Was just bland. Ordered fried shrimp. They were breaded and large but had no seasoning or flavor at all.

The restaurant has been a number of businesses in the past, but Tams has been successful. I understand why...The food is good! The restaurant is not fancy, but has a large open space dining room with simple seat yourself table seating. The menu is vast and posted by number on wall with many combinations featuring mostly seafood ie. Popcorn shrimp and fish specials, plate dinners with large shrimp, catfish fillets, local South Louisiana favorites like poor boys, red beans and rice and gumbo, plus Chinese food options. The proprietor was friendly and patient. I ordered the daily special of popcorn shrimp and popcorn fish with fried rice and comes with a 12 oz can soft drink ($7.49). My coworker ordered 2 catfish fillets entree and fried rice with a salad and slice of bread($9.49). We were both pleased! If you are looking for freshly cooked seafood at a reasonable price. Tams is the place to go!

I always get the same thing when I go, but next time I will have to venture out because the food it was just so good when I I first started with the crabcakes, I will say the crabcakes did not come as I expected, but they were still very good. I was expecting more of a flatter crabcake, but because they were fried, it still held up to my expectation then the salad came out and the salad was very good. I also ordered a lemon berry martini and it was very good. Also, I love the sugar rim on the glass. And finally, I ordered the grilled catfish with the crawfish, cornbread and mashed potatoes and green beans and it was amazing. Our waiter always recommends the crawfish cornbread with the grilled fish, and it was literally the best thing that I've gotten. The service was amazing. Our waiter was very patient with us and took the time to explain any questions that we had. I will say when I went to the Grapevine this time it was a little darker in there than normal, which was a little concerning because I could not see the menu as well as I normally can so being that it was dark it was kinda hard to read the menu and eat our food too . For dessert I decided to get the white chocolate bread pudding and it was so hot and good. It was fresh. It was good. It wasn't too sweet it was just right overall I give this place a 10 out of 10. I will definitely be back sooner than I think.

She came across as short, unfriendly, and overall not very pleasant. I first ordered a Banana Foster's Martini, but she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients. No problem--I asked for an Espresso Martini instead. A few minutes later, after bringing everyone else's drinks, she returned and simply said they couldn't make that either and asked if I wanted something else. At that point, I just declined. When it was time to order, our table had nine people. She took my husband's order, then went around the table taking everyone else's order. By the time she got back to me, she said, "Okay, is that it?" I had to remind her that she hadn't taken my order yet. I ordered the crab and corn bisque, a salad, and the stuffed catfish with creamed spinach. The salad came out quickly and was very good. Then everyone else at the table received their meals while I only received my bisque. After waiting, I was told my stuffed catfish "didn't come out right" and had to be remade. At that point, I honestly wondered if it was a joke. It wasn't. By the time my entrée arrived, everyone else was nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, they did remove the stuffed catfish from my bill, and I appreciated that. However, the entire experience left me feeling overlooked from start to finish. My biggest suggestion would be for our waitress to work on her customer service. A smile goes a long way. Saying things like "Give me that plate," slamming cups onto the table, and appearing annoyed throughout the meal doesn't create a welcoming dining experience. Hospitality is just as important as the food, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.

We stopped in here for lunch and ended up with a sampling of what in my opinion is probably the best example of cajun food done right in Houma and for miles around - everything was delicious and the service from Sarah L was outstanding. We started with the Charbroiled Oysters served with toasted french bread, the plump Louisiana oysters were succulent and dipping the french bread in the cajun butter became an obsession, definitely a must do starter - I wasn't leaving here without trying their chicken and sausage gumbo, perfect texture and complex flavors it will make you a believer, my hats off to the chef, definitely authentic - the fried catfish filets and jumbo fried shrimp platters were outstanding although we didn't do it these are the foundation of an amazing po-boy (maybe next time) - all the sides were exceptional from the fried okra and onion rings to my personal favorite the skillet fried potatoes and who could leave without a few beignets served hot covered in powdered sugar - what a meal they should have a place to lay down in the back for a "cajun nap". In my opinion if you craving some authentic cajun dishes you can't go wrong here, the portions are nice and the prices are very reasonable. Our schedule didn't allow us to return as we had planned but will definitely return when we are back in the area...

We got seated and the server informed us they had no boiled crawfish. I should have taken this as a sign to get up and leave... Between the three of us at the table, we ordered fried oysters, fried alligator bites, fried shrimp and a fried crawfish po-boy along with some fries and onion rings. I took one bite of the alligator bite appetizer and literally said, "that doesn't taste anything like alligator". To make matters worse, my onion rings tasted just like the alligator. How does an onion ring taste like alligator? When I was served my crawfish po-boy, the crawfish had zero seasoning and were the smallest I had ever seen. My meal was very disappointing. My Mom ordered the shrimp plate and found her meal equally bland and remarked, "the slice of toast and the side salad were the best parts". My stepfather ordered, a fried oyster plate in which the oysters were almost non-existent - his meal with all batter & breading. As part of his meal, my stepfather was able to get a side item from the salad bar in which he got "cold slaw". The slaw was unlike anything I had ever seen (or tasted). It was awful. We ate our food, paid our bill, and left. Once in the parking lot, we all agreed that we will never go back and that a zero-star review is warranted. I never leave reviews but it was enough for me to share. We love seasoning and spicy food, but the fried fish and oysters were overly salty and the oysters had a bad after taste like they were possibly going bad. I got the Shrimp Platter and was excited about the seafood augratin but when it came out I asked where the augratin was and the waitress pointed to a tiny plastic condiment container and said that was it (literally 2 spoonfuls). It was okay, but nothing I'd order again. It certainly didn't hold a candle to Don's Seafood. There was only one waitress that we saw working and she said she was new. We had to wait long periods of time to get the attention of the waitress for refills and then when the kids ball team came in, we knew our service would only get worse with only one waitress. Very disappointed. Come on Landry's, you've got to get better. We were expecting good Cajun food and only got disappointment.
