If you've read my other reviews, you'd know I'm a vegetarian so I cannot speak for the meat at this place. However, not only is my husband from Argentina, he is also an avid carnivore. And he gives this place a thumbs up. The restaurant looks like a small home on a busy street. It's quaint and cozy inside. The hostess gave us a warm greeting as we sat in a booth. As an appetizer he tried their meat empanada which he thought was so good, we ordered four to take home. I ordered the spinach cannelloni which was very delicious. My husband ordered a meat platter for 1 (parillada para Uno) which was really enough meat for 2-3 people. He chose one side with this. Everything was cooked well. The only gripe he had was that he felt the meat platter should have included blood sausage and sweet breads, as per Argentinian tradition. They lose a star because the service wasn't great. While the server was nice, we waited a long time to get our waters refilled and he never really came by the table to see how things were going. He delivered the food and we didn't see him again until the check came. Whereas at other tables, the servers seemed more attentive. I came here for my birthday dinner and it really is one of the best steaks I've ever had, nothing tops my mama's but tango came pretty darn close! I had the skirt steak and I ate a bit from my family's plates as well. I tried the seafood pasta, so yummy!! I also tried the T-bone steak... YUM. Since it was my birthday, my mom asked the waiters to sing to me... oh boy. They play "happy birthday" on the speakers so the entire restaurant knows it's for you. (We sat in the larger part of the restaurant where they seat you for parties of 3 or more) my dessert was flan with a caramel icing on top, I'm drooling just thinking about eating it again. This is definitely a place where you should expect to bring your family or group of friends. The portions are crazy big! The meat platter could easily feed a family of six. With that being said, everything I tried here was delicious. The bread was crispy on the outside yet soft in the inside. The calamari tasted fresh and bouncy and was not chewy. Win! The empanadas we're packed with meat in case the meat platter wouldn't be enough. The meat platter was overflowing with juicy, tender, fresh meats. Even the salad was generous and delicious at this place. My favorite thing in the menu had to be the red sangria. Call up some family members and friends and head over to this place to have a great meal. My family reserved a room in the back and we had a great time. The staff here are very friendly and pretty chill. You can even bring your drink out on the little patio they have out front. My only suggestion for this place is that they tone down the sugar in the flan. It's a bit overwhelming after eating so much meat. Absolutely amazing restaurant! I live in Queens and would make a trip out to Long Island just to go to this place. I went for the first time last weekend for a birthday dinner--everything was delicious and the service was outstanding. Our table got red sangria, it was so good I wish I could get a bucket of it. We also got the sample platter of appetizers and some empanadas. All of the apps on the platter was delicious--fried shrimp, stuffed veal, dates wrapped in bacon, etc. The empanadas came out and were cold in the middle--but our waiter took them back immediately once we said they were cold. And the best part, was we didn't have to try and flag our waiter down (the dining room was very busy) maybe a minute after the apps came out he came over and asked if everything was okay. New empanadas came out very quickly, and they were piping hot and delicious! We had a group of 9 so for entrees we ordered 2 of the meat platters--I forget the name but it's a platter with an assortment of steaks, and apparently meant for two...that platter could feed a family of 6! I myself was in the mood for a skirt steak, which was perfectly medium rare and a nice big cut! The chimichurri sauce was out of this world, I could drink that stuff with a straw it was so good. Now, we had an unfortunate accident occur where another waiter knocked over a glass of sangria on one of the guests--totally not his fault, things happen. Long story short, the manager came over several times and apologized, asked if we needed anything else, if there was anything he could do, and we said we were fine, accidents happen. He ended up comping the whole check! CRAZY! I was NOT expecting that! To summarize, we had an amazing night--great food, drinks, dessert, atmosphere, and BEYOND amazing service. What an amazing experience! This was our first visit to this establishment. My wife and I came for an anniversary dinner. To our timing we personally met with one of the owner's Nicholas whom was not only friendly but personable. He went out of his way to give the top rated suggestions. We were paired with the server Midey. What a customer service oriented employee. Very attentive to our needs despite the restaurant being busy. For appetizers we ordered the shrimp in garlic, exquisite. For our dinners: the skirt steak and a stuffed salmon. The flavors were memorable and the service added to the encounter. Their pasta dishes are delicious and I always take Empanadas home for breakfast the next day. I love the green oily sauce they give you for the beef. It was so much had to take 1/2 of it home. They def don't hold back on their portions. It was good ,, I'm just more of a filet mignon dude. The cuts they give you though very plentiful are cheaper cuts like skirt, sirloin.... next time I think I'll order their filet mignon ,, the way they season the meats I'm sure it will be superb.. Food is great! I came here with a friend and this place we ordered the fried calamari and something my friend called the hunger killer as appetizers. The calamari was perhaps one of the best I have seen prepared. A lot of times you can judge a restaurant's quality by their calamari (bc most places have it on their menu and it is a simple dish that is hard to prepare in the right way). The calamari was perfect and was flavorful and wasn't the least bit rubbery. They sure did it justice. The hunger killer is like veal wrapped egg, spinach, pepper and some other stuff. It is looked delicious (prob cause I was starving) and afterwards i regretted eating it because it left me no stomach for the huge meat dish that came afterward. For entrees we had the porterhouse and the salmon in some sauce that my friend chose not to have. came with veggies and fries. The fries were pretty good, a little under seasoned but still good. The veggies were yummies. The salmon and steak were cooked very nicely and really showcased the food in it's natural state (very little additional seasoning other than salt). I think the porterhouse also came with shrimp in lobster sauce. The shrimp was well cooked but I found the flavor a little bland, probably overpowered by the meat. The sauce was prob a wrong choice on my end. Could've been better there but overall this place is a great find. Service was quick, attentive even though it was a packed house. I ate here with my husband the first time, when we first started dating. We always loved it. I am obsessed with the short ribs and their creamed spinach (which is homemade mmmm) Their empanadas are to die for and pretty much anything you order is delish.- Everybody said I had the best food they ever ate at a wedding-EVERYBODY. I am literally still hearing about it almost a year later. First off, the location is odd, as it is right smack dab next to a transmission repair shop on one side and another auto repair shop on the other. We made a reservation for 10 and the staff had given us the front area of the restaurant. Foodwise, we ordered a few of their antipasto appetizers, as well as the chicken and beef empanadas. All of these were delicious, even the bacon wrapped dates in the antipasto. A friend of mine and I who are red meat addicts ordered the "Parrillada para dos" which was the meat platter for two. When it arrived at our table, it was essentially a mountain of three different types of steaks. All the meat was cooked to perfection and was incredibly tender. However, our eyes we're definitely bigger than our stomachs as we were not able to finish the beef platter. The chatter across the table of the group was that everyone was very happy with their meals. Dessert consisted of the flan, which was one of the creamiest I've had outside of Latin America. This is a fun place with people of all ages enjoying themselves. The hostess seemed genuinely happy to see us and we were escorted to a nice table despite not having a reservation. On the other hand, I will sternly advise against the fish/seafood dishes, as they tasted as something straight from a frozen dinner box. After reviewing some YELP reviews we headed over to Tango. Getting to Tango from where we live in Nassau County took about 35 minutes. The restaurant is located in a sketch neighborhood, homeless people to the left and industrial businesses to the right. Once there, we were greeted by the staff in a friendly manner. There was no wait for a Tuesday and judging from everyone else in there, no dress code. They immediately brought out the bread basket with the chimichurri sauce which was delicious. Next, we had the empanadas, delicious! Last I ordered the filet mignon in cream sauce with the crab cake and the shrimp and my husband ordered the meat for one platter. The Filet Mignon with cream sauce with shrimp and crab cake was excellent. My opinion is that the crab cake is lackluster and tastes too cornmealy. It was weird and lacked seasoning. The shrimp were fresh and were good but honestly the steak is the show stealer. Just order the steak plain. No cream sauce needed because the steak and chimichurri sauce is where the magic happens! The steak for one was a huge portion of various cuts of steak. If you like tougher and fattier cut steaks then this is for you. My husband ate most of it and enjoyed it but I know he wished he had the filet mignon. If you aren't into grizzle, pass on the meat for one and get the filet mignon.
