Jim took care of all my needs in one visit. Replaced the toilet flabber and valve that was broken. Snaked the bathtub drain and re-aligned the drain plate to ensure a quick drain. The bonus was he also know appliances and my dryer had been screeching for weeks and he was able to take it apart and replace the rusted idler and belt and now it hums quietly again. I chose Jim because he was the closest to the house and seemed like a well rated local small business. He personally answered the phone, asked some good qualifying questions to determine that I really needed his help, and then was on site in a matter of hours. It wasn't clear exactly what was wrong with the dryer but he quickly narrowed it down to a few possibilities before doing an electrical continuity test. Then he had the exact part required to fix the dryer on him. Finally he helped clean up the lint that was all over the inside of the machine and wrapped up the job. I really appreciated the ease with which he correctly diagnosed the issue and his preparation of having the correct parts with him. All of his tools and parts were efficiently squared away on his motorcycle. He also shared his experience in a friendly way.... why clean up a machine if you don't know if it is repairable yet! I hope I can get by without more service from Jim but if I do I know who I will call. read more

Here comes the Magician! The drain pump on my 15+ years old Maytag washer had given out. Jim arrived within 30 minutes of my call, spend a couple of hours with the machine and replaced both pump and ancient water supply hoses, both of which he "magically"had with him in the voluminous saddle bags of his motorcycle- all for a reasonable charge, and some lively philosophical conversation in the mix. All the 5-star ratings for Jim are as they should be, when you get your problem fixed. However, those who are told they need to replace their appliance are less likely to post any rating as they just pay the fee for visit dispose of old appliance and buy a new one. So if you are okay with "why fix when you can buy new" philosophy, then Jim might be right for you. However, I was not ready to spend that much to replace so I paid another appliance repair company to diagnosis fee and had my appliance repaired for under $200. Jim told me I needed to replace my appliance which would've cost me well over $2,000, rather than being honest and telling me he didn't have the right equipment (because it likely wouldn't fit on his motorcycle, or perhaps wasn't licensed to do the repair that was needed. read more

During this corona virus pandemic my dryer stopped working on a Saturday. I called Jim in the morning and he was at my house the same day within several hours. I was concerned that no one would be available due to the conditions we are going through and also since it happened during a weekend day. Jim fixed my old dryer and certainly saved me from having to either put my wet clothes in my car and go to my brothers' house and use his dryer or a laundromat to dry the clothes, or have to shop and purchase a new dryer at this difficult time we are all going through.
