Buyer beware! Diamond Wireless (DW) does not honor their service contract. After I terminated my…read moreservice, they sent a law firm/collectors after me seeking $200 for early termination. These people have been harassing me by phone/mail and threatened to harm my outstanding credit. I pointed out that their own service agreement states: "Customer understands and agrees that devices purchased from DW in conjunction with a Verizon Wireless service agreement may receive discounted retail pricing. If a discount is available, receiving the discount is contingent on the Customer maintaining uninterrupted mobile service with Verizon Wireless for at least 185 days. Customers who have received a discount and then have an interruption or termination of their service agreement with Verizon Wireless before 185 days agree to the following terms:" "Customer further agrees to pay DW an early cancellation fee of $200 per service line, and further agrees to return all such financed/leased in new and working condition as directed in the financing/lease documentation." My invoice proves that I paid full price (the discount columns in the invoice are blank). Since the early termination fee clause of the agreement hinges on the buyer receiving a discount, the early termination fee does not apply to me. I pointed this fact to both DW and their lawyer/collector, and they didnt care; they didnt even argue the facts with me, they kept insisting that if I didnt pay they would harm my credit. DW is acting in bad faith and are violating their own service agreement. Unless they correct their books to show I owe them nothing and remove negative information from my credit report, I plan to share my bad experience with their landlord (BJs Wholesale Club), Better Bussines Bureau and the Maryland Attorney General to expose this fraudulent activity. Also, since they mailed their lawyer/collectors an edited/fake copy of the service agreement/invoice, and their lawyer/collectors then mailed this fraudulent document to me so they could bully me, I plan to share this fraudulent documentation with the US Postal Service Inspector to see if this qualifies as mail fraud. I have the original service agreement/invoice that they sent me with a cover letter in their letterhead, and it is very different to their fake copy. I would think twice about purchasing anything from them if they are not going to honor their own contract. Plus I have to ask, what kind of company abuses the credit reporting system to bully their customers into paying? Not a company I want to do business with anymore!

Crazy sales tactics will cause a good company to lose good business. I recently visited the Verizon…read moreStore in Waldorf MD to upgrade my wife's phone. I understand that this transaction can be handled quite smoothly online, but I also know that if everyone turns to the online options for day to day purchases, the fewer the job opportunities for local businesses and job seekers. This location is very clean and organized. Location and operating hours are convenient, options and inventory seems plentiful. My only issue with the store itself was that they no longer provide restroom access to their customers. Given that our transaction time exceeded an hour, this is a real issue. In-lieu of allowing me access to their restroom, the salesperson suggest that I use the facilities at the next door restaurant. This is both inconvenient and a lack of regard for their customer base. Our sales professional was a new employee, on the job for about 2 weeks per his account. Once we sat down with our salesperson (sp), we stated our intentions what were to upgrade my wife's phone. We told the SP exactly the phone we wanted, type, color specs, etc. He gathered the information and went to the back to retrieve the phone...we assumed. He later came back empty handed and asking do we own a business. We discussed the business related discounts, but I chose to keep the service plan as is. The SP then retreated to the back again at which point I stepped away to go to the store next door for their restroom. When I returned, I noticed that the SP finally has the new phone. However, I noticed that the cases that he was trying to sell us were for a different model, the more advanced model. I ask to see the phone only to find that he conveniently ignored our requested selection and brought out a more expensive model. When I reiterated our choice, he seemed oblivious to our initial conversation. Given all of this back and forth, we were now there for about an hour and 20 mins and we still had not started any of the phone transferring process. When he retreated to the back again my wife informed me that she told him that the phone wasn't the correct version, but he ignored her and continued to process the transaction until I returned and made it clear that he brought out the wrong phone. This back and forth with discussions with his manager occurred a few more times. So to get the phone that we wanted, he stated that the phone was in a timed safe and it will take another 10 minutes before he would be able to retrieve the phone. This process was far too long to upgrade a phone. Now this process is akin to purchasing a car. Listen, admittedly this review seems all over the place and that is because the service was all over the place. Finally, he came back with the phone of our choice (however the original color choice was not available). Now begins the weird pricing information. When I asked him to give me the newly adjusted monthly bill he was all over the place. Begin talking about plan changes, etc. My God this was so damn frustrating when all we wanted to do is simply upgrade a phone, NO OTHER CHANGES!!! I've been a Verizon customer for about 20 years, several upgrades, etc. Never have I had service with so many issues. This SP even gave unflattering information about some other products that they sell. Finally we are ready to do the phone conversion but the math that he spoke of was simply not mathing!!! I proceeded to complete to upgrade online to check the math and when I showed his the accurate new billing cost, he ask if he can take my phone back to his manger, of who we never met, in the back to show her. Of course we declined that request so he went to speak with the manager yet again. The manager (Shay is her name) never came out to speak with us or check on why this was taking so long, or simply provide assistance to her new associate. As a result, we left and finished our phone upgrade on line. To Verizon Waldorf management, do better, be better. To the SP, before you attempt to sell anything else to a customer, handle the reason they came to the store in the first place, first! No phone transaction should take hours. And please do not try to trick a customer into a different phone. That's horrible integrity on your behalf.

I asked if I had to pay for a cell phone or would it be at no cost. I was told at no cost. I asked this question several times bc it seemed at the time that the verizon representatives helping me were having trouble getting me connected. I was told each time that my cell phone was free of charge, I would only pay the service. The reason I asked if there was a charge on the phone, is bc I would like to have control of what I pay, rather I get a Walmart phone and come back return to get the verizon service or get their least expensive phone something in the range of $75 and lower. So, today I was telling a family about my service. I went to MyVerizon to give them information to sign up and SURPRISE! I see something that said 8% paid off. I said, HUH! What is this? Then my heart dropped as I knew right away that I'd been deceived yet again. I am paying for a phone and am stuck. I will pay it off, but will doing as some other people are doing. Paying for the very inexpensive phone and services. It is way better than being deceived. CONGRATULATIONS VERIZON YOU GOT A SALE FROM DECEPTION. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOUR BUSINESS

The employee assisting her (Brian) was dismissive and unprofessional. He told her that the account didn't exist and that the phone number she provided was invalid--without making a reasonable effort to actually look into the issue. She left upset and without help. When she contacted me, I was able to locate the account immediately using the same information, which makes it clear the problem was not the account--it was the lack of effort and professionalism. What made the situation worse is that Brian later contacted me directly about this review, and even after I told him not to contact me again, he continued to call and text. That crosses a line and is completely inappropriate. Customer service should be respectful, thorough, and professional--especially when dealing with elderly customers. This experience fell far short of that standard. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses it.

I have never had a worse experience with a Verizon store. Jose has no shame about coming off as a shady conman. He immediately became impatient with me and started treating me as someone he was just trying to extract money from as soon as he couldn't sell me on the most expensive new iPhone. I just wanted the mini. He wasn't forthright about what the total cost would be and all the accessories needed. At other Verizon stores they threw in the screen protector for free or discounted accessories. But not here. As soon as they can't sell you on what they want, they will be nasty to you. The manager stopped by because I pushed back and called Jose out on not telling me about added costs and fees, but the manager was the exact same type of shady, shameless conman. "The more you spend the more discount I can give you" is an example of a line said as he tried to throw in more accessories. I heard the manager doing a transaction using the same line Jose gave to me - how they were giving the customer a thousand dollar phone for a steep discount - like they're doing people such a huge favor. The whole sales process is so tacky and gritty and they think they're so smart but they just pull things tactlessly out of Robert Cialdini's playbook. This sort of desperate and cheesy sales process isn't necessary for a huge company like Verizon and this location run by talentless, arrogant bozos seriously diminishes the brand.
