I was not sure about a restaurant specializing pizza and Indian cuisine. However, I decided to give it a try and what a surprise. I had their lamb curry and it was delicious. What a delightful flavor of diverse spices. The rich dark red texture of the curry was extremely aromatic. A real discovery in a community with very few ethnic restaurants. I am familiar with authentic Indian food through travels and Indian friends and living in LA and NYC. This is the first time I have left a bad review, but I am doing so in the hopes it inspires the owners to make changes and prevents anyone else from the experience I had. I found the tandoor grilled chicken tough and chewy and the flavor was off. The Tikka masala was lacking too and the chicken tasted old and cheap, as if they use the kind that injected. Very chewy. The flavors were not great in the masala either. If I had to guess, it needed more fresh ginger and garlic, and the masala blend needs less chile powder and more cloves or cinnamon. The garlic naan did not have fresh garlic on it. The raita was watery and had something that looked like Israeli pearl couscous (a lot of it), which was off-putting and felt like they were just trying to stretch it. The mint chutney looked like it had green dye in it and was awful, too. I spent a lot of money on this food and ended up taking a few bites of each and just throwing it away. Life is too short for bad Indian food and it felt like disrespectful to the beautiful tradition of great Indian food. I feel badly leaving this review, so if anyone feels like the owners improve the menu or they reach out to me, I will gladly remove it or amend it. read more

Had a decent meal to go with a 10% off Yelp coupon for checking in. Ordered the chicken tikki masala at spice level 3 out of 5, which was definitely too much for my taste buds to handle! Next time, I'll go with a 1 or 2 and play it safe. The two star deduction is for a couple reasons, the first being that the menu prices online differ from the take out vs regular menu, so I ended up paying more than expected ($12.95). While it was admittedly enough of a portion to last me for 2 meals, I didn't really enjoy the chicken which was, underneath the sauce, artificially pink and tough. Fantastic!!! Everything is so authentic. I ordered mango chicken with a spicy level of 2 and that was plenty -- I raved about every bite and enjoyed the spice. My husband ordered the chicken korma with the spicy level of 1 and truly enjoyed it! The chicken was so tender it literally came apart with a spoon. WOW! What a gem of a restaurant. I like this place, it's one of the better Indian restaurants in Bellingham, it's a shame it isn't in a better location because I would definitely dine here more often. Our server said that the cook is new to the U.S. and by the taste of the food I would say that he over estimates our tolerance for heat lol. I ordered the Spicy Mango Chicken with a 2 spiciness and it was too hot for me but I drank a lot of water and managed to eat most of it. Aside from the heat it was delicious, very sweet and tangy. Our appetizer of Indian spiced chicken wings was terrific, again a bit spicy for me but I still enjoyed them. Hubby's Tandori mix was a bit on the dry side, not very good. Portions were adequate. Service was a little slow but there was only one person and she was dealing with a lot of to-go orders from the nearby university, they seem to be very popular with the students. Despite being very busy she was very sweet and helpful when we asked questions. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side with only about 8 tables but they do have a full bar. It was tastefully decorated and clean, always a good sign. They offer a wide variety of desserts in a case by the register that are available to take home, maybe next time I will try a couple. read more

It was alright. The naan taste dough and chewy..not what I am use to. I ordered two of my favorite dishes. The chicken vandeloo was suppose to be a spicy dish, but I like it even spicier. The girl at the counter said they can make it as spicy as I would like. On their scale of 1-5 stars. The girl suggested 3, so I went with 4 hoping it would be spicy for me. Not sure what 5 would be but what I got was not even a 3..much less a 4. Disappointing. Entree two was huge- chicken tandoori..but for $15 a plate..guess it should be. Again..the favor was off point. Wish they had a lunch portion with lunch pricing. Over all...it was about $33 with rice and a side order of naan. Probably won't be heading back if I crave some Indian food. read more

They did our wedding party food service, which was excellent. Everything was as per expectations.

Delivery. We got the saag aloo, the shahi paneer and mixed vegetables. Entrees were real soupy. As in this was the most outstanding characteristic. I'm a fan of a finely pureed saag, however the consistency level I experienced here felt like they poured more cream in the dish to compensate for lack of actual spinach. The shahi paneer was similar - the paneer felt like tiny boats in an ocean of butter sauce. The mixed vegetables had a high water-mark of grease around the container and tiny grease pools. Flavor was thankfully strong, hence the 2 stars - and one dimensional, hence the 2 stars. They say (or I say, rather) that you can judge an Indian restaurant on its naan, and well, this naan was that kind of over-greased, rubbery, flaccid glutinous-seeming naan - nothing crunchy or toasty or bread-like about it.... It feels like we got the a** end of the buffet. Brr. Being from LA, I am spoiled with some of the best Indian food in the world. This place would not last a week there, or in a market with any real competition. read more

I took colleagues from work to Tandoori since one of them was Muslim and this seems to be Bellingham's only halal restaurant. The other members of the group had the lamb and chicken dishes, and all agreed that the food was excellent. I had the butter chicken curry and it was objectively excellent food but not how I expect butter chicken curry to look or taste like - it had a green tint not the red / orange you'd expect of this dish. But I ate it all and would have it again in a heartbeat. The garlic naans also rate a mention- delicious! read more

This was our second experience with this little spot, with the first just takeout during Covid and the food didn't impress us. This time we left with a better impression. We started with the Samosa Chaat, which is an entree unto itself consisting of crisp veggie samosas smothered in all sorts of deliciousness and accented with both tamarind and fresh mint chutney. May be my new go-to for comfort food. We also had the chicken vindaloo and the lamb tikka dal, both at 3/5 spice level. We both liked the lamb dish better than the vindaloo, but the flavor and heat of the chicken dish was fine, just our preference went to the lamb. Both dishes had good amounts of protein and were tender. I hoped for more dal (lentils) with the lamb, but they were pretty sparse. Our service was a very pleasant if a tad slow, but I think mainly because they had a busy to go business and could have used one more staff member. Once the music switched to Indian tunes instead of bad Muzak, the atmosphere improved! Only downside to meal was my Negroni-way too sweet and not cold enough, and the (dried hibiscus?) flowers floating on top did not anything but chewy bits. Next time I'll stick to Indian beer designed for this food. read more

I got some really good news tonight so I thought why not splurge and order in! I'd been missing me some good indian so I ordered from TB since they were nearby. Not only did I not get what I ordered, what came was just a reminder of why people do not enjoy indian food. Overly creamed, bland and dull. Just tossed $60 bucks at the small business goddess. Sacrifices must be made I guess. Do yourself a favor and look up a good recipe and make it yourself. No good indian in Bham as far as I can tell, def not TB. And I called to let them know I had not ordered paneer in bland orange sauce and they had no solutions. Get Thai from Wanida. So good and so consistent. read more

I've had several dishes now and each was tasty. The butter chicken is addicting and the meat is always tender and well trimmed. I've enjoyed the Saag Aloo (perfect potatoes and creamy greens), Shahi panneer, both well seasoned. The various pakoras and samosas are all flakey and delicious. I quite like all the food to be honest. I also love that this place hasn't jacked up their prices to a ridiculous amount like all the other Indian places in town have. Only criticism I can offer is that I didn't get my naan when I ordered delivery the first time. updated: they graciously allow me to substitute the dessert which comes with the meal deal for extra naan, and man do they hook it up! One week later and I'm back! This trip my friend's and I split Garlic Naan, Dal Makhani (creamed lentils), Bengan Bhurta (purée eggplant), Chili Chicken and Rasmalai Bengali (cheese and sweet milk). The dal was fabulous. Flavor wise the dish stood out from the other vegetarian dish of eggplant. The spices were prominent but did not overpower the lentil flavor and texture. I did enjoy the eggplant but it was much milder in spice (not heat spice). As for the non vegetarian dish, the chili chicken was by far my favorite of today's assortment. The chicken was cooked just right. I've found that a lot of Indian restaurants over cook the meat and cove it up with too much sauce. Speaking of sauce... The vegetable sauce for this dish was absolutely, hands down, the best concoction of fresh spices, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. I could eat a bowl of just the sauce. The naan was perfect this time, not too dough-y at all. The garlic stood out on this naan a lot more than the onion naan. I liked mopping up all the wonderful flavors. We decided to try a dessert so we settled on the cheese since the rice pudding was out. What a wonderful surprise! It's a little citrus mixed with something automatic and lots of nice creamy cold milk and homemade cheese. The perfect way to end a spice filled dinner! One star has been taken away due to service (pleasant but slow) and my OCD about how disorganized and lack of flow the dining space has. The food is amazing so if you can get past the oddly arranged tables, weird separation of bar/kitchen and restaurant then you should really eat here. Everyday. Seriously. read more
