I had high hopes reading the reviews. But Oh boy wasn't it disappointing. First of all the Gulab Jamuns were rotten. Had that sour smell & rotten taste. We had to spit it out. You can see the image (dark hard center). There were literally no differences between the goat curry & lamb Korma. Again both were very average and both authentic. May be it's their own version but the curries looked and tasted exactly the same. The bread pakoras were really good though. Masala Papad were ehh nothing special. Overall it is a clean nice place with not so good food.

Tandoori Express, Oakhurst: 2025 Jul 31 (3.33) I ordered to-go because of my schedule. When I got there, Vansh came out of the kitchen to greet me. Vansh didn't seem like he was in the mood to serve. He was very short with me. (2 of 5) My order: Lamb biryani is a classic South Asian dish featuring tender pieces of lamb layered with fragrant basmati rice, aromatic spices, and caramelized onions. It's a culinary masterpiece that combines rich flavors and textures into one satisfying meal. Unfortunately, the lamb, though tasty, was cold, tough and chewy. The rice was dry and lacked taste and I couldn't find any caramelized onions in my rice, just pieces of onion. (3 of 5) I grabbed a Mango Lassi to-go. Mango lassi is a popular Indian yogurt-based drink made with yogurt, mangoes, and sugar. It is known for its creamy texture and sweet, tropical mango flavor. Today was not a main meal kind of day, but the mango lassi scored a 5 of 5.

Amazing little place for Indian food when you are in the area. I grabbed dinner a few times here when traveling to Yosemite NP!

Really enjoyed dinner here tonight! Some of the best Butter Chicken I've ever had! Service was great too! Only thing holding this back from five stars is that it was crazy hot inside in August. Like they just not have AC or their AC was broken. That said, there's something to be said about eating amazing Indian food with sweat pouring down your face!

I don't like to eat out during the trips, but this place is a gem. Food was sooo good, I left my bowl clean. Extremely delicious! I ordered lamb tikka masala which comes with rice and garlic bread, my hubby had lamb chop and loved it as well

Pretty average Indian food. The curries are on the sweet side. But a good Indian option available on DoorDash.

Really enjoyed the food. However I wanted Saag Paneer and they were out. Ugh..ordered tea came in paper cup no refill...The chicken masala was very good. Nice chicken pieces tiny amount of onion and a couple pieces of peppers. The noti was fresh and good for dipping in masala and chutney. The rice was good and fresh. Slow evening. Couple carry outs and one other table. They do have beer and wine. Masala : 4.5 Out of stock on dish i wanted -2 Noti :5 Rice : 5 Service 4.5 Tea should be in a pot and at least 1 refill. I would return when in the area.

Prompt service, pleasant Indian music, delicious food! A pleasant surprise to find an Indian Restaurant near the south entrance to Yosemite!

Not bad for a random Indian place in Oakhurst! Came after a day in Yosemite so I was ravenous, and the portions were pretty decent! I got a vegetarian curry (comes with rice), chicken tikka app, and rosemary naan. I couldn't finish it all, but it made for a lovely breakfast the next morning (reheats well). The staff were friendly and helpful. The vibe inside is mid-scale, but they have outdoor bathrooms (reasonably clean) and Indian music videos playing on loop on the TVs. It's conveniently located right off the Main Street, so easy to find. Wouldn't seek it out, but if you're staying in oakhurst it'll do just fine if you want Indian food :)

    It was GOOD!

It isn't often that I find food that makes me wish I had a larger stomach. Living in a small mountain town and seeing that it is a franchise, I didn't have high expectations walking in. Imagine my delight and surprise to have some frickin' delicious, authentic Indian cuisine only a short while later! Service was great, people were friendly, and I will be back soon!

I love my shrimp butter masala, it's rich and creamy, a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spiciness. This dish would be perfect if fresh shrimp were used instead of frozen ones, but given the location and price, there's not much to complain. Mango lassi is also my go-to drink, so creamy and silky. Garlic naan is crispy on the edge, a bit greasy on the fingers. Staff are friendly.

And most places that sell Indian tacos use the cheapest version of those ingredients they can find, cheap ground beef, discount, pre-shredded cheese and iceberg lettuce. They just seem a little gimmicky. Where this place shines is their jams and jellies. Those are amazing!!! Homemade, flavorful and delicious the jams are the reason you need to swing by! We bought a few jars and with every spoonful we revel in their wonderfulness while simultaneously mourning the fact that we're one precious serving closer to an empty jar. Go get a bunch of jam! And if you accidentally have a mediocre "taco" on the way out, then so be it.

I was expecting a taco truck in a casino parking lot, but this was more like a deluxe wooden shack on private property. Prior to this, I'd only had 'Indian tacos' once before, at a Native American cultural day at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento. That one time was pretty much enough to make me a fan for life. Frybread tacos are all about the frybread. Truth be told, the filings don't matter. (As I write this, I can imagine a future full of gourmet 'Indian' tacos on Instagram, but...) The tacos are filled with cheap, super basic ingredients like full fat ground beef, iceberg lettuce, beef tomatoes, and "Mexican cheese blend." It's basically "white people taco night" on frybread. To me, having grown up in extreme poverty, these tacos taste like surviving poverty. They taste like a kind of soul food that you can only understand if you've lived it. (So if I see any too-privileged people knocking stars off because these tacos are exactly what they're supposed to be, I'll be shook.) When I saw the menu, I couldn't believe how cheap it all was. I'm pretty sure they need to raise their prices. I ordered a taco and a burrito (and got completely stuffed) for less than ten bucks. The ladies who work here all seemed super sweet. It didn't take long to get my order, and, in case this isn't clear by now, it was so good. I loved it. I plan to come back with friends.

Ordered: Chicken tika masala Chicken pakora ( all Chicken ) Samosas (wish I had ordered more) An order of garlic naan which was 4 triangles. Then they brought us tamarind sauce and the wonderful green sauce! I'm sorry, im impressed I remembered this much ( also I wish I was hungrier but had a late lunch so we had to tame our ordering).
