Came in for lunch with a bunch of people and was taken care of very well! The staff are super friendly and brought everything we ordered out very quickly! Cherry blossom roll smacks so hard, and their udon was a hit with the kids. I got mostly nigiri, which had a very generous ratio of fish to rice. Their spot is very chill and laid back, mostly tables and chairs with a couple sets of banquets. I highly recommend this spot if you're in the area!
The food I ordered was tasty, and I enjoyed my meal overall. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion size of the soup. It offers good value for the money. However, the service could definitely be improved, as it wasn't as attentive as I expected. Overall, it's a nice café with affordable prices and good food, but better customer service would make the experience much more enjoyable.
I'm giving it 4 stars because this was my first time at an all you can eat sushi Japanese restaurant and I think I was just mind blown we could get all this food for an affordable, cheap price. The quality and flavors were not always in each dish if I have to be honest BUT it was so cheap and we were so hungry and enjoyed each other's company, we didn't care. All dishes are smaller because of the all you can eat menu. We ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen, Miso Soup, a few sushi rolls, shrimp tempura, gyoza, edamame, and garlic Brussels sprouts. We ate so good.
We came to Umi Sushi to celebrate my brother's graduation and opted for the AYCE sushi and wow, it did not disappoint! Every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. What truly made the night extra special was the amazing service from Evelyn attentive, kind, and always making sure we had everything we needed. On top of that, Sunny, the owner, personally came over to greet us, which made us feel so welcomed and appreciated. We're from LA and have plenty of sushi options at home, but Umi Sushi stands out. I see why they have raving reviews on Yelp they've absolutely earned them! Highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back.
$29 for a lunch "all you can eat" Japanese menu was a great dining delight and a bargain with rolls on the regular menu going for $14-20+ ( who can eat just one roll?..plus soup, etc. Be sure to order initially from every category as everything is made to order. You have 90 minutes to complete your meal and know that no leftovers are allowed to be taken home or there will be an additional charge. Evelyn is a seasoned employee and provided top notch service however there were communication errors as our soup, appetizers, serving ware and tea were not delivered in a timely manner, such that I had to go up to the counter numerous times for items that we didn't receive (thus the three vs four star rating). Kudos to the chefs for everything we tried was very flavorful and delicious! The restaurant has a very relaxing, definitely Japanese feel.
I was very disappointed in this place. After hearing about it through social media and seeing that it had awards, I needed to check it out. Unfortunately during my visit, I had made multiple trips to the restroom and even threw up after before I left. This has never happened at any all you can eat that I've been to. Something was definitely wrong with the quality of food, although I thought it tasted fine.
Our first time here. Love the All You Can Eat option! We came on a Wednesday, and theres no extra $10 charge on the Premium Menu--FREE on Wednesdays! It was 1 pick per person from the Premium for each round but we were able to try a lot! My first time having Sashimi and it was a great experience. My favorite sashimi was the Sea Steak. & the Uni was good! The amount of sushi they served per roll was perfect also. All the Sushi rolls we ordered each round were amazing, I actually happy danced on my very first bite. After that, I forgot to take more photos. The green tea ice cream portion was also just the right amount, leaving no waste! The Strawberry Mochi was also very good. Service was great. Everybody was friendly. Everything was delicious. I'll come back to try the rest of the menu.. lol!
I came here for their all you can eat sushi, which is recently updated at $38/pp regular pricing, $29/pp for weekday lunch, and upcharges of $10 each if you want to upgrade to their premium menu (free for Wednesday dinner) or do all you can drink sake & beer (free for Tuesday dinner). Prices are lower for kids. Umi Sushi's AYCE menu has a large variety of appetizers, staple items, and sushi rolls. They seat AYCE people to the right, and a la carte tables on the left. The place is super clean and quiet, and our server was very attentive. - Appetizers Mostly reheated frozen fried food, the best of which was the legalized unagi, which is fried eel wrapped in fried shiso leaves - it was tasty and meaty. - Salad, Soup & Rice They have nice variety in this section, and my favorite was the salmon skin salad which gave so much lightly fried salmon skin and pieces in a soy dressing. The sunomono was a bit sweet and not fresh, and the tonkotsu ramen was generic. - Nigiri Decent for all you can eat quality, but a small selection; I prefer other AYCE sushi restaurants in Roseville for nigiri. The fish to rice ratio is fair. My favorites were the creamy bay scallop and creamy snow crab because they were fresh and creamy. - Sushi Rolls I was a bit disappointed in the freshness of the Snow White handroll, and there was a lot of rice. However, the sushi rolls were awesome. They give 4 small pieces which is a great size to eat more, and I actually like the ingredients in a few of them - they give enough variety for people who are picky about certain ingredients inside their rolls. The sauces are also not overwhelming, and don't hide the taste of the fish. They don't use too much rice. I had the White Dragon and White Out, both of which had a nice torched flavor addition. You can get free dessert per person at the end, too! I like their green tea ice cream, as it's a medium balance of bitter and sweet. Their promotional pricing on specific days is such a good deal, as well as their lunch pricing for the same menu offerings. I wish I lived here to take advantage of that! Alas, for some reason Roseville has a couple of AYCE sushi places, and I do have another favorite that I think is clearly superior to all others.
This hole in the wall sushi restaurant offers a great value. Really generous portions on the bento boxes we ordered. We all had enough for two meals. Sesame chicken had a crispy, tempura-like coating. CA roll was above average. We liked the gyoza and miso soup too. My husband loved his chicken karage. Great spot!
While getting my car worked on, I needed some lunch. That's when I discovered Umi Sushi! It was about 1:05 p.m. and they were still running their lunch service. As I walked in everyone greeted me and let me sit by the window at a table that was half bench with 2 chairs. They had the TV on ESPN, which I like this time of year! I looked over the menu and noticed they have an All You Can Eat lunch for $37. Or I could've ordered 2 rolls for a similar price, but because I like a variety, so I decided to go with the AYCE sushi! I started with some bbq beef short ribs (it was one, cut up into pieces), spicy edamame, and a salmon skin handroll. I could've ordered a few of those bbq beef short ribs, but I wanted to try as much as I could fit! I guess I'm not a salmon skin kinda girl. I like my salmon raw, lol. This has bits of cooked salmon stuck to the skin, which I'm sure is usual, but but my thing. As my waitress checked up on me, I would order the next item to try. Krispy shrimp roll, lion king roll, salmon poki, chicken karaage(these are like dark meat fried chicken nuggets) , salmon nigiri, and last, the Tonkotsu ramen with chadhu (you can sub tofu). All were very delicious, except the Krispy shrimp roll. I could tell the shrimp was not fried that day. The batter on the fried shrimp felt like it was a day or two old, and the shrimp didn't taste like shrimp. It was like it lost its flavor from being stored a few days. I stayed away from anything with fried or Krispy shrimp at that point. I enjoyed the service! She was fast and was always there if she saw me looking around. They weren't busy, but were steady with orders. The table next to me also had the AYCE sushi and I know they also throughly enjoyed their lunch! I will probably not get anything with shrimp, but I will be back for another round. I'll bring my man and a few friends next time!

Had a great experience at Umi Sushi! The prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service. I wanted to order a kids item as an adult which they said I couldn't do, but they went above and beyond by giving us an extra piece of sushi to make up for it, which was a thoughtful gesture and much appreciated. Great food, great value, and great customer service. We'll definitely be back when in the area! read more

AYCE, high quality fish, for an affordable price? Say less! Shameless to say we've dined here 3 times in the span of 5 weeks and I'm not ashamed about it. I was skeptical at first (usually am for AYCE sushi places) but this place totally changed my view on AYCE. I'm so used to all you can eat places having such low quality fish but Umi was not one of them! We loved everything we got and the service was great. Our waiter was super friendly and accommodating and even though we went a few times with a large party the food came pretty quick and our waiter was still serving with a smile on his face passing by often to ask if we needed anything. read more

Really good value. The sushi was fresh, and for an extra $10 you can add premium nigiri (1 time though). I was really impressed with the regular menu. The ramen was the best ramen from an AYCE. There are also daily specials to look out for. Friendly staff, and food is promptly given. read more
This is a great AYCE restaurant. They have great selections and it's made fresh to order. The quality and quantity per order is the perfect portion. Not overpowering and thru spent more on the quality of food. Will take the family next time. read more

Everything looked so good on the menu. I ordered too much. I settled on the 2 item bento box and a Salmon Skin Hand Roll (the much part). The bento box comes with miso soup. Everything was tasty. Staff was attentive. Interior is large and well-lit. Plenty of free parking and easy access to the freeway. read more

Ordered thought DoorDash and I was happy when I saw my premium sashi omakase, all bellies! Except WHEN the hamachi toro has a piece of bone (hurt my mouth!)...... And that's my first time having a bone on a sashimi piece, not a pleasant experience. The toro was the best piece of the set, the salmon toro was ok and then hamachi toro was the worst not just cuz I got a bone with it but also it was fishy. I mean glad that my mouth didn't bleed. Also ordered a Godzilla with light rice and no cream cheese ... when I received it was a tiny roll ... didn't seem like my normal Godzilla roll filling. Maybe I just had a bad day read more

This place has it all! All you can eat sushi, rolls, bento boxes, ramen. Nice quaint place. Not so big, but big enough. They also have a sushi bar. Service is on the slower side. Food takes awhile to get to the table. We were so hungry already that the food was scarfed down that we weren't able to take too many pictures. The food was great though! Enjoyed the lunch buffet here! They let you try the ramen , appetizers, hand rolls and nigiri - my favorites were the unagi, creamy scallop and Seaweed salad. Since everything is made fresh to order you can expect some down time as you eat, which wasn't an issue as we took our time savoring everything! The service and ambience were fantastic. read more
Definitely one of the better sushi AYCE places. The last one we went to had limits on three rounds. Which was quite stressful on timing of what to order etc. This place has only one restriction which is if you choose the premium you can only order the items in that one box (one serving per person). Other than that you're good to get whatever else you want as many times as you'd like. Service was attentive! And the food is not bad for an AYCE. The only item I didn't care for was the creamy scallops. Only because it was too creamy. Their appetizers were also very good! It's a good sized restaurant and was semi busy on the day we went for lunch. read more

The food tasted really good. Their selection was different than other AYCE places. The downside was for the premium selection which we did pay for, you can only choose it once per person. Otherwise, service was awesome. Price was great and a cute spot. read more
For my first restaurant meal of 2024, I went to check out the AYCE menu at Umi! On Wednesdays they are currently offering a free upgrade to the premium AYCE menu options, so it's $35 at lunchtime instead of $44! Just make sure to check their Instagram page or website to see if the promotion is still going on. We arrived right at opening and there were already people waiting out front! The place was almost full by the time we left at 1pm. Good for them! The place is pretty casual, nothing too fancy. They are kid friendly, with several high chairs available and they brought little kids water cups too! We ordered everything on the premium menu first, to make sure we were fully taking advantage of the promotion. You can only get one of each premium item per person, which doesn't seem like a lot but you can get pretty full off of it because the sashimi platter is 15 pieces, so if there are two people that's already 30 pieces! The sashimi was sliced too thick for my preference so it made the texture a little much for me, and I'm normally a big sashimi fan. I wish I had ordered some nigiri to break it up a bit. But the fish quality was good. The amaebi sweet shrimp was something new I haven't had and it was very tender. All of the toro options were good too. The oysters were tasty and I liked the mignonette they had on it. The sushi bake was good but I didn't really taste any scallop, I could have skipped that one. We ordered some other things off of the regular menu too, and I would say my favorite was the bbq albacore! Everything else was okay and definitely understand why they weren't on the premium menu. The sunomono was not traditional with the vinegar but still tasted refreshing. The options from the cut rolls are 4 pieces so it's doable to try a couple. I picked the Firehouse, not realizing it's deep fried, and the fresh jalapeño really got my mouth on fire! The cut roll menu didn't stand out to me since all the rolls seemed very similar, usually I like to look for one with lemon. Service was good, the place was packed but we still got our orders in a reasonable amount of time and we were never left waiting with nothing on our table. I would recommend checking your receipts though, we noticed they charged us $12 for tamago even though it was included in the AYCE. Hopefully it was a true mistake and not meant to trick customers to paying more! The guy was apologetic though and refunded us before charging the correct amount. Overall I think it's a solid good quality option for AYCE sushi but I have another place that I'd go before this one, just because of more variety and the dessert at the end. But I would still say this falls in the upper tier of AYCE sushi in town and would recommend this one for their fish quality. The premium upgrade on Wednesdays does make it worth coming here so I hope they'll keep that promotion for a long time! read more

The majority voted on this spot for their bento boxes, black garlic tonkotsu ramen, and sushi for our birthday girl's dinner in Roseville. So we headed to Umi (means "Sea" or "Ocean" in Japanese) on Harding Blvd. Got a parking spot right in front of the entrance. We decided to all go for the Regular AYCE Dinner ($39), not the Premium ($48) option. The Premium Menu has items like Amaebi, fresh half shell oyster, sashimi, bluefin toro, bluefin toro temaki, hamachi toro, salmon toro, and sushi bake but I will say the Regular menu is quite extensive already! FYI, lunchtime pricing is $4 less than dinner, and Kids (age 6-9) Regular AYCE lunch is $15 and dinner is $17. The menus are literally huge laminated pages, so big that I propped them up against the window or could double as a placemat! There a ton to choose from but we got the following items: APPETIZERS (refer to regular menu for descriptions/ingredients for these) Chicken Karaage Crispy Geso Legalized Unagi Pepper Fin Gyoza BBQ Albacore Shumai x2 Tonkotsu Ramen Crispy Salmon HAND ROLLS (refer to regular menu for descriptions/ingredients for these) Tempura CUT ROLLS Ninja Shrimp Tempura Pink Lady Splash Lion King Prime David's Rainbow High Roller (minus jalapeno) Dragon NIGIRI Salmon x3 Creamy Snow Crab Tamago Inari DESSERT Green Tea Ice Cream For the regular AYCE price, I was impressed to see the ramen and Korean short ribs, pepperfin, BBQ albacore, hamachi kama, geso, unagi, oysters and mussels all included on the appetizer list. The ramen even came with the seasoned egg, bamboo and chashu. I only tried one handroll and next time I'd probably go for the salmon skin or the zag. Out of the cut rolls, the Pink Lady with the REAL CRAB was super good, as were the torched rolls (Ninja, David's Rainbow, High Roller). Enjoy but be mindful of rolls that contain cream cheese, in terms of things that will tend to fill you up. The spicy tuna in the Splash roll did have a good kick to it. Their non-AYCE menu is substantial: appetizers with more than offered on the AYCE (full size portions), udon, $2 off all sushi and hand rolls, $2 fresh oysters, $4.50 sake bombs, several desserts. Dinner bento boxes (1-3 items), sushi and sashimi plates, ramen (can make it a combo by adding a California roll or gyoza), nigiri, deep fried rolls, maki rolls, hand rolls, non-raw rolls, vegetarian rolls, and Gigantic Rolls (twice as big). Wow! Fine print: last seating 1 hour before closing. 90 minute limit or until closing. Wasted food will be charged per item including rice from sushi. No substitutions or add-ons. Not available to-go. Also, the entire table needs to be ordering AYCE I believe. Sweet service even though we stayed until a little bit past closing time -- multiple rounds of AYCE be that way...the final pieces are a tiny struggle to get through. I discovered this place randomly during my lunch break, and it's been a favorite ever since. I come here pretty often, and every single roll I've tried has been amazing. The sushi is very high quality, super fresh, and consistently delicious. I'm also excited to come back and try the all-you-can-eat option. read more
My husband and I decided to try out Umi Sushi because there was a video hyping it. Of course, it was overhyped. We didn't have high expectations to begin with so we were not disappointed. We did the Premium all you can eat and it was so not worth it. The oysters and the Amaebi were the only good things out of it. There was too much raw fish. We ended up only getting one order of the premium menu so they only charged us for one premium and not two. The sushi bake was the saddest sushi bake I have ever seen. It was just torched or grilled salmon over thawed out imitation crab with sauce drizzled on top. The Blue Fin Toro Temaki was pretty plain. I would skip the premium option next time because the regular all you can eat items are already good enough and probably better. The waiters and waitresses were attentive and came around often. I'll give customer service a four star. Unfortunately, the food is a three star for me. I have had better. read more

We came in on Saturday and were surprised to find that it was not busy. we came in with our 1 year old and were greeted immediately. we came in for the all you can eat menu and I asked what the difference was between lunch and dinner but was told that it was the same exact menu, lunch was a few bucks cheaper. We order the appetizers of tonkatsu ramen, tonkatu chicken, karage, fried geso, albacose tuna, zag handroll, and all the premium items. I think our favorite items were the muchies rolls. the 15 pc sashimi, saba and salmon nigiri and the bluefish toro. There is no revolving belt, you order with the waitress. We ordered a whole bunch of items and got the premium menu items cuz why not try the toro? You could just taste how fresh all the fish were. I appreciated how the items were made to order and the food wasnt just out wating to be picked up. The sodas are canned sodas but if you check in on yelp, you get a free can! Is there a limit on how many items we can order at a time from the AYCE menu?
No, you just better be able to eat all you order
Is there mushroom or mushroom base in the ramen broth? I've never had ramen becaue most places in Sacramento have mushroom in the ramen broth and I'm allergic to mushrooms, but would love to actually try ramen for once.

Can you order ramen for takeout?
Of cause, we pack ramen separately with the soup and ramen, so the ramen will keep it bouncy. Thanks for ur interest!
Dose you guys have fresh wasabi (kizami wasabi)?
Yes we do, we have kizame wasabi everyday.
Are the ramen noodles made on site?
We brought our ramen noodles from a company, they distributed the ramen from Japan.
Anyone know if they have volcano sauce or some sort of specialty hot sauce for ramen at this location?
Yes we do have a special home made spicy sauce just for the ramen.
My daughter is severely allergic to dairy, eggs, beef, pork and nuts -- I know you have vegetable broth, but how about your ramen? Is it made from rice? Or with eggs?
Our ramen is made from egg, but we can use udon noodle instead, which is made from wheat flour.
Is there any vegetarian/vegan options for rolls? Vegan Spicy mayo stuff like that?
Yes they have vegetarian/vegan options. You can make special requests and they will do their best to accommodate. The salad I ordered was not on the menu and it came out great.
Are any of your Ramen broths vegetarian? (No fish, pork, beef, chicken?)
Our Miso Ramen is vegetarian broth, we have tofu to substitute with meat, and big selection of vegetables to add on.…
