While visiting Boise Idaho for the first time i had some amazing Cuban food. I had fried plantains for the first time. If you live and/or visit there please go have dinner at Casablanca Cuban Grill.

Food was tasty. Interior was nicely decorated. Plenty of parking. Do yourself a favor and get a dish with lots of garlic. A little problem with the maintenance of the bathroom. Don't think the appearance of this would pass health inspection.

Growing up in Florida I ate Cuban food It's very few and far between to find authentic Cuban. I knew as soon as I walked in the was going to be a good experience the atmosphere has a Latin flare true to the culture. The service was excellent. If you have not had the pleasure of Cuban food just start with a Cuban sandwich it's a basic item. Here it was delicious. I'm in town for a few days but will be back

Everything is still delicious and authentic. Service is still super friendly--even though I only come every couple of years, the server (I should get her name) always remembers me. They are very cautious about COVID and I appreciate that. Love any and every excuse to come to Boise because like mom used to say, "aquí si se come bien."

First time here and first time eating authentic Cuban cuisine. A quaint little place with nice decorations. The food was really good. I ordered the Pan Con Lechon Samminch, and the wife got the Puerco Adada Entree. Great sandwich with a tasty dip and fries. The entree was fork tender and the black beans and rice were great. I've never had yucca, different but good, it was kind of like potato. All in all, an outstanding lunch. The service was spot on. As usual, ate half of it before the pics.

It's exactly what it advertised itself to be. Delicious food in a clean homemade feeling atmosphere. Nothing gourmet, or pretentious just solidly delicious, clean and friendly service. The Cuban (a fav of mine) tucked all the boxes. And the maduros were spot on perfect.

Food is amazing. Tastes homemade and this is better than any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. The flavors our excellent. If you like Mexican food give this a try. You will be so glad you did!!!!! This a a treasure of a find.

Going to be in Boise for lunch tomorrow and was considering this restaurant. Any input is appreciated?

I enjoyed it. It's very authentic to what you can find in Miami. Certainly a pleasant surprise. Not fancy of course, but friendly. I would recommend sweet plaintains over green ones.

On most, or maybe all, Saturdays during the Boise Farmers Market (BFM) season you will find him in the parking lot there. He is also sometimes at a local cigar and wine bar (although I have this information second hand since I never think of food and cigars together). For a while, maybe in 2020 - 2021'ish time frame he sometimes set up in a neighborhood...maybe he still does and I no longer get the info. He is also sometimes set up at events like local brewfests. And if there is music in the mix, you may find Noel sharing his joy in dancing to the beat. My husband and I are big fans of Cuban food and have enjoyed Noel's dishes that we've had as take away from his BFM stand on occasional Saturdays starting in 2021. Typically he'll have a rice dish and Cuban beans (both vegan), maybe plantains, and an animal protein option like ropa vieja (beef) or lechon (pork). His flan and pastelitos (guava marmalade he makes himself filled pastries) are legendary. And his tasty food is made more delicious through his charming personality. I don't doubt that if you're doing dine-in service. We saw a lot of personal attention by family members spent on some of the larger tables. Ambiance was pretty cool, with a lot of Basque cultural pictures and spread over a couple seating areas with inside a larger mini-mall setup. It was a tad loud though. So we went tapas style, ordering 5 dishes and 2 desserts. Mains -Basque meatballs had great flavor within the meatball, but the gravy seemed a bit flat like a powder mix base. -Cod in Salsa Verde was a disappointment. The clams had no significant meat and the sauce was a tad bland. -Really enjoyed the Txistorra In a Blanket. The chorizo had a really nice flavorful punch and wrapped light filo. The coupled sauce had a balanced flavor with spicy kiss. -Really enjoyed the calamari strips. Not chewy with a light breading. Very fresh taste and the sauce was very good. -The Pan con Tomate with Manchego cheese were very nice. The jamon had a great cure and texture with a nice foccacia and cheese base. The tomatoes gave it a nice acidic punch. Dessert -The burnt cheesecake was a crowd pleaser. The cheesecake really let the cream cheese come through without a ton of sugar. -Tarta De Manzana was great. Firm, thinly slice green apples with an amazing crust with great body and featuring caramelized granulated sugar on the bottom. I just wish they would have put more orange marmalade on the base to bump up the aromatics. It really would have made it flavor explode.
