I cannot recommend this place enough! Mike and Anne Marie were so pleasant. My brother in law got married at the breakers in spring lake so TBI is about 7 minutes from the breakers. Check in process was so easy and Mike showed us around, how things worked in our room. I felt very safe since the front door had a passcode you had to punch in to enter and locked behind you. Breakfast was great everyday! Annemarie made the breakfast everyday! The tandem bike inn is in walking distance to a lot of good restaurants. We stayed in the bike path room.

This is the best bed and breakfast in Belmar. Got to visit this home away from home run by Mike and Ann Marie. Will come back whenever I'm in the Jersey Shore.

I had an great experience at The Tandem Bike Inn. I came for a solo weekend away and felt very comfortable. The rooms were super clean. Hosts were super welcoming and so kind. The beach is definitely in walking distance and there are restaurants in walking distance as well. The peanut butter cookies were the best! Breakfast on the porch was delicious and relaxing. I'm definitely return next summer. Thank you!

Love, love, love it here! The innkeepers are so welcoming without even trying. They genuinely want you to enjoy, relax and supply you with a great getaway. The rooms are clean, cozy and have everything you need. I stayed in the 'Beach Breeze' room, which was a little smaller compared to the others. What I did like was that the room had lots of sunlight and since I wasn't in the room much I didn't need a lot of space. I believe each room has an HD tv, fridge, luggage rack, WIFI, bathroom amenities (no hair conditioner) and AC. Plenty of books are arranged in the living room and local suggestive flyers are available. Outside is a shower (from the beach), limited parking outback and beach chairs/umbrellas/bikes. Breakfast (varies) was delicious and cooked on site. I def would love to revisit!

    Delicious breakfast!

This was our very first experience at a Bed & Breakfast and we had a wonderful time! Atmosphere: Everything from the food, to the coziness of the house was perfect. This is a great place to stay for a romantic trip. The house is very clean and quiet (which I love). The hosts were very sweet and I felt they tried very hard to make it a pleasant experience. Walking distance: The Tandem Bike Inn is close to everything - restaurants, shops, the beach is all within walking distance. We stayed for a couple of days and we didn't have to move our car once. Food: We were given suggestions of places to go for dinner in the area. There are so many places nearby, it's easy to find a place to eat. For dinner, we ate at Bareli's by the Sea in Spring Lake (the next town over) and La Dolce Vita in Belmar (both were great). The Tandem Bike Inn provides their guests with daily breakfast before 9:45 a.m. and a daily afternoon snack including coffee, tea, water, and usually a cold drink like lemonade. During our stay, my husband's favorite breakfast - the French toast with Canadian bacon; my favorite breakfast was the egg, potato, and bacon sandwich. Oh and he really loved the lemon twist pastries! Delicious! Some other things: The Tandem Bike Inn also provides beach towels and passes, bikes, chairs, an outdoor shower, DVDs, Fios cable, books, a comfortable bed to sleep in, and a breezy porch to relax on. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay at the Jersey Shore!

We had a lovely one night stay at this adorable b&b in Belmar. The room was clean and comfy with a private bath. The hosts were extremely nice. It felt as though we were visiting family. We really enjoyed the corn muffins and cookies in the afternoon. Breakfast the next day included fresh fruit, yogurt and granola - self serve. We then sat outside on the quiet and comfortable porch and were served the breakfast of the day which was French toast and chicken sausage. Neither my husband or I cared for the sausage but the French toast was divine. We just wished something savory with eggs perhaps would have been offered as we were on a sweets overload! Overall, we had an enjoyable time at the Tandem Inn and would highly recommend staying here when in the area!

My boyfriend and I stayed here over the July 4th weekend, which happened to be their opening weekend, and had the most amazing experience. The proprietors were absolutely the most hospitable, friendly and attentive hosts you could wish for. Breakfast was absolutely amazing and homemade to order...fresh made Belgian waffles with fresh strawberries with a fresh fruit salad appetizer (with julienne fresh mint grown on the property) and freshly baked banana walnut muffins, WOW!!!!!! The BF and I unfortunately missed most of the breakfasts since we're late risers and service ends around 10 am, a mistake we will not be making again. The rooms are all nicely appointed and CLEAN with very comfortable beds. Each room had it's own bathroom, air conditioning and HD cable TV. Beach passes are included in the price of the rooms as well. The location is very central to everything. The train was about a block and a half away, three restaurants, including a vegan/vegetarian one, right up the block from the inn and the beach is a very easy walk from the inn. Tandem Bike Inn is one of those establishments that knows that in the hospitality industry, HOSPITALITY is most important. Something that most of the industry has forgotten. We're already planning another trip this summer to Belmar and will most definitely staying at Tandem Bike Inn.

My gf and I are here on a romantic getaway and it is everything we hoped for. Fantastic hosts, clean, comfy, romantic rooms, and absolutely delicious breakfast. We have decided we are going to make this our annual getaway place.

We just left after a 3 day stay. Absolutely incredible and well worth the price. Top of the line accommodations, food and outstanding service from the owners. Unforgettable memories and the cleanest most pristine rooms. Thank you Anne Marie and Mike. We will see you in November.

Lemon tea cake and lemonade, sometimes served during tea time.

The hotel is beautiful and it felt like every single piece of furniture and decorations were chosen intentionally. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the phenomenal, friendly and attentive service from manager Emily. Truly a gem of a person, and made sure everything we needed was available. Would also like to highlight that Emily reached out even before our stay begun to ask if we needed anything upon arrival or had any questions. All requests were met and Emily was prompt to answer all questions. I would highly recommend The James Bradley to anyone thinking of visiting. If you're looking for a quick vacation out of this city, this is the place, so easy to get to, the town has wonderful restaurants/bars and the beach was beautiful (even if it was too cold to hang out). I'm all for minimalism but there needs to be functionality behind it. As for breakfast; more gluten free options please! And the soft boiled eggs we chose were either cooked too hard or way undercooked. The yogurt and fruit was delicious! Our server was great.

After staying at The Inn @Ocean Grove for half a year, I considered it home and forged a few…read morefriendships. Because I stayed here for that long, I was able to make a few observations, which frame my opinions. As with anything, there are both good and bad. But these are just my POV. Management: The place was basically run by two women, with one being the "chief cook and bottle washer," stepping in to do repairs and treating the guests to her amazing baked goods. The other woman served more on, in her own words, an "organizational" level, collecting the "rent" every Monday, and "keeping things in line." If you stay during the Winter season as I did, don't expect breakfast, but summer guests will have that amenity. Not to worry. There are quite a few options in town. There is a Keurig coffee machine, however, which you can help yourself to any time of the day. It's easy to use. For those of you who don't know, just put the K-cup in, making sure there is water in the side container, press the top down and push the button to the desired strength of coffee. But I digress. It's just that people kept asking me how to use it. One of the downsides at the Inn were the numerous power outages, and guests were sometimes suspected to be the culprits, even though the building is more than 100 years old and the infrastructure probably needs an upgrade. Also, at least in the winter season, you must supply your own bedding: sheets, blankets, pillow cases. And don't expect to bring Fido or Felix. Pets are not allowed, except maybe in the back cottages. All in all, enjoy the stay, don't get too inebriated (it's a dry town, and you'll have to sneak off to Bond Street Bar in the next town) because there are three floors, and you have to climb stairs. Parking is free, outside the building, but that could be problematic in the Summer. During my stay, I was sometimes playing musical cars to keep my auto on the "correct" side of the one-way Webb Avenue . Take care, and Godspeed. Hope this offered some insight into staying at the Inn @Ocean Grove.

I reached out to meet with them in March to go over some things and was bothered that we had no written agreement. My questions were answered, left thinking everything was fine. The next day I receive an email not even the decency of a phone call to inform us the wedding reception is not in line with the hotel whatever that means and they canceled the reservation for September, 5 months before the wedding. Needless to say they are very dishonest, the reason they gave doesn't hold up. We had spoken at length with the chef about meals, music, dancing area and was now told the reason was, they don't do that kind of reception! We also knew of noise restrictions for Ocean Grove and booked DJ accordingly. My personal feeling is they booked the entire hotel for 3 days including the day we reserved. We booked the entire hotel and this boils down to they got a better offer with more money for full booking. After receiving this email I went on the hotel booking site and saw all three days blocked which is not what we reserved. We had reserved the whole hotel for Saturday, When I questioned this I was told they had blocked the 3 days for us. Not true, we never asked for that. My advice, stay away or get in writing from very beginning so you can take legal recourse if this happens to you. We are left scrambling to find a venue. On a side note I went on their site this morning, that weekend is still blocked and we were already canceled so that speaks for itself! As far as we are concerned at this point, we feel this happened for a reason!

Splinter HELL, I hope you don't want ice…read more This hotel was fantastic at first, especially the corner pool terrace suite. Easy access to the pool, large and lots of light. But my god, it is splinter hell. Us, along with 3 other families that we knew of, were realizing at the pool that us and our kid's feet were completely full of splinters. We spent a total of about 3 hours at the pool over 2 days and my four year old had over 50 splinters in each foot! I had about 10 and spouse a few less. My four year old will not even let me look at his foot, nevertheless remove the splinters - yeah right. I think we are going to need to get sedated. This has ruined the stay to be honest. The hotel also didn't have tweezers. At least two families complained and nothing seemed to be done about it. The deck is extremely dry. This wouldn't be a hard problem to solve. ICE. I requested ice about 20 different ways, because there is no ice machine so they say just request it: - through the app on their tablet (3x, nothing) - through calling the front desk (2x, nothing) - in person at the front desk (2x, nothing) - through text to the front desk (4x, nothing) - in person to the person that came to the room one night (2x, 1x worked!) I got ice once, woohoooooo! The tablet is a joke. I needed an extra bedsheet and requested it through the tablet and it never came. In person at the front desk it did, however. Beautiful hotel, but the splinters ruined it. You could not pay ME to stay somewhere that my autistic kid gets 100 splinters in his feet. The hotel is feeling a bit neglected in some ways. Our "terrace" had algae on the deck area, one couch cushion had a big brown spot and there was half of a DEAD BIRD on our terrace. It was there the whole time. Of course my 4 year old was enthralled.Yay.
