Even though it had been a couple of days and i warmed it in the microwave, the masa was still very moist.

Don't forget to take a picture by the "Cinco Puntos" sign on the wall and the well-known tree nearby! The food was edible, I ordered a carnitas taco with chicharrón. The meat itself was flavorful, chicharron nice and crunchy and I liked that you get to choose your own toppings. The tortillas are handmade, which many people will appreciate, although they were a little thicker than I personally prefer. If you enjoy authentic, handmade tortillas, this place may be more your style. The service was the highlight of our visit. Everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and kind. It was an extremely hot day, and one of the ladies even gave my daughter a small bag of ice to play with and cool off, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Thank you for going the extra mile. There is a small parking lot, and we were able to find street parking right in front near the outdoor tables. The outside seating area was perfectly fine for enjoying our meal. The biggest downside for me was the cleanliness inside the restaurant. While nothing prevented us from eating there, I felt the interior could really benefit from a deep cleaning. Overall, I'm glad we visited and experienced such a well-known East L.A. landmark. While I probably wouldn't return because it wasn't quite my personal preference, I can still recommend it to anyone looking for authentic carnitas, handmade tortillas, and a piece of East Los Angeles history.

He just needed to lick the plate lol I had a chile relleno with white rice and pinto beans. I'm glad they didn't add cheese to my beans like other places. I hate it when they put jack cheese So just with that I give them a star. I had a cántarito and it was nice refreshing, not heavy on alcohol nor sour. They have great music playing and art thru out the restaurant. They also have a patio in the back for bigger parties. It's a cute open patio. Thank you Ashley for such great service, attentiveness professionalism. The owners were very sweet, polite and attentive. Great and humbled owners. One of them who is the chef also came out to take a picture with us while the other owner shared a story with us of one of his paintings. Great Mexican gem.

The people who work there are so friendly and kind, and the food is amazing. I still remember the crema de chicharron soup that I had the first time we went, and the chile en nogada and enchiladas tres moles are so delicious--they're my family's favorites, but you really can't go wrong. It's so hard to describe what makes them so wonderful; you taste so many different ingredients and yet the flavors balance so perfectly. Whatever the soup of the day is, you should get it; they're all delicious, especially the crema de chile poblano. My wife and I don't live close by, so we can only make it out here every few months. But for years, it's been our place to come for date nights or special occasions--birthdays, anniversaries--and you only have to look around the restaurant to know that it's the same for many other families, too. It's a beautiful and welcoming place to come, with so much art and often live music; it just feels full of life on a busy dinner shift. During the pandemic, we were still coming here when nobody was eating indoors; we'd drive an hour to Bell, pick up our take-out, and eat in the car. And in the middle of all the grief and uncertainty of that time, it was still such a treat. More than a treat; something joyful and soulful in such a hard time. We went to La Casita last night for our anniversary, and we saw Chef Jaime chatting in the parking lot with a friend (who turned out to be an artist working on murals for the restaurant). We recognized him and said a quick hi, and we were going to keep walking, because we didn't expect that he'd know us. But he recognized us, even though it's been a while, and he was so warm and welcoming. He even called the restaurant to order us a glass of wine on the house for our anniversary. We were really touched. And, as always, we had a delicious dinner and fabulous time. If you've never been, I hope you give La Casita a try. We love it so much, and I think you will, too. P.S. Get the jamaica margarita.

Before I got my food they served me a bowl a noodle soup. I ordered 2 chicken and one cheese and they did not charge extra for a different filling. The chicken enchiladas were great. The cheese was the thicker cojita cheese, it was good but not what I'm used to, I was expecting melted cheese. The rice was great, I don't usually like rice from Mexican places it's usually dry or not very flavorful, this rice was perfect. The decor inside is vibrant and colorful and there are a couple sticker and candy and one claw machine inside. Although, I rode my bike there, there is easy parking if you drive. They also gave me a free gift bag with candy and popcorn in it.

My wife and I went to try this restaurant in East L.A. called MI Casita Poblana. This restaurant is small but a very beautiful interior with Mexican art including painting it feels like a musuem in Mexico show it's true color of Mexico. We look at the menu display but the owner/chef hand a menu told us to sit and look at menu and decided what to order. My wife order the La Mexicana plate comes with rice and black beans and three hand made blue corn tortillas and I order the Mole Poblano de Pollo it's chicken cones with rice and black beans and chef came hand soupa de fideo the soup was very good before our arrival. Everything at the restaurant is made fresh and made to order using fresh ingredients daily. The chef came with our meal it looks so fabulous including the blue corn tortillas. I took a bite of my Mole Poblano the chicken was so tender and full of flavor with mole bring little sweet and little bit of heat that everything together in this dish. With blue corn tortillas add more flavor pulling the mole and chicken was so good with layers of incredible flavors. The rice have intense of flavors then I mix it with mole wow great flavors, the black beans were very good in flavor. My wife enjoy her La Mexicana plate and happy with her meal.
