I definitely would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. I bought a new 50 Gal hot water heater in January 2020 for over $3400. It started making loud noises every time the hot water was turned on in the house. I spoke with Victor who identified himself as the owner. I wanted his company to come out and check and repair it . He kept telling me it was no longer under warranty. I didn't care about the warranty, only thought they could work on it since they installed. He again kept talking about the warranty. I just wanted it fixed which he refused to come out. I will never use this company again, and also told the real estate agents that referred me the situation. This company obviously does NOT stand by the products they install. Such a waste of time and money. I am going through another company and buying a new water heater. read more

You may think I'm biased, but Chris Roper wouldn't hear of garnering unearned praise. He is a good guy, and it comes through in his professional service. Today's job was not a big one, but the experience overall has been worthy of genuine praise. We called yesterday, and were offered a 2-hour window btwn 10-12 today. Chris called around 9:15 asking if he could come by earlier, which we gladly accepted. Chris' laid-back, yet professional demeanor is a comfort in what can easily be a stressful situation. Most people think "plumber" is synonymous with "bank account drainage". Yes, plumbers can be expensive, and justly so. But we were offered a very fair rate for the job, along with the assurance that they were just a phone call away if needed. That's all I have to say about that. I called Tamalpais Plumbing on the basis of the three other reviews that came before me and I was not disappointed. Chris arrived on time during the designated time frame and placed a phone call to let us know he was on his way. We had two problematic toilets and one leaky faucet, which he seemed to fix with ease. He was in and out in less than an hour, even after taking care of a couple of related issues that were beyond the scope of the work. Chris charged us such a reasonable price that we didn't feel right to try to redeem the $50 off coupon that we found in a local coupon mailer. We'll save that for another job as we now have a plumber we feel good about. read more

Not an honest plumber. As other reviews have pointed out, they hook you with their $50 off + free hot water flush promotion and then don't honor it. I responded to this promotion and the owner came out and told me he needed a part for a shower faucet repair. I presented the coupon and 6 months later and at least three follow up conversations and he has never come back to complete the repair and honor the coupon. read more

Chris at Tamalpais Plumbing is superb. We had a sewage line back up into our bathroom and it was getting pretty desperate. Several days of peeing at the grocery store across the street wasn't going to cut it anymore! We called Chris and he was so helpful. He took the info and quote we had gotten from another plumber and beat it by almost half! He scheduled us for the next morning. He showed up with a helper to dig out the pipe and replace it. We needed some additional work done and he did it in the same amount of time that was originally quoted. He even took some precautionary measures to make sure our sewer pipes dont back up into the house again. Stellar experience with our first plumbing catastrophe. Thank you Chris for helping us! Chris Roper is polite, respectful, competent, honest, responsible, punctual and flexible -- absolutely everything you want in a plumber. I called him for a second opinion after the first plumber that came out told me he needed to jackhammer the floor in my utility closet and replace broken pipes in the ground. Chris came out, said he thought the problem could be more easily resolved, then came back with his colleague and replaced the parts and fixtures with no jackhammering, replaced the sheetrock he had to remove and installed a new water heater. I was on the east coast while he was doing all this, and he called midway to give me a progress report, which I really appreciated.
