Its nice to have an authentic Chinese diner available along with all the American-Chinese ones, especially in Sandy. This hidden gem is flavorful, affordable, and offers highly customizable meals. The concept is simple -- grab a bowl, walk the vast array of vegetables, noodles, meat, fungus, eggs, etc to choose what you want to go into your hot pot. You then take it to the front counter where it gets weighed ($12.99/lb.) and you select one of four broths to go with. The cook then takes your bowl and the final concoction is delivered to your table by the exuberant Jessie (owner). I thought I would end up paying quite a bit based on the eight price but surprisingly, I didn't. My bowl of egg, meat, noodles, and some veggies only came to half a pound, so I paid $6.50 for a ramen bowl that would have been double that elsewhere. Not only that, the meal was delicious. It was a clean taste and not choked with salt, sugar, and any additives like I've had before. I got the mild and then was able to manually spice it up at a nearby condiment table where I added a few dashes of sriracha and chili oil. Multiple types of mushrooms, quail eggs, fish balls, several types of tofu, and a full load of veggies stood out. Decked out in resplendent red, the restaurant was vibrant, colorful, super clean, and lots of natural lighting. Everything was written in mandarin as well as English and the authentic roots to China were evident. We enjoyed our meal immensely! Xie xie ni, Jessie!

It was our first time with this kind of setup: you pack up your bowl with whatever you want from the bar, then they'll ring it up by the lbs and cook for you. I thought it was pretty good but my stomach was not used to the seasoning and had a hard time digesting hours afterward. Glad to have something different in Utah/salt lake area.

I visited again. It was delicious! The takeout packaging is excellent. No spills and the soup stayed hot.

Had this place again today. Flavor is still spot on, everything else was meh. The ingredients looked like they've been out awhile; with a few items mislabeled. The lady questioned my wife when she asked to not have any sesame paste in her dry pot. I don't know if it was because my wife was Caucasian or what. But when I asked, she was fine with it. Also, my wife is vegan and she only chose vegan ingredients, but it came out with little pieces of beef. I'm guessing they're not cleaning their woks properly between dishes. The rice was also dry and the sauce bar was lacking. Each sauce/ingredient was low and again mislabeled.

We came around 6:30pm and there was no one. There was barely any ingredients and meat. They didn't even bother to refill it. Service was poor. Overall, I don't like it and don't recommend.

Amazing flavor with great variety of options. You pay per lbs and get exactly what you want at a fair and affordable price. Went back to back days and making this a weekly stop.

Good service, pay for what you eat. Good ambiance and staff. Great alternative to AYCE hotpot when you want something similar

Expensive and foods are not good. We ordered to go order, got lots of cheap stuff. Not worth the price.

Overall 5/5: Wow! This was a fun place to eat at. I definitely recommend people to try this place…read moreout. The place was clean. Food was fresh. There were so many options. Price was cheaper than other comparable AYCE hot pot places in NYC at 30.99 for standard tier and even a 23.99 weekday lunch deal which is a steal. This place was truly felt like a slice of New York City on our vacation BUT unlike NYC, the service was so friendly. Tip was included in the bill so we accidentally tipped again. We didn't know this until the manager came out and insisted she return the extra tip. If this is not a testament to great service, I don't know what is. Ambiance 5/5: Everything was clean. The place was large so tables were adequately spaced. Place was well lit. Warm decor and colors. Service 5/5: Great service. People were welcoming. Staff were stationed around the self serve bar to assist customers. Manager was super nice and even returned money to us when we accidentally double tipped. Food 5/5: They have A LOT of options here. There were two pricing tiers. Premium was 36.99 and standard was 30.99. Premium offered cuts of wagyu, shrimp paste, and leg of lamb for every 2 persons in your party. I felt like I would've been happy with just the standard tier since there was more than enough food. They have a self serve cotton candy machine, soda machine, make your own BOBA station, and ice cream. Even without the hot pot, there were AYCE pre-cooked entrees at the bar including soup, noodles, fried/plain rice. Also had AYCE appetizers like fries and fried chicken. The raw station for the hot pot included noodles, seafood, and veggies. Everything was fresh, clean, and delicious so you can't go wrong with this place.

My only disappointment is that they don't serve tom yum as a broth option like other happy lamb locations but that's not much of a big deal.

After a quick tutorial how to use the iPad to order, we were able to order up to 10 items and had to wait 10 minutes for our next order. A bit cumbersome but I survived. I ordered too many appetizers and should have added more ingredients for my hot pot. Lesson learned. Everything was very fresh and the water tasted very good. The staff is very friendly, patient and helpful. The place is clean and the men's bathroom spotless. The burners for the KBB and Hot Pot are portable and be attentive so not to overcook your food. You will need to ask the server to extinguish the flames and restart... that's how I did it anyway. The food was fresh, well seasoned and the place was clean. I liked my AYCE experience... oh, there's a two hour limit. Bon appetite

Their self serve bar also came with lots of veggies, noodles, seafood and an entire sauce bar! We went for over 2 rounds of protein, I loved the short ribs. And when they say unlimited they really meant it. It was a very good price for hotpot and bbq combo. There were also desserts but I didn't get to it. Bookmarking this spot and I'm definitely coming back. The staff was friendly and came back to check on us for additional rounds of food. The interior was also nice with booths and space. They opened at 11 and I got there around 10 min after opening. The person at the front desk/server couldn't speak English very well but we made ourselves understand one another. Nothing was ready for service. I think that's my biggest complaint. All of the buffer counters were empty. He said around 10 min. No problem. I have my phone for entertainment. Around 15 min later, some items were finally laid out and I got my tomato hot pot going. The buffet has lots of variety from vegetables to seafood when it was finally filled. I also had the bbq - bulgolgi chicken and beef. Both were sliced on the thicker side. Both tasted really good. Again, took forever to get that going. Even when I left at 12:40pm, there were only two items in the ready made food section and the rest of the trays were empty. Come here around 1PM for lunch. Hopefully dinner would not be a problem.
