Been tanning here with Tan La for the past 13 years. It doesnt get better then this place. They have the best customer service, the best beds, and Shannon the spray tan girl/woman is absolutely the best that I have been to. The reason I keep coming back is the fact that it is clean and they are friendly and when you call they remember your voice and you account number.. After 1 or 2 visits Gary would not only know my name and account number when he saw me, but he always recogonizes my voice on the phone.. As far as my experence with Shannon the Spray Girl. There is no better. She is friendly and makes you feel comfortable. And after all you are standing in front of her in your Bday suit. So you want someone who makes you feel ok with that.. I have had a few spray tans from other people and the tans were not sprayed on evenly and that is not a problem I have had with Shannon. I for one would never step foot in another Tanning Salon.... I first was looking for a place with a spray tan, I called and was treated very good on the phone. I decided to make an appointment to check this place out. John made my first experience absolutely amazing and comfortable. The place was super clean, including the bathroom. Before I left I decided to purchase a few more spray tans as well as tanning bed tans. John helped me out, answered all my questions, told me to take my time, and was never rushed. Each time I returned it has been the same amazing service. I have recently moved to the Valencia area and will make the drive, about 45 minutes just to continue tanning here. I have been tanning for about 7 years, so I have tried countless tanning places and even have worked at a tanning salon before. 2 years ago I thought I would try tan la as recommended by a family member and I've been going every week since. I don't lay in beds, I get spray tanned. Every single time Shannon sprays me, I come out looking TAN! Not orange not streaky, but actually tan! Her spray tans are the absolute best. I know no matter what event big or small or just because I love being tan, Shannon has never let me down. The formula is amazing and each and every single time she has been persistent with the tan. My husband and I have been frequenting Tan LA now for over 15 years. My skin is fair so I like the no burn stand up bed. My husband and son with their Italian skin both like big Sungate bed. Recently the staff at Tan LA turned me on to the new Contour Light LED Lipo .machine along with the red light anti-aging for my face. I was very nervous about getting a spray tan but wanted to test it out because I want to get one before my wedding. I emailed and quickly got a response from Gary. He answered all of my questions quickly and without making me feel like an idiot because all I know about spray tanning is stuff I looked up on the internet. I made my test appointment on the Thursday before my bridal shower. When I got there I was greeted by Gary who remembered our back and forth and introduced himself. I was early so I waited a little bit but that was no big deal, I know there were appointments before me. I was taken in by the very nice spray tanner (I'm sorry I have forgotten her name), she made sure to explain everything to me making me feel more comfortable with the process. It was all very quickly done and it looked amazing. I purchased their lotion to make sure to get the most of my tan and I loved it! Found Tan LA here on YELP and was very impressed! To my satisfied surprise, I ended up doing the spray tan before my impromptu trip down to Laguna recently. I used the Versa Spa & it's the new & up-to-date version & I fell in love w/ it! When I called & spoke to Gary (the owner), I asked to be airbrushed by his spray tan girl everyone raves about, but she was booked that evening. However, it worked out since I was pleased with the Versa! In fact, I bought 10 more of the Versa spray tans before I left along with the Priming conditioner. The primer is applied by the spray machine before the Versa Tan & it does the obvious by helping to prolong the tan. 4 different positions are incorporated for a nice, even & glowing tan that truly lasts! Btw, I really like Gary too! He has a fun & knowledgeable personality, plus., Im all about supporting LOCAL biz! Gary offers all sorts of other cool stuff too that you will NOT find at other salons (such as Red Light Therapy). Great place! Shannon is my favorite and I wouldn't EVER spray tan with anyone else. She's seen it all so she could care less about your stark nakedness! After 3 kids that is very helpful! She is professional and sweet and could spray an even perfect tan in her sleep! I try not to tan in the beds but if I need to they always let me change my package to either a spray or a bed with no problems. Owner (Gary) is very nice and funny. I have been going to Tan LA for 12 years now. The stand up bed is by far my favorite and is very reasonable in price. I recently moved to Los Angeles and tried a tanning salon out there and it couldn't even compare. So I drive out to Thousand Oaks to Tan LA every weekend. I wanted to have a nice glow and look a little slimmer for a special event so l decided to take my friends advice and try out the Skinny Brown Cocktail at Tan LA. The woman who wrapped me was extremely knowledgable and thoroughly explained how it works. The process took 45 minutes and was very relaxing. When I was finished with the contour light I did the second half of my cocktail which consisted of having Shannon custom spray me. I am very pleased with the results. A few months ago I moved to thousand oaks from Northern California, and having to find all new places to go for nails, hair, etc..has been a real pain in the you know where. I couldn't be happier though with my choice of tanning salons :) Most importantly the staff is very friendly, and knowledgeable about everything to do with tanning. Both owners are awesome, one is (to say the least) very sarcastic and funny, the other is super nice and very professional...its a very good mix. The beds that I used are awesome and got me really good color and its probably the cleanest salon i have ever been in. I had the WORST experience at the Agoura Hills location. I have been getting spray tans for years and typically I am very happy with the results. Today was the first time I have been to this salon and I will NEVER go back. Nor will I ever recommend them for any service. Not because I had a bad application.....which I did, yeah, that can happen....but because of the way the owner handled the situation. I had a very high profile conference to attend and planned to wear dresses and skirts. I was leaving town and did not have time to have it redone. The application started dark on my thighs to light below the knees and all but nonexistent on my feet. You could clearly see where she had not sprayed. I went in to show Greg the owner on my way out of town so he could see it and his reaction was to say it was weird and it must be my skin because it was impossible that I had a bad application. He called me rude because I pressed him to admit it was the application. After refunding $20 of the $50 I had paid the day before, he started yelling at me and actually followed me out the door yelling as I drove away! I am incredulous that this is the behavior of a business owner. Save yourself. Go somewhere.....anywhere..... else. read more
