Awesome tanning salon! Very clean and the owners are friendly, knowledgable and know their clientel very well. I love that they have a wide variety of beds and products and the Mystic is the best sunless tanning I've ever gotten. Girlfriend tried the new contour light wrap thing, and loved it. Even as a guy I noticed a difference on her. The staff even made me feel comfortable just waiting for her to finish her session and they let me try the blue light acne treatment. Strongly recommend this place and their services. read more

I've been going to them for a year and I love this place like everyone else. I could live there and try every service they offer, but I gotta pay my rent. Gary is an absolute sweetheart and always gives impeccable service like he's your best friend. I leave feeling like a million bucks as we all know how good vitamin d is for you. Gary and John are the BEST!!! I was going to a different tanning salon in Westlake and left due to their utter lack of care for their clients. I don't know where to begin....I LOVE tan LA. I turned down a job offer on the east coast because if i left WLV I wouldn't have Gary Jon + Shannon to help keeping me look hot! :P seriously, this place is AMAZING!!! from client service to knowledge, cleanliness, beautiful decor, top of the line equipment + tanning beds! This place is always clean and everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. Every time I go one of the owners - Jon or Gary - is at the front desk and they take care of their customers. I've tanned and done body wraps there. The wraps I ended up buying when they ran a deal on livingsocial.com and although they were going to expire soon the guys said not to worry about it, they'll honor them when I could come in. Won't be going anywhere else! read more

We came in at 4 on a Sunday, two of us wanting to do a tanning bed. The owner acted like we inconvenienced him by coming in. He wasn't polite or friendly and instead made us feel like we shouldn't be there. I've had good experiences there in the past but this encounter made me not want to go back. read more

I've been going to Tan LA for a little over a year. It's by far the best salon I've ever been to. The place is clean, the staff the always pleasant and the beds are great. If you need a tan fast, try the Magic Bed. It's a little pricier to use this bed than the others but it is worth every penny and I keep going back. One session in the Magic Bed is like several sessions in a conventional bed plus I never burn in this bed which is amazing because I'm so pale (when I don't tan) that I might as well be albino. I can't say enough about Tan LA! read more

First time tanning and don't think it will be the last. All I could think of was the movie Final destination, It was exciting lol. I was only in for like five minutes and with just that my family could see a difference when I got home. It was a quiet and private setting, I'm not too shy to go back for round two lol. The staff was friendly and I think since I felt comfortable with them it made my first experience enjoyable. I'm glad they recommended a short amount of time because I had no idea what I needed, afterwards I was glad they told me because it turned out to be perfect. And the tanning machine was so clean I thought I was the first person to ever go In it. If you want to get tan this is the spot. read more

Seems like not a year goes by that they don't have some new amazing tanning bed. My new favorite is the KBL. This is by far the best tanning salon I have ever been to. Which speaks volumes considering I have been tanning for more than 15 years and used to work at a tanning salon myself. Gary and John, the owners are very personable and knowledgeable, not to mention that they're super nice guys! The place is always very clean and comfortable and have a great variety of awesome beds. Katie uses a very high quality french hard wax (no cloth strips needed), and her attention to detail, part of her personality, along with her kindness and gentle manner makes her one of the best I've ever encountered. Alex said that they've been there for 5 years, and the other client sitting next to me also said she's been a loyal customer since the start of their opening. The nail tech was nice and worked quickly... too quickly. They didn't trim my cuticles or the skin around my nails. I asked for an ombré nail design, which is shown on their menu and provided a picture of the exact colors I wanted. Another nail tech came and took my phone to pick colors out and just started painting them on some of my nails before the original tech had even put gel on them. It was very odd... the second tech was rushing the first and was honestly doing a sloppy job. The color ended up being super off.. it was a Christmas tree green instead of a blue- teal color. I don't blame her for that, the bottle looked like a different color than the paint. They were also streaky and completely see-through. She asked if I liked them and I told her those things, and she told me the reference picture was see through too (which it was not-I added the reference) but she still redid them which I appreciated. I picked the new color myself, which matched the reference pic more and also wasn't see-through which was way better. The airbrush was having issues, which I could tell was super frustrating to them which sucks. But they just seemed to not really know how to do it very well. They finished and rushed me out quickly without cleaning any of the gel of my skin. With airbrush they usually wipe the paint off the skin before curing it so this doesn't happen. Now it's been a real pain to try to get off. They also did not clean up the sides of my nails, which were all jagged. I had to do a full nail clean up when I got home. Thankfully I have all the stuff at home to do that. The only reason for 3-stars is that the gel x nails are properly applied and should last. Overall I was not impressed. As a new client who is paying good money (and extra for a nail design) I expect some level of care. Also now knowing how to do a proper gel manicure, it's so obvious when they cut corners and rush (no nail/cuticle prep or clean up, only one layer of paint). And maybe don't offer a service (ombré) if you aren't confident in it or don't have properly working equipment. I wanted to do something nice for myself but ended up having more of a headache in the end, and had to pay my hard earned money for that headache.

Went in and received my first Contour Light session -- the service that removes fat from your body with red light. When I got to the salon, I met another client that was on her 3rd week of treatments, and she had a positive result from this device -- she had lost over 12" and was needing to buy new clothes because her old wardrobe doesn't fit anymore. John and Gary were very informative, answered all my questions, and so in I went. The session took about 40 minutes and was quite comfortable. A little sweating, but no big deal. When the session was over, I measured my waist and had lost 1" immediately. Later that evening, my loss had grown to be 1.5" -- astounding. I do know that this session is just one of several needed for a more permanent and dramatic result, but the price is affordable (they have a monthly "unlimited" program to use this machine) and there isn't any pain, surgery, or recovery time involved.....my kind of deal! I am now a committed fan of Contour Light and Tan L.A. !!! read more

Crazy how Tan LA's Contour Light device works for weight loss! Being one to never trust any fad diets or quick fixes for weight loss, I'm amazed how successful this technique is. After 4 easy, relaxing sessions with a little cleaner eating I'm 6 lbs lighter, 2" smaller waist, and 1 dress size lower. I'm a believer... I've been to a few tanning salons before...I like the relaxation, listening to tunes, etc. but it is something I don't do that regularly. Now I am limited to before trips, special events and the like. At other places, there has been pressure of using sessions before an expiration date, so many times in a month and so on. I get it, it's a business. At Tan LA, you can relax about the financials while you relax under the soothing tanning rays. John and Gary get customer service, remember who you are and add to the experience. It's the way a tanning salon should be run: good value for a good product, and you win by looking good! read more

This place is Great! Ive tanned here for over two years now only before special occasions. What I like most is the fact they they do change their bulbs on a regular basis. The prices are very competitive and they offer a perfect range of tanning beds. I usually do the lowest level bed and even after just 3 tans or so, I look bronzed and sun kissed. Even in the low level bed, you can expect to get really dark if you go consistently for a few weeks. I have tried the highest level bed and it was AMAZE. Love, love, love my sunless tan! Got "tanned" 3 times last month for different events and my tan was beautiful. My friend goes to Alicia so I asked for her and she was great. My tan looked so good and she made me forget I was standing there naked! The spray is a little cold but it only took 5 minutes and my tan was so worth the cold. (I don't go in the beds so I don't know about them.) The front counter guy (owner?) was very nice and he gave me the coupon discount without the coupon. I definitely recommend this salon. read more

I heard about Shannon at Tan LA from a friend. I was looking to get a spray tan for a wedding I was going to . Shannon is really professional and makes you feel comfortable. She uses the best product so you don't turn orange like other place. I like that the product she uses dries minutes after she applies it. The Camarillo facility was a great find. It's a beautiful, well-maintained facility with friendly, knowledgeable staff and top rate equipment. RUN AWAY ! DONT WALK !…read more I booked an appointment with a stylist that was recommended by the front desk. When I booked the appointment I asked about their stylists and asked to please match me with someone who was good with long hair cuts as I had very long hair. My hair texture is simple. Straight hair but it was long. The front desk paired me with a stylist for a hair cut and blow dry . I was 20 minutes late to said appointment and I take full responsibility for that. I was fully prepared for my appointment to be cancelled without a refund on the deposit. When I arrived I could tell the stylist was annoyed which I totally understood considering my late arrival. (I did call to let them know I was running late ) Because I had booked a hair cut and blow dry, theoretically, she should have had sufficient time for the cut but perhaps not the blow dry. I was very clear that I didn't need the blow dry and that the hair cut alone would do just fine. I would have been okay with being charged for the blow dry even if it wasn't done as that was what was scheduled. Instead, the stylist accepted me and proceeded with the appointment. She was visibly annoyed which made me uncomfortable but I stayed in good faith . She was personable during the appointment. We chatted throughout but I was concerned with the way she was cutting my hair . I am not a hair stylist so I thought maybe I was over thinking it and just needed to trust the process. I was incredibly wrong. The hair was left ridiculously uneven, not the shape we discussed and left me with a "rat tail". She went up so high on the sides so that I would have to essentially cut 6 or more inches off to even everything out. I cannot prove it but I am convinced this was done on purpose as a way to get back at me for coming late. When she finished the hair cut I knew something was off but couldn't really look at it properly until I had arrived at home. Even though I knew it was off , I decided to still tip the stylist 15 dollars as a courtesy and my way of apologizing for being late. The tip was not because I felt the hair cut was done well. When I got home I saw just how bad it was. I was so upset and dumbfounded that I wanted to cry . The next day I contacted the salon to inform them of what happened. I called looking to speak to the salon owner because this was not a small mistake. The salon owner never called me personally to discuss the situation . The receptionist, who said he was the lead, handled all communication between the owner and I. I was offered to have the hair cut redone with a different stylist (I made it clear I would not feel comfortable with the initial stylist) at no extra cost to me. That didn't work out for me so I asked for a refund which they obliged. Although the owner herself wasn't responsible for my hair cut, I feel she should have called to discuss the matter with me personally . I am very disappointed not only with the stylist but with the owner for not providing better customer service. I do not recommend this hair salon and will never return again.

I have no doubt that this was the best decision I made. She is so welcoming as soon as you enter, very attentive to your needs and extremely knowledgeable with her skills. She explained everything she was doing and did it all with such gentleness. I booked a custom facial and added a scalp massage and leg compressions. I highly recommend all three services to anyone but especially to first time clients. I am already looking forward to my next appointment!

I had a not so great facial experience at another salon a few weeks before seeing her. Nothing horrible, but the esthetician definitely seemed inexperienced and was wearing gloves the entire time. I felt like I was at a doctors appointment. Not relaxing at all. And somehow my skin actually felt drier afterward. I went in specifically to help the dryness on my face and it felt like a complete waste of my time and money. Seeing Marci was the complete opposite experience. I actually called her after my disappointing appointment elsewhere, and she spent so much time on the phone answering all my questions. It was immediately obvious she has decades of experience and really knows what she's doing. She's also absolutely beautiful, has such a warm personality, and is genuinely fun to talk to. I also did the pressotherapy massage on my legs with her, to help with contouring/skin sagging and that was absolutely amazing as well. It felt so relaxing and the 30 minute treatment is equivalent to the same amount of circulation as walking 9 miles, which is so cool! The facial itself was SO relaxing I almost fell asleep a few times. The whole space felt so cozy and comfortable, and she made me feel completely at ease. Most importantly, she knew exactly how to treat the dryness and dehydration in my skin. I left glowing, and even today my skin still looks unbelievably fresh and radiant. I'm usually uncomfortable leaving the house without makeup, but my skin looked so good this morning that I didn't even feel like I needed any. When I dropped my daughter off at school this morning, her teacher actually stopped me and asked if I had done something different because I looked amazing. I told her all about my facial with Marci and gave her Marci's phone number. I really was not expecting the results to be this dramatic. I've already booked her for the next two months and I plan on returning every month to keep my skin looking amazing. I'd also like to point out that there was ample parking available, and I was able to park right by her salon. Thank you so much Marci!!!

I loved the leg wraps for lymphatic draining she put on me and she said it's like doing cardio training! My skin feels soft and the LED light was cool clean office and plenty of free parking.
