook you up, enjoy stuffing your face, and then buy 12 more tamales for $15 to take home. Real bang for your buck. I really enjoyed the corn tamales, but I couldn't get a picture in because I was too busy eating them. They take cash, Venmo, zelle. No credit cards, but don't whine because the tamales are worth it. They're located on the south side of the Cardenas market, if you can't find them it's your loss.

It's not the most convenient and typical location. More of an Oakland food adventure, you can to see more of the local vibes of food offerings. The spot is marked with the spinning trompo and this is their specialty. We sat down and our al pastor taco orders were off. They were definitely busy during lunch time and we were able to snag a table. Food is definitely made to order and sprinkled with pineapple. The al pastor was nicely charred and tasty. Table side salsa provides the option of the green salsa or fiery spicy red. The red salsa kicks a bunch but it burns so good. There's also pickled onions just beware of the orange slices as those seem to be habaneros. The staff are super friendly and we'll be coming back for more cravings. Cash only.

It had never been on my radar before, but after seeing some buzz about it on r/oaklandfood on Reddit, I had to try it. All I can say is: WOW. Do you know how The Cheesecake Factory has a massive menu with 200 items, none of which are done well? This is the exact opposite. They do one thing--Puebla-style al pastor, cooked on a trompo--and they have completely mastered it. The al pastor was cooked to perfection--not oily or greasy at all (which some places struggle with). The meat-to-tortilla ratio was spot-on, and the pineapple chunks were fresh, a real treat, and perfectly proportioned. A really nice touch is that the plate came with a flat tostada shell, so you can scoop up any filling that falls out. They offer two types of salsa picante: Salsa roja - Flavorful and seriously spicy Salsa verde - Milder but still delicious One word of caution: onions with habanero slices are on the tables. They are delicious but go slow--I overdid it and had to take a break. The stand has plenty of seating, it's very clean, and the people running it are super friendly and happy to answer questions. This is a top-tier taco spot. Highly recommend checking it out! Cash and Zelle / no credit cards
