Got it twice and both times I regretted it as it was extremely chewy & fatty and for $28 with no extras sides or salads (except for the pasta that came with the veal) it's way overpriced. I Got the veal Marsala one time and the veal parm the next time. They also charge you an extra fee for using a credit card and then ask you (not mandatory) to pay cash for the tip which I feel is a bit tacky. Just my opinion. read more

Let me start by saying food was incredible as usual. This negative review is about the service. We order takeout regularly from here and will continue to do so BUT we will never dine in again. This was the first time we dined in and our waitress was HORRIBLE!! We arrived and had our 3 year old son with us. We waited over an hour for our entrees and had to have them packed up to go since the kid lost his ability to sit still. The waitress was not attentive and my wife had to flag down another waitress for help while I took my son to the car. This waitress lacked the ability to read the room, move quickly, and communicate. I watched the other female server and male server crushing it but this waitress either needs a lot of training or needs a different job. If I was leaving the tip it would have reflected the horrible service. read more

So my wife made reservations there somehow it was erased by accident. When we went inside to find that out they said we will get a table ready and they did. We have taken food out from there. Our experience started not so great. Order was not correct, but once they realized it after a back and forth phone conversation and I declined a credit for our next order they agreed to remake the large white pizza, which had been sent as a regular pie. Once we did receive the white pizza with ricotta and spinach it was awesome!! Very tasty and good fresh stuff!! Loved that!! Wasn't too happy with the personal pizza with peppers and mushrooms. They seems a bit like they cane from a can since there was so much moisture on the pizza. It was ok taste wise though. We always enjoy our meals here and now takeout is no exception. We were missing the Mussels Marinara and added it to our dinner order tonite and they did not disappoint! I was a little afraid how they would be as a takeout item, but they were delicous. The gravy had a touch of spice to compliment the mussels and of course bread on the side for dipping. I HATE this place. Hate is such a strong word isn't it? Well, I HATE! this place! My family and I dine here once a year, to celebrate SIL and brothers birthday because they enjoy it. It would be much more cruel if I had to pay for the meal, and thank god it's a BYOB. I can't make it past the "homemade bread" which is a fancy name for torched cardboard. At this part of the meal I typically down a bottle of wine so maybe I can't taste the food but unfortunately it isn't that easy. We recently dined here and was very disappointed with our meal. Service was ok. We had ordered 2 chicken dishes and we asked for the chicken to be thin and it came out thick. They didn't even try to prepare it thin. The server said it wasn't possible for them to do it after it was already prepared and she served it to us. We were very annoyed. They should accommodate your requests. One dish we asked for no lemon as it is normally prepared. But we requested NO lemon and they still made it with lemon and didn't even offer to remake it. Ordered dinner tonight through Grubhub. When it arrived an entire entree (out of two entrees) was missing. Called the restaurant and they said it would take 35 minutes to make and re-deliver. I am confident to say that this is my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Every single dish I had here came out so tasty. The complimentary bread and roasted peppers are a plus as well. Two of my favorite pasta dishes here are the "cavatelli gaeatano", which has broccoli rabe and sausage in a garlic and olive oil sauce, and the "linguine frutti di mare", which has seafood in a white wine garlic sauce. Both dishes are pretty light, since I'm not a fan of heavy cream sauces. However, I had their vodka sauce here and it is pretty good as well. My mom and I decided to try this place because we were looking for a new Italian restaurant to go to. This place also had a deal going for buy one entree get one at half price - on the day that we wanted to go out. When we first arrived the hostess was on the phone so the counter girl helped us she asked us if we had a reservation. It was as Tuesday I wasn't expecting needing a reservation but I found out why they asked as the dining room is very small. Cute but small. Their menu isn't very large but they had a good selection. The prices were a little bit more expensive than usual places in the area especially since it's not served with a salad. We did get yummy bread with a plate of peppers and onions. My mom ordered chicken parm which she really liked and I ordered chicken asparagus which was chicken, shrimp, asparagus, scallions in a cream sauce. It was very tasty - not what I was expecting but you could tell it was all made from scratch and that it was very good quality. It came with a side of penne which was okay. Overall I definitely want to come back and maybe try an actual pasta dish as that's what everyone around us had and it looked very good. Everyone working here was super nice as well - our waitress, the person who took our drinks and even the bus boys. Definitely want to go back and try again. read more

Interior is fresh and clean, the have a dining room area the looked nice as well. I picked up a Italian hoagie with fries to go so I don't have too much to add on service. The person taking the orders was nice. The Italian hoagie was well made but seemed a little more salty than others I have had. The side of fries was crisp, hot and salted normally. During these scary & uncertain times this little gem of an Italian restaurant, already a family favorite brought joy & yummyness to our sil birthday dinner. Practicing social distancing we couldn't go out but we wanted to celebrate so we ordered in! We got the family size vodka rigatoni, mussels appetizer & kids pizza for the lil's. Our first time dining at Taormina's was mixed. The complimentary onions and peppers which comes with the bread was different and flavorful. My wife loved her filet salad, which I agree was delicious. I found the red sauce on my chicken parm, however, way too sweet. I am not a fan of sweet sauce so this turned me off. We will try again, but I will make a different entrée selection. Whenever I am in the Philly area, I don't seek out those cheesesteak sandwiches....gimme a decent Chicago Italian Beef any day. When I am out here, I seek out the sloppy loaded NY style pizzas, in particular the Grandma's pie. We ordered food delivered and I tell you what, I loved their version of grandma's pie. When we arrived, we gave the hostess our name and she rudely acknowledges us. 10 minutes later she comes up to us and asks us if we were a take out order. Immediately I sarcastically say no. It was amazing! I ordered the salmon special ( salmon with crab, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and spinach). It was absolutely fabulous!! I asked for them to reduce the amount of butter in the dish. Taormina was a pleasant surprise of deliciousness for take out this past weekend. We did a sampling of pastas: cheese ravioli and fettuccine Alfredo. Both were good (though more pepper on the fettuccine would have been welcome). The tomato sauce with the ravioli was simple but delicious. We also had the portabello mushroom and fresh mozzarella salad, which was tasty. Lots of tang with the bruschetta topping, but substantial and well done. For mains we ordered an eggplant parmesan platter, which a side of penne. The eggplant was lichtlu breaded and thin sliced and not too cheesy or oily. It was really good. We also tried the Brooklyn pie, which was a thin crust grandma style pizza. One of the better pies I've had in this part of PA. read more

We got delivery to our hotel room. The food was delivered on time by the nicest guy who offered to help me carry everything to the pool area where the rest of my family was waiting. Let me start with the obvious: the decor of this place is not that of your typical pizza joint. It looks more like an upscale tastefully-decorated restaurant where you would expect to spend a lot of money for a fancy dinner. The ceiling is done with old-fashioned tin tiles (in copper color, reproduction, of course, but still looks great), the light fixtures are large and beautiful, and the perimeter accent lighting is just right to highlight custom roman shades, the botanical artwork and Italian landscapes. Even the chairs are nicely upholstered with cool modern backs, and they felt solid. Both the dining room and the kitchen were very clean, not a speck of dust anywhere. So we sat down and I prayed that the food is good, cause I was obviously impressed with the decor. They start you off with roasted red peppers (yummy), and warm bread. The bowl of seafood bisque arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The lasagna was home-made and excellent. The broccoli rabe, although claimed to have been sauteed, tasted more steamed to me, but still was not bad at all. I would order it again. The chicken florentine panini, although fresh, was missing something, and the bread was never near the actual panini maker, although it was toasted. I wondered if they mixed up my panini order with a hot sandwich? The french fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and perhaps the best fries I have ever tasted! The service was super friendly, and the owner came over and chatted, while her whole family were having dinner a few tables away. The prices are very reasonable, the ambiance is great, and it's a BYO. I was so happy to find a place just a few minutes away that serves inexpensive but top quality fare in a beautiful atmosphere.
