Absolute atrocious excuse for a "fine dining" restaurant. I have given this place 3 tries and every time was horrible. Dinner 2x and Sunday brunch once. The only reason this place is so busy on Sundays is because nothing else is open. The water tastes like chlorine, they throw a giant brown paper bag on top of a dollar store table cloth atop an old card table. The food is not fine dining. It tastes like old hotel food from a buffet. It's tacky and not to mention Tamara is rude. I took one bite out of my meal and did not like it. My daughter was screaming so I left with her to save the other patrons the nuisance. My husband and mom asked for the meal to be taken off the bill and the waitress said no and said she couldn't "because I left" they explained why and asked to speak to Tamara. Tamara said the same thing and even commented on how I took a bite of the dish, well duh that's how I knew I didn't like it. She finally agreed to remove the item off the bill after first refusing. ANY fine dining restaurant you go to will gladly remove something from the bill if you were unsatisfied, touched or untouched. I will never return. Save your money and go to a real fine dining restaurant where they don't serve you on a card table with a glass of chlorine. read more

Great 1st time experience, got there early to take part of the excellent 3 to 6pm Happy Hour with 2$ beers, 5$ wine, & Martinis with alot of great 5$ Appetizers. We started with beverages and the smoked tuna dip and some boom boom shrimp, all great good portions and delicious. Ordered Blackened Mahi and the Filet both excellent side were also plentiful and delicious. The owner Tamara even came by and spoke with us and our experience. First time here for dinner The restaurant was recommended by friends. The service was very good and the DDT's was delicious. I had the sea bass. Very buttery and cooked perfectly. My party also had the prime rib which was flavorful and tender and the jubilee pasta with garlic sauce which was also delicious. On 12/2/22 around 5 pm my wife and I ordered Prime ribs. My prime rib was ordered medium rare but it came to me as rare, which was okay. Unfortunately, this is the WORST prime rib I ever had (and I have had many). It was a large cut and full of connective tissue, and silver skin made it impossible to cut, or eat. This steak should have never been served!!! My wife's prime rib was okay, and she was nice enough to give me half of her steak. The restaurant and waitress were getting busy and hurriedly stopped by to drop off the check. I was unable to voice my concern regarding the steak because everyone was busy! Went for Sunday brunch very nice place in downtown Fairhope. Great selection you could order off the brunch menu or the regular menu. $1.50 mimosas or poinsettias. The chicken and waffles were delicious,very large portion with your choice of hash browns or grits. My family likes to come here so on visits to Fairhope, we make it a point to stop in. The ambiance is listed as "classy" but it is more casual due to the nature of the town in general. It is good for happy hour as they have great deals if you are looking for that. The blackened mahi is delicious. The wine selection is "OK". The noise level is through the roof so if you want to hear your neighbor,skip this place. Yes, it is kid friendly as well which adds to the noise. It is such a shame to have all the skills it takes to make it in this business and then treat your staff so horrible. You are a witch. I spend a measurable amount of money in your business because you serve delicious food at a reasonable price. One day you will loose it all because your employees will walk out. I've been here twice - both for group work dinners (11 people and 17 people respectively.) Each time they did an amazing job. From our servers being perfectly attentive to the kitchen timing everyone's food just right, it was a nice experience. Usually restaurants struggle with big groups, but not here. My husband and I are working a job in Clear Point and went to Tamara's for dinner last night, based on high recommendations from our colleagues. Unfortunately we weren't impressed at all. We were greeted by a woman who had no personality whatsoever. We were disappointed when we found out she was actually our server. Jade never introduced herself. I had to ask her what her name was. We could tell she didn't want to be there, she couldn't even force herself to smile. We split the prime rib dinner. The Caesar salad was very good. Our server actually pulled our bread plates and she removed our salad plate. Why would you set a table with a bread plate and never give a customer a chance to use it??? The bread came on the dinner plate??? The Brussels sprouts were hard to chew as well as the prime rib. I could barely cut the meat with the steak knife which was served on the plate. The handle of the knife was on top of the meat which made the knife dirty. We were only able to eat about 40% of the meat. It would've been nice to be able to use that plate for the brussels sprouts and meat I couldn't chew up or swallow. Instead I put the waste on the paper liner on top of the table. She removed my plate and proceeded to take the ramekin with the ajus sauce my husband was still eating. She actually stuck her finger in the sauce and my husband said she can now take it because she stuck her finger in it. She chuckled about it. We didn't think it was funny at all. I've been in the restaurant industry for over 40 years and I'm currently a manager at a seafood restaurant. This is actually the very first time that I've ever Yelped a business. The only reason I gave one star is because it's the least I can give. So I'll apply the one star to the salad. I hope the server can take this poor yelp as an opportunity to improve her service skills. read more

Today was my first time in Tamara's. I'm from out of town and came w locals that have lived here for years. The atmosphere is great. Our server started out very pleasant and as the lunch crowd for busier she was not as friendly and a little w one of her comments to of the people at our table. Fried green tomatoes were over fried. My salmon blt once I ate through half the sandwich was raw and had to be sent back. They cooked it thoroughly and it was very good. The grilled buffalo chicken was excellent as well and burger. I would give it another try however as it does have a nice reputation and sometimes it's just not the server or the cooks day. It happens! read more

Beautiful decor, nice restaurant/atmosphere, but the flavor is just not there. Ordered Fried Green Tomatoes with crab and hollandaise on top. Needed more hollandaise. Way too much crab on top, smelled horrible, the fishy smell was overpowering, almost smelled like crab out of a frozen package or can. Tomatoes were good. Salad: very little ranch on it, tasted exactly like a simple Kraft ranch. I had the Seafood Risotto. Risotto was cooked excellent, nice and tender. But was topped with the smelly crab meat. Also had crawfish, shrimp and one scallop. Had a absolutely zero seasoning in risotto or shrimp. 100% bland dish. Definitely needs some Cajun seasoning or even use salt and pepper. Scallop was seared beautifully, but bland as well. Needs improvement. read more

Tamara's is one of the upper crust restaurants but without a doubt, it's worth every penny. Cocktail hour has amazing snacks for $5 and lowered prices on drinks. Friends and I love gathering here when it's time for a girls night out. The entrees are delicious and my friend is hooked on the all you can eat crab claws. Hubby ordered the filet and wow, it was so tender it could have melted in your mouth. Tamara has always been known for serving top-notch food in her restaurants. Lot of locals eat here and I think, you will pleased with whatever you choose. I highly recommend this long time establishment! read more

We meet often for Happy hour and chose Tamara's. Unfortunately the waiter ruined the evening. He seemed impatient and annoyed, he acted like he was doing us a favor.
