COME HUNGRY!!! I've been here twice, and both visits were well above the 3 stars that currently sit on Yelp & Google. I love Tandoori Flame for its food, variety, and atmosphere. The interior is beautiful and spacious, which is great for groups of all sizes. As someone who considers Indian food once of their favorite cuisines, coming here is like being a kid im a candy shop. All the curries have amazing flavor and just the right amount of spices, they make fresh naan & dosas to order, endless options of yogurts, chutneys, garnishes, fresh fruit/veg, and desserts. My favorite curries were the Kadai Paneer, Butter Butter Chicken, Malai Soya Chaap, and Palak Paneer. I've had their biryanis in the past as well and I do remember them being amazing just a little on the spicier side. When I go to buffets like this I typically focus on the proteins and freshly made breads. They have a large (if not the same quantity as the meat ones) variety for vegetarians as well. I like that some of the desserts they put up here are rotational and different from what you'd usually find at an a la carte or other indian buffets, like sweet white pumpkin and rose flavored rice pudding. They still have classics like gajar ka halwa, gulab jamun, and mango custard but it's always fun to try new stuff. I find that price is standard, if not slightly cheaper than other buffet formats like sushi, kbbq, hotpot, etc. and as someone who frequently enjoys eating solo I'd probably stick to coming around weekday lunchtime for a lower price. Service was deceng, I felt that my table was regularly kept clean but it took a while for me to get a water refill and more napkins. Overall I recommend Tandoori Flame, it's definitely a unique experience with what they offer & this is going to be one of my top spots for when I'm feeling a treat :) read more

I went during the holidays and paid $40pp. The restaurant is quite large and offers ample seating. We didn't have any wait. They give you a seating time limit of 90 minutes. The servers really try to push you to order/purchase drinks upon arrival. The still water on the table is also an additional charge, so don't fall for the bait. We had to request "tap water" specifically multiple times to avoid getting charged for the still water. The buffet itself was good. There was a decent variety and they kept replenishing dishes rather quickly. I enjoyed the made-to-order roti station and the garlic naan in particular. It was fun to try the different curries. Keep in mind the proteins are mostly chicken, with some goat and vegetarian (chickpea, paneer) options. There's no beef or pork. The mains are good, but rather heavy so I had a difficult time eating a lot. The entrees were better than the desserts. Overall, very decent Indian food. It's more worth it if you value being able to sample different dishes/flavours. The servers cleared our plates quickly, but were very slow to fill up our glasses with tap water. While paying the bill, I didn't appreciate how pushy our server was about leaving a five-star review. It made me feel uncomfortable. So here I am leaving my honest experience/review. read more

Large selection of cocktails/mocktails and other Indian favorites. Great service and fast table turns if you are waiting. Despite the average 3-star rating Tandoori Flame has on Yelp, I think they're better than that. From the outside, they don't look like much. Maybe they took over an old restaurant because the wood looks outdated. The entrance walkway has hanging colorful flower pots but reeked of fertilizer. It was nauseating. The interior is nice. You're greeted by the hostess upon entering, then there is a bar to the right. I think the bar elevates the restaurant vibes. The placemats on the tables are so good. The drinks look really appealing! I took the time to check out the drinks, and they all sound very good. Our server was ok. There was more than one person clearing our plates. The food was good! There was so much variety. The names of the dishes were written on the glass case. I didn't know what everything was, but it was fun to try. Overall: 4/5 Great Indian buffet in Mississauga! Not necessarily the best Indian food I've had, but it was good for a buffet! Food: 3.8/5 Pani Puri- I was craving this for a while and loved it but could be just because I've been wanting it for so long! The station where you make it yourself is great because you can also add some yogurt. Butter chicken a normal butter chicken! Great with naan - same with the tandoori chicken. Ambiance: 4/5 - nice Indian atmosphere; also, I liked how they had these special fans to absorb some of the smell of the curries, so the smell doesn't linger on your clothes. Service: 4/5 - friendly staff, nice that they had a station where they also make pani puris for you (or can do it yourself). Would come back if ever looking for an Indian buffet! read more

We visited for their weekly dinner buffet and were pleasantly surprised by the number of food options and how good everything we tried tasted. The standouts: Gol Gappe and chaat corner, yummy tandoori chicken tikka and fish tikka, hot and cold desserts (kheer, rasgullas etc), good selection of veggie curries and dosas-idlis with yummy coconut chutneys. p.s all the curries were spicy, but not too creamy or heavy. The cons: if you're not clear enough, you'll have to pay for the Evian water. Just get the iced tap water if you're not picky. The location is great, with nice decor and ambience. We went there for Lunch Buffet on Thursday. Buffet was HUGE! - reminded me of Barbecue Nation in Pune. Paani puri, Soup, 4 appetizer varieties., Pav bhaji, 20 different salad varieties, Biryani, 10 different Entree's , 14 types of sweets, 20 flavors of icecream. And not to forget a full bar! I am sure I still have forgotten a few things! The place is big with close to a 100 tables, there was no wait time, although we did reach late for lunch (2.30pm) Service was fast and everyone was very polite and the food was always warm and being replenished quickly. Place has an average Indian food, but they apply cheap tactics to get more money from you. Water on the table will cost you 7 dollars+ taxes, which they wont mention until you open. They will not offer normal tap water and even if you ask, they will give half glass of water. They will push you for drinks without mentioning their prices, while the restaurant itself has 99% indian staff when you pay they send an english lady to collect the bill with a minimum tip of 12%, While I understand tip is a normal customary in Canada you dont need to apply these cheap tactics. Customers will happily pay tip, if the service is really good. By the way I am not sure what the tip is for here, when they are just there to push you spend unnecessarily, than to really provide customer service. Place will have great customer experience, if they stop these stupid tactics and treat customers genuinely with their food and service. read more

They operate on first come first serve basis and don't accept reservations and you have 1.5 hours to finish your food once you're seated. The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly and do a good job of collecting empty dishes from the tables. But, I dont get charging 12% gratuity for groups of 6+, because I don't see the staff offering extra service to those groups. Paying $45 per person doesn't make sense. They have good variety of Indian dishes including many vegetarian options. They bake fresh bread ans serve it. The chicken tandoori and butter chicken were my favorite. The desserts were delicious and flavorful. I'd recommend adding some non-spicy options for groups that come with kids and they cannot eat spicy food; right now, the only option is feeding them fries and no protein. read more

Tandoori Flame has had this Mississauga location for years and we finally decided to give it a try. We have eaten at the Brampton location a couple times a long time ago. I did read the reviews on Yelp before going and did note that the ratings are not that good, however Indian buffets in the area are kind of rare now a days, and we did not want to take the drive to Bombay Palace (which has been our go to for Indian buffet since Masala Bites closed). So, despite the 2+ star rating in Yelp, we gave this place a try. It turns out, the Yelp reviews were correct as usual. The service was actually pretty good, the front desk was friendly, although they made sure we knew that they had a 1 hour and 30 minute seating limit. We arrived on a Saturday at about 12:00 PM and we were seated right away. The restaurant was about one third full at that time, and only two thirds full when we left, so the time limit was not needed since they had plenty of seating. Our dishes were cleared promptly after each round of the buffet. The food was ok, some of the curries were colder than others and some tasted better than others. So, it was a mix of good and not so great buffet options. The mutton was tough, the goat was good, and the best was the lamb curry. The chili chicken was one of the worst offerings. The desert was pretty good though with nice selection. Overall, this food was average, and the service was good. I did heed the warning that several Yelpers posted in their reviews and did not open the bottle of water on the table. It is a trap, and they would have charged us a lot for drinking that water. Instead, we asked the waitress for water which she brought in different glasses. So, thank you Yelpers for the warning. read more

I love Indian Cuisine and I never waste food. I've been to Tandoori Flame too many times to count because I really used to love this restaurant. The waiters are friendly and really seem to care about the patrons. I have however, lost confidence in their kitchen staff. Frankly, I don't think that they bother to review what we write. On both of my last two visits the food from the buffet was cold - not even tepid. Rice, pakoras, and samosas were barely room temperature. We had the same waiter twice and each time he went to speak to the kitchen staff. I can honestly say that they must have ignored him because nothing changed. Half an hour later food was still cold! I frequent Indian restaurants because I love the spices and the flavours. Sadly, some dishes at Tandoori Flame are so spicy that it is an unpleasant experience eating some of their dishes. One really cannot taste the vegetables that have been prepared. Perhaps they make them spicy hot to cover the fact that their hot buffet dishes are so cold. Gravely disappointed that one of my past favourite restaurants has let me down twice. It is my intention never to return. read more

I had the absolute worst experience with Aman Gulati, who claims to be the "owner" but clearly skipped the memo on professional conduct (and food safety too, judging by the state of the place). During the interview for a restaurant management position, I was asked completely inappropriate and illegal questions: "Are you married?", "Do you have kids?", "How old are you?", and "When do you plan on having children?"--umm, excuse me? This is not 1950. When I mentioned I prioritize food safety (because duh--it's a restaurant), he brushed it off like it was beneath him. Maybe that's why the food sucks and the place needs a serious inspection. This was verbal harassment, discriminatory, and a complete waste of time. I visited the Tandoori Flame restaurant few days back to try their dinner buffet and loved the overall dining experience. There was a large variety of options to choose from including a wide range of Indian food from different parts of the country. For starters I especially loved their Pav Bhaji, Lamb Chops, Chicken Afghani Kebab, and the Chicken Malai Kebab. They also had Chicken Tikka, fresh fruits, Papri, Sukha Panipuri and a few salads for starters. For the Main course there was Biryani, Butter chicken, Butter naan, Prawn, and a few other items including vegetarian options. Coming to the dessert there was Gajar ka halwa, badaam halwa, gulab jamun, jalebi, lemon tart, carrot cake, vanilla cupcakes, and ice cream among a few others. We were visiting Family and Canada and they decided to take us to this restaurant. It had a great atmosphere. The decorations were wonderful. There was a huge demand for the buffet, which was great. There were so many different types of food for around the cultures of India, which was great. The quality was probably any other quality you would receive at an Indian restaurant, but it was just fun to have the variety and will of being able to eat as much as little as needed. My kids really enjoyed their opportunity to eat different types of food from India. I appreciated. The kids buffet was at a lower cost than the regular adult buffet, but it was still a little bit on the price your side, but well worth the time in with family. We did have a large party which we had to give a deposit for, which I did not understand because this is not a typical practice for businesses in America. But nonetheless, it was definitely an enjoyable time for our family to eat at this restaurant with the ambience and the staff that made it a great experience. read more

You have to get the goat curry and pair it with the lachcha paratha if you happen to dine at Tandoori flame. First off, they are pretty generous with the portion of meat they serve in their goat curry. Second, the goat is tender and falling off the bone. Third, yes that's right, they're served as pieces that might be clinging on to bone, so be careful before you crunch down. And remember, bone means flavor, so get over it. The lachcha paratha is flaky and layered do perfection with great creased pockets to hold that delicious gravy as you pop it into your mouth. The chicken biryani was not the best I've tasted. I wish the rice wasn't as moist (soggy) as it wouldn't be in a typical biryani which has layers of dry and masala, and also the meat itself was lacking seasoning and flavor. Watery and flavorless curries, frozen quality naan, several stale dishes, and probably one of the worst dessert spreads I've ever seen at any kind of buffet. Like others have mentioned about the bottled flat water issue, the server needs to INFORM the guest it's a billable bottle of water. The 1.5 hour seating time was ridiculous when we were intentionally early enough to not impede on the guests who would come for 7pm,and later. My preference is to eat at 7pm,and later. Food I knew could be hit,or miss at a buffet I have never eaten at. Especially post COVID drama,people's hygiene was top of mind. I found Tandoori Flame replenished the food slower than I wanted with that imposed time limit. For example, I was not getting my goat,plus lamb without a wait to ONLY get one of the two as my "allotted" time closed in. The roti, I swore there was a hair with the piece I reloaded after the first one that was so fresh,and good.This ruined my meal. Desserts , plus food. I think it would be fair to include one complimentary drink for the price they charge for the buffet. I loved their live counters including live tandoori. What we are told is North America's largest Indian Buffethas reopened with a covid-friendly buffet at the table. Most dishes are decent or good, and it's good value. The chicken tikka was among the moistest I've had and very tasty, but quite spicy. Fried fish was good - lightly coated so it wasn't overpowered by the gram flour, and very moist. The chicken briyani was very moist and really tasty. Kharoda was a good strong bone marrow soup.Bhalia papri chaat was alright. Gol gappe (pani puri) was so-so. Chicken tikka pizza was pretty good. Masala dosa bites were ok. The kachumber salad was well-balanced. Butter Naan was pretty good even if not the best. It also came in a rather large portion unlike the other dishes so we couldn't try another naan. But then I guess the naans are cooked in standard sizes. The mains were a bit of a mixed bag. The kadai paneer tasted good, but the texture of the paneer was a bit off (too soft). The punjabi goat masala had a good cut of goat (very meaty) and was pretty tasty. The mughlai chicken was a bit bland and the butter chicken was so so (not very rich). The chicken curry was pretty good though, with an edge to it. As for the desserts, the badam kheer (stewed almond desert) and gulkand phirni (rice pudding) were both so so. The garam pista jalebi (fried dough in syrup)was good - crispy and sweet with a hint of complexity, though with a bit of an oily taste. They have a lot of interesting and innovative drinks too. Anarkali (rose, pomegranate & lemon citrus, which came with edible hibiscus) was quite good. This place has good service for an Indian place. We asked for small portions (so we could try more dishes) and this was almost always respected. The decor was also very modern. The only annoying thing about this place was at the end of the meal, our server asked us if we wanted falooda and said it was amazing. It turned out to be chargeable, but he hadn't mentioned that so I thought it was included in the buffet. I came on a busy Friday evening, the restaurant is small to begin with, the serving tables are also small, and the dining rooms are tight. You can't help but be run into while getting your food, and at your table. Even the staff didn't have room to stand, and were blocking the entrance into the dining room. Since it is a buffet, guests are always up and down, so it wasn't pleasant to have patrons and staff bumping into the back of my chair while I was dining. In veg starter, the soy chap and paneer were equally good. In main course, there was mutton curry and three chicken curry. The butter chicken stood out. Biryani was also delicious with a bit of tang. Paneer starters and curry were the highlight. The paneer is soft as a cloud. In desserts, gulab jamun and gajar halwa stole the show. Rasagulla was very dry. Wish they had live counter items like jalebi. In icecreams, the cookie dough, caramel and strawberry were delicious with the melt-in-our-mouth kinda feeling. The dinner buffet plus 2 sodas came to $90 and that's with a 15% tip. Don't like they assumed one would give a 18% tip as a default selection when you pay with debit or credit. They only got 15% because no one came to check on us if everything was okay or not and i'f we needed anything. The curries were very good especially the butter chicken, curry goat, curry veggies and the spinach with paneer. There was about 12 kinds of curries and 3 kinds of rice. Which includes about 7 kinds of vegetarian choices. Salads were limited but good and refreshing. There's big pieces of naan bread and fresh rolled up lentil crisps which h were my favorite. came here for my aunt and uncles 25th wedding anniversary dinner with my whole family. My cousin (their daughter) and made reservations for our us - as it was a surprise to my aunt and uncle. when we arrived (on time, surprisingly) they had told us a private section (promised) was not ready and that they could put is in a common area for the time being. This was upsetting because we were all widely separated. after complaining several times, they finally moved us to a more private (not completely) area near the back of the restaurant and gave us 4 tables to accommodate the size. my cousins and i all sat together and as we ordered the first round of beers (two pitchers) they came flat.. so we sent it back.. low and behold the next pitcher comes and again, FLAT.. so we send it back and this time the owner/manager comes to talk to us, questioning if we know how to drink beer and what flat beer means? Offending my brother, he goes why don't you get me a regular pint of something else and lets compare that to this draft.. he comes back with another beer in a pint glass.. only for that to be flat as well. it took our dad and elder cousin to step in and state that we knew what we wer talking about and to avoid severing us a pitch but bottles instead. To my surprise, when we got the bill, both pitchers and the additional pint that was not consumed were charged to us! a place of horrible customer service - do not expect my family to return here again! read more

Shady business practices. When you ask for water, they give you a bottle and the cost is $5. However, they don't tell you theres a charge at all. When we weren't finished the first bottle, they gave us another bottle and tried to charge us for that too. Luckily we didn't open it or that would have been another $5. Lastly, when I got the payment machine, they just handed me it when it was at the tip option without even showing the total number. Obviously it's a scam. I had to ask for the receipt to see what the upcharge was. Scummy practice overall. Food is average at best as well. Would not recommend. read more

I liked the food and variety there. Even though I only tried Vegetarian dishes but then also, I couldn't able to try them all. The ambience is totally pleasant and the serving team knows really well how to behave with their customers. One demerit I found is their less sitting time. They should extend it to 2 hours at-least; as one-and-half hour seemed less to me. Otherwise, It's a great place to visit if you wanna try Indian Buffet. read more

After my wonderful experience from last year I was so excited to return but... To my dismay... We were (My best friend and I) seated after showing proof of vaccination & I'd. May I add no where at the restaurant was their any signage of this at all. But we are both vaccinated so we were fine. We were told that masks must stay on unless seated in our seats. Also anytime you grab food from the buffet you need to be wearing plastic gloves. I thought to myself. "Wow, so efficient." Boy was I ever wrong. I counted as we were seated near the buffet itself over 20 people not wearing gloves and this includes the chefs themselves when they were on their breaks and getting food themselves. It was also very crowded. Not to mention I witnessed a few people not wearing any masks. I even told the waitress this and she did not have much to say. Um... Am I missing something here? One of the chefs that was making the naan and the meat was not wearing a mask whatsoever... He was clearing handling food. I love the double standard here. Usually when going to an Indian restaurant the mixed pickle is very small, but you can take as much as you want. VEGAN OPTIONS - Not really. It's Indian food, so you should ask based on whichever dishes you're planning to eat. But it's *highly* likely that everything contains at least a little bit of butter, ghee, or a dollop of yogurt, somehow somewhere. Trust me on this. This location is slightly smaller than the one on Dixie, and offers a smaller and different selection of food. Below is my review for the main location, but it holds true for this one as well: This is LARGE scale Indian buffet at it's best. Although none of the options are specifically amazing, the fact that there is SO much selection, and that everything is SO decent overall is a triumph. This place gets packed on the regular, with people showing up right until the last 30 minutes til closing time. Even then, the food is still fresh, hot and being replenished as needed. If you've been to a few Indian buffets, you know that this is not always the case. Often times the food is either old, cold, or not replenished for the last hour(s) of the night. That is never the case at Tandoori Flame. This place keeps the fires going until the doors are officially closed. Probably the best part about this buffet is the golgappe bar. Those in the know understand that you basically get your money's worth off that alone! Most places in the GTA charge about $5 for 5-8 puris. So, the fact that you can have as many as you want here, with an unlimited supply of pani and puris, is a total score! And the pani is good. So are the chutneys. My husband also really enjoys the seekh kebab selection during the weekend buffet. I want to emphasize the fact that this is not the best Indian food in general. However it is the best value for your buffet dollar, and it is far better than most a la carte places. As far as Indian buffets o, this is probably one of the better ones I have been. I really like how they make the naan bread fresh and it is not overly cooked or burnt. The butter chicken is sweeter than other restaurants I have tried. It isn't a bad thing but this more of preference on how you like your butter chicken. I came to this restaurant for my mom and dad's birthday and there was a bday coupon for one free patron. It gives the bday person a free buffet meal on the condition that you order 2 drinks. So in a way the bday free buffet is not really free. A bit misleading in my opinion. Otherwise, I do recommend this place. read more

Not only naan almost every food items that are kept in the buffet are made fresh in front of you. I give 5 stars for the food quality and quantity,ambiance, good service and the refreshing people around you. It is a must visit place to experience rich Indian food. This is quite a nice AYCE place for Indian cuisine... we have been there several times and always found the place with high occupancy, even in weekdays lunch!! A good number of choices, starting from salad bar, Indian curry, sweet and desert, ice cream, chat station (Indian street food) and also a small section for Chinese and Italian items. Food quality is better than average and prompt to fill up consumed items. The service is not that remarkable, and needs improvement. read more
