We have been going to the castle rock location for a couple years now. A couple weeks ago we had an issue with our drinks. Beers were flat and incorrect. Tonight we ordered some naan to go. Just naan. Got home and it was completely burned on one side. $14 for two ordered of burned naan. The photo was part of a piece that was edible. Really enjoyed our meal here stopped in on a whim. We were in the area running errands and decided to grab an early dinner sat outside on their patio, which was very nice and decorated. The food itself came out super fast and was super good. A great Indian restaurant if you're in the Castle Rock area. When we got there, it seemed dead for 5 pm, but once we got seated it started to fill up quickly. We started off with the Gobi Manchurian, highly recommend if you like cauliflower! Or even if you're unsure. We also shared the chicken tikka masala with a side of cheese naan. The cheese naan is to die for. I normally always get the garlic naan, but was convinced to try something new. I'm hooked. PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS!!! Over $100 to feed my family of 4, so I didn't go and won't be going back. I'm officially done with Zaika.

Second time at Zaika was excellent. Chicken curry was yummy. I went with medium hot this time (instead of medium), and that pushed it over the top. The cheese naan was great. I had the momo as well (dumplings with a buttery tomato sauce) as an experiment. Should have remembered dumplings are not my favorite. No fault of the restaurant; I think someone who is into that sort of dish would have liked it. Not for me though. As with last time, the service was friendly and helpful. Give Zaika a try, and jack up the spice level if you can handle it. read more

This is another good Indian food option in Castle Rock. I ordered takeout twice in the not too distant past. I liked their Saag Paneer. It was creamy and spiced well. Both times I ordered, they had my order ready when I arrived for pickup. It's a seamless process when picking up. I haven't dined inside but will sometime in the near future. The first time I ordered something to go, a female staff member was warm and friendly. I always appreciate this whenever I interact with staff at restaurants. Also, I feel that the prices here are average for Indian food. As you probably already know, plan on spending some money when ordering Indian food. Unfortunately, they do not offer delivery if you're ordering through Yelp. For both takeout orders, I had to pick it up. Also, spice level is accurate per your liking. If your order spicy, they don't overdo it. The ambiance of this restaurant is welcoming and pleasant. They have plenty of tables to sit at for your dining experience. The only caveat for a heads up is that you will need to access a side street to get to the restaurant. You can easily see Zaika from Founders Parkway. However, turn off one of the side streets (Front Street or Allen Way) to access the parking lot for pickup at dining inside the restaurant. I will visit here again when in the mood for Indian food which is probably soon! Hope you enjoy their food. read more

Have eaten at Zaika since we first arrived in Castle Rock in 2018. It has always been outstanding. A few weeks ago, spent almost $100 for 3 meals, 2 samosa orders and naan delivered by Caviar. The chicken korma is normally a light ish yellow color but instead was a sort of intense green color. It looked so unappetizing, my mother did not even eat it. The tandoori chicken looked burnt. The chicken tikka massala was ok but barely had any chicken. For $18? The samosas were ok, nothing special. We do not normally order them, and I didn't really enjoy them. I called Zaika immediately and an Indian woman answered. She never apologized and said the manager was not in the restaurant that night, which I find hard to believe. She said he'd call me. He never did. I waited a week or so and then called again and got the answering machine. I left a detailed message and requested a comp for two meals. Still no call from the manager a week later. It's really sad. I used to love this restaurant. I don't know if they are under new management or something, but I will not be returning after my experience with the food, the staff and the management. read more

Zaika's portion sizes have always been small, but my recent carryout order was the final straw. I ordered the grilled chicken tikka and got five small pieces of chicken and a small portion of vegetables. I would have gotten more food from a Lean Cuisine. As a self proclaimed tea connoisseur I think the chai was probably the best chai I've had in Denver area! The onion pakoras were really good and crispy and freshly made to order. Renovated from the yucky pizza place that closed down, it is really classed up and lovely inside. They obviously care what people think of their food and that is good to see. The manager came by several times to ask me how I liked the food, and while I find that to be overkill, I can understand for a new restaurant. I ordered the chicken vindaloo at a level 4 spiciness. With 5 being their highest, I felt this to be safe. I asked my lady server if the naan was garlic-butter naan and she said yes, she can do that. The meal is supposed to come with soup or salad, so I chose salad. My iced tea came along with the little tub of various sweeteners. I put one packet in my tea, mixed it and the server came back to take the tub away. Did she think I was going to steal the 8 packets of sugar and Splenda? When my order came out, it looked delightful and two pieces of regular naan was on my plate while a basket of 4 slices of butter-garlic naan was set down on my table. I looked at the guy and asked him why so much naan. He said I can take the rest home. Huh? In true South Indian tradition, I took a piece of the bread and dipped it in the Vindaloo to taste it. Holy hotness Batman, even a 4 gave some burn!! It was grainy and not as creamy as the authentic stuff I ate in Chennai, India but wasn't bad. My rice pyramid was not tightly packed and crumbled on me. Too dry and not a hearty serving, but it tasted good. That's when I noticed I never got my salad, so I asked the server what happened to my salad. She looked very surprised and shocked and apologized for forgetting it. She rushed back with a salad that looked like it was sitting on the plate in the refrigerator for about an hour. You know what I mean, dried out vegetables. My tea glass sat empty for most of the rest of my meal and nobody offered to refill it. I finally had to ask and they forgot to bring back the tub of sweeteners. Had to ask for that too. I then asked for a box for the rest of my food and the tons of naan as well as the bill. Aha! They charged me $4 for the garlic-butter naan basket! I only wanted the two slices in my order to be butter-garlic, but I guess the language barrier made her misunderstand me. I received a 15% Grand Opening discount, which I gave right back as part of the tip. So, almost $20 later, I decided I'd rather go to Tamarind Indian Cuisine on Perry & 6th. read more

I'm new to Castle Rock, and I was very worried that my "ethnic" taste bud cravings would suffer. Welp. Zaika's got me covered for Indian! I've been twice now, and both times the service and food were all stellar! I will say, my pocketbook prefers the lunchtime pro OG deals. $11-$14 will get you a protein and sauce/preparation of your choice, basmati rice, and fabulous naan bread. And my Lamb Korma was excellent. No cherry, fatty lamb discards here! (See pic!) and you definitely won't leave hungry! I took half mine home and it fed me for lunch the next day.
