Yes, this is a full fledged saloon but there is more (early breakfast) If you are in Weaverville for winter fishing you likely need an early start and a hot breakfast. The Tangle Blue has a hot breakfast and it is quick and tasty and filling and served with a smile, even at 6:30 in the am. Ate there two consecutive mornings and the doors were open by the time we arrived at 6:15 am and we were out of the place by 6:45. The owners have a nice manner and understand the need for service, even in a town where they are one of the few places to serve food. The entire staff is friendly and the experience enjoyable. "Awesome place to stop for a burger" (other items on the menu are great too!) You will feel welcomed the minute you step thru the doorway. There are comfortable tables to sit at with your family and there is even an outdoor eating area with a waterfall! They have a great menu accommodating both meat eaters and vegetarians. They have awesome wood fired pizzas too! The Burgers are Kobe beef and they are amazing and huge!! My new favorite is the California burger, and I love that they grill the buns, and that the hamburger was delivered super hot and delicious! Showed up to restaurant at 11:00am order was finally taken at 11:40. Food for 4 arrived after 12:30. Had a table seated after us, fed before us and left before us. Terrible service, every single possible request was either forgotten or miserably executed, found a bone in our toast after it was forgotten with our meal, ordered Mac and cheese, forgotten... waitress then asks us 30 minutes after reminding her "if we still want the Mac and cheese or if we no longer want it" we declined. Asked for boxes for our left overs and after 4 attempts to get a box we finally received a box. Sat waiting for a check for 15 minutes. It's 12:57 now. A terrible 2 hour experience for breakfast skillets, French toast breakfast and a damn burger and fries. Being one of the only places in town, you should train Anna to be more attentive and have her carry a pen and notepad to avoid being reminded of simple requests. 8 tables seater during this entire time, split amongst 2 waitresses. Came here last night for dinner, had a great time. Tipped $40 on a $120 meal. $0 tip today. Shame. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars because it's currently my favorite place to eat in Weaverville. Possibly because they have the best veggie burger around. Or maybe it's because they have my favorite beer. No.... It's because some of my favorite musicians play there. Actually, it's all of those things including how friendly the staff is and all of the other delicious food on the menu. If you're passing through or you live in Weaverville, don't be fooled by the sports bar ambiance when you walk in. Check out the patio out back and enjoy some wood fired pizzas with your family. Let me just start by saying that this whole ordeal lasted two hours. Our food came after an hour and asking for our check led us into 2 hours. We made several attempts at asking our server for the simplest of things, only to be forgotten. We ended up leaving without a side of mac and cheese and toast that were ordered with our meal at the BEGGINING! My boyfriend finished his beverage within the first 30 minutes and NOT ONCE during these two hours was he offered a refill. I only got a refill because I went into the inner restaurant from being seated outside and asked for one only for it to be given to me by someone other than my original server. Let me also mention that when I went in their I saw my server on her phone... not a great look for the restaurant. She was pretty snippy when I asked her for the 4th time if I could get two to-go boxes, my check, a refill and the Mac and cheese and toast we never recieved. Even worst is the fact that a table that came in AFTER our party ordered, ate, and left while we were STILL waiting on our order. The server was Ana, I believe. Great food. Came to this restaurant to eat a quick hot breakfast on our way back to San Francisco. Waitress was very nice, however it took an hour and 45 minutes to receive our food, which was cold, and needed to keep asking for napkins, water, coffee, and even the menus. We went inside to use the restroom to see the employees standing around talking, even after we expressed our desire for speedy service. The service was bad and the food was worse. They were not wearing masks, and were clearly unhygienic, which is illegal. read more

Some friends and I stopped by here for lunch on Saturday whilst visiting from out of town. We had heard that this place had great burgers, and we were not disappointed! We each had a different burger and all were cooked to perfection - my rare one came out rare, the other folks' medium and medium well came cooked as requested. The toppings were divine, and the fries are about the best fries any of us have ever had, we unanimously agreed. And our waitress could not have been more friendly and accommodating. My best friend lives up in this general area (50 miles away or so), and I plan on visiting her very soon and taking her to Tangle Blue. This place is great! Came to eat here with my friends (7/8 Pocs) and once we arrived they set up our table in the back outdoor seating. Mind you one of my friends asked for a menu before we were seated and once we were seated they still didn't hand us menus. We waited about 20 minutes to get menus for the rest of the group and in between that wait they brought us all water. Maybe I'm looking at this too deep but it felt pretty awful in the moment they brought us water in paper cups. My friends and I thought nothing of it until another group was seated next to us (all Caucasian) and they were served water in regular serving cups. Ohhh well, we felt weird about it but we're still patiently waiting for menus. Party on the left had the waiter stop by and talk to them about 3 times. While we in the moment still didn't even have menus. The party that came in after us (to the right) had menus and even requested to move tables. At this point we were pretty frustrated especially since we knew we would be ordering lots of food and were starving at this point. Finally they bring us the menus and we look at them quickly knowing what it is we want. We wait even longer about maybe 10 more minutes and nothing. At this point we all start feeling discriminated and extremely irritable. We all decide to just leave since we are all feeling uncomfortable and just not in the mood to be ignored. Once we walk out the back gate and left. On top of that they had dogs in the outdoor seating (nothing wrong with that) but the waiter was touching the dogs and had the dogs on her. Which is gross especially since she will be handling our food. They paid more attention to the dogs then they did to my friend group and I. Food and drinks were great until an older racist waitress came over to our table and asked us "If we spoke English." Beyond disrespectful to me and the rest of my multiculdturaled group of friends. She later was heard saying other racial slurs to my African American friend. This waitress should not be allowed to work in an establishment that serves the community of mixed races going through their doors every day. I'am outraged and I hope management provided the proper coaching and development to this unhappy individual. read more

We have eatten there now 4 times in last 5 weeks ( 3 friday night fish frys and one for lunch). All have been excellent meals except one. Early in the evening around 6:30 they ran out of the fish. They right away offered us the regular fish on the menu we took it. It was still a good fish meal but, what I could remember it tasted different(still a great fish) when we asked same fish just prepared with a different batter. The ladies who served us have been great. We will surely go back there 5th, 6th, ... 99th time. If the rest of the menu is anything like the fish we have a new stopping place on our to fishing. read more

Found this place late with the family on the way home from the coast. We came in on a Sunday night when they were serving food for only 5 more minutes... I expected attitude and was greeted with warm welcoming energy. The atmosphere is old school bar vibes inside...but we took a look out back and it's a really impressive scene that looks like it would be fun... with a waterfall and all. But the thing that will bring us back is the fantastic burgers. They definitely delivered on the FLAVOR!! AND the fries were great as well. read more

Stopped here for lunch when traveling through on hwy 299. We enjoyed the enclosed patio area with lots of jukebox credits thanks to the drunk people there the night before. Good beer selection and lots of food choices. We had a bleu cheese burger and combo pizza and both were excellent. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. It's a pretty small place and everything was cooked to order so there was a bit of a wait...but that gave us an opportunity to enjoy our beers. We will definitely be back!! read more

Yelp says "many businesses are doing their best during Covid..." well if that's the case, Tangle Blues best is pretty pathetic. Went in on Saturday November 14. No wait staff had face mask on except for the one waitress with her face mask on her chin. No safe distance to speak of and larger groups congregating in close quarters. It was really a shame, other restaurants in Weaverville were doing a great job. Places like Tangle Blue will cause closures for us all. read more

Wow 8ve only been here once on a Friday for the Unlimited Fish Fry it was so good I was blown away. They make their own fish sauce you could eat with a fork. The wait time was 45+ minutes and I don't drink so that went by kinda slow if I go back maybe ill ask about a salad to start. But all in all fantastic fish read more

Pizza was good, we were there during lunch time on a Monday. The only problem was the flies! They were so bad we finally covered all our pizza with napkins just so they wouldn't land all over it. This place has a great outdoor family area apart from it's full bar. Looks great and has a fantastic vibe. However, it took over an hour to get our food and when it arrived half the order was cold. The warm items were simply amazing. Mine was not one of those items. Alas I had Burger King across the street as I was unable to wait for them to correct the order.
