We love this place ! When they 1st opened the food was ok and I hated the paav bhaaji . A yr down the road the food there is very tasty. The manger /owner has always been very kind and polite. Once we felt that chole was very little for 2 people, he apologized and next time he gave us very good amount . Majority of Indian places increase prices and shortchange you in quantity of food. This is the 1st place we feel that the food quantity is very good . The place is clean, restroom for a change is always clean too which is a shock for an Indian place. We recently tried their aloo ka parantha and loved it . Their mango lassi, plain lassi, bhelpuri,dahipuri,thali,chole batoore and paav bhaji is what we have eaten and have really enjoyed all of the food items. Overall the food here is good. Definetly one of the best tandoori chicken, if you wait if just come out of the owen. But I have to agree the service is very worst. The staffs at the front show too much attitude and ignore customers. This was a main complaint from many of my friends as well. Was extremely disappointed, that we were forced to throw away too much food! We weren't allowed to take leftovers with us! Owner/Manager missed the point, when he was trying to explain the value of a thali! There are 795 million hungry in the world. I'm very disappointed in this place, we order a special to dine in and my children did not finish all of their food, so I asked for a container to go and they refused to give me one because the food I had ordered was dine in only special. My options were limited to eating the food or throwing away in the garbage. I was very upset and ended up throwing our food in the garbage. We ordered Chicken Biryani, Veg thali (Chole masala, Dal makhni and butter naan) and mango lassi. The chicken biryani was slimy wet, the chicken looked disgusting. Don't ever ever ever, order a chicken biryani or any Non-Veg cuisine. Mango Lassi contained a lot of sugar. It took me 2-3 sips to get used to it. I know the curries are bad here (most of them tasteless and oil rich), I used to buy naan from here for takeout. We had some naan during the last weekend and after we ate a naan or two, we (all in the family) started feeling bloated and also felt very dry. This happens when you put lot of sodium in food. I recently visited the restaurant. The Samosa Chat was good but very pricey. It shouldn't cost more than $3.50. I got charged $4.99. I also had a tea. The tea was supposed to be Masala Tea. Best place for chicken tikka, chicken sheesh(grounded), tandoori chicken kababs. JK the owner knows how to win the customer's heart through his kababs. Fresh naans too out of their tandoor grill. I stopped by here on my way out of town back to St. Louis. What a place! Clean, diner-esque atmosphere, with brushed aluminum counters and everything is right there for you to see. The owner was super helpful on choosing items. I ended up getting the vegetarian combo, a couple of Samosas and the Onion something-or-others (little round bready balls of something) that were excellent. I've had Indian several times, and I"ve always liked it, but this, ...this was out of this world! The Nan, fresh out of the tandoor oven (I walked around the side and peered into the back and watched a younger man cooking it in the oven) was amazing, just enough chewyness and the flavor, wow! I actually didn't start eating this stuff until I was on the road, and when I did start I was amazed. I pulled over down the road, and turned around and went back and got another order of everything for my girlfriend and her daughter. It made the trip and they had it that evening and THEY loved it! I've been back once and was still impressed. I wish he'd open one here in St. Louis. The flavors are indescribable, but just fantastic. Cheers! The best place for chicken tikka kabab, peanut chat, pakoras, curries, lot more. Their lunch thali is a "must have" as well. JK the owner runs this with a passion and a philosophy of maintaining taste only through FRESHNESS. We were not prepared for the high quality of food and friendly service. The food was fresh and delicious. It's in a strip mall and isn't fancy, but our dinner was superior to many meals we've had at high-end Indian restaurants. The service was so friendly and helpful. The staff provides free samples and answers questions free of judgment. We dined in and the place was spotless. Everything was shiny and clean. I was even able to peek into the kitchen and couldn't find a single spot on the floor or any of the food prep surfaces. Everyone who came in was Indian and spoke Indian, but the atmosphere is so comfortable that my husband and I felt like welcome guests at a party. We will be going back for take-out. Use to be a very good place in neighborhood. Have been going there since they setup the place. However there has been a gradual decrease in the quality of food and increase in the rude behavior of the lady who take orders. I looked the other way most of times but recent encounter made me decide enough is enough and i dont need to go to this place any more. Couple of weeks back I visited for lunch. Food served was stale, could smell the chutney and sambar going bad. I brought it up to the staff, instead of checking out the quality of food, she went of the defensive and started lecturing about the importance of food and how we should not call food as stale. Her justification was that there may be people who like stale food and that staleness is a matter of perception. A very unethical way of trying to convince you of against the reality on ground. Having paid for the food I don't think we should get lectured by their staff when the quality of their food is bad. loved the food here! tried couple of their entrees n sides. tastes authentic and true other than the american way of spicing it down. I dont think they are all that cheap. Their entres r priced decently but once u get a side, bread which is not included, etc it can come up to $10 per person and the meal is hardly enough for 2 people (Their side of rice is a cup size)...Their butter dchicken & lamb dish rocked and their biriyani & naan was good too.
