I spent the next four hours collecting them and put them in a Ziplock bag to give to Antonia at the front desk. I have been up since 2:00am, and found it odd that she does not know how to contact the General Manager, Kim Craig. The property is very nice otherwise, but it is not acceptable to be expected to pay $262.59 for a bug-infested room. Fortunately, the management agreed and refunded the entire amount.

My boyfriend, our dog, and I ended up booking this B&B last minute after leaving another accommodation early because it had bugs (including a camel spider in our bed ). We found this place online at resnexus.com as well Yelp and stalked their website, loved the photos, read the reviews, and immediately felt relieved when we arrived. The Piñon Casita was adorable, the property itself is beautiful, breakfast was delicious, and the hosts seemed friendly. For the first hour or so I was thinking, Thank goodness, we finally found the place. Unfortunately, things slowly started going downhill from there. The first night, the fireplace wouldn't work. We messaged the hosts, sent photos, tried troubleshooting it ourselves, and eventually just gave up and accepted we'd be having a fireplace-free evening. It wasn't the end of the world, and we figured hey, stuff happens. The next day they came and fixed it, which we appreciated. Then came the washer. One of the reasons we were excited about this casita was because it included a washer and dryer. Earlier in the week we'd already spent time at a laundromat, so we were looking forward to doing laundry before our 8-hour drive home. We started a load and got a 4E error less than halfway through the wash. We looked it up ourselves, we tried troubleshooting, we messaged the hosts, we followed their suggestions, and we tried different cycles. At this point I felt less like a guest and more like the on-call appliance technician. They eventually told us the washer had been fixed while we were out hiking, so we were excited to finally do laundry. Spoiler alert it wasn't fixed. Same error. We tried again later that evening. Same issue. Then around 11 PM the washer completely shut off and locked our wet laundry inside. We messaged the hosts again because we were supposed to leave the next morning after breakfast and start an 8-hour drive home. The response that frustrated us most wasn't even the broken washer, it was being told that because we hadn't specifically mentioned on the phone that we intended to use the washer and dryer, (And she said that they don't accept same day bookings, but made an exception for us, though that was never communicated nor was this a policy written anywhere on their website) compensation wouldn't be considered. Respectfully, if an amenity is advertised, guests shouldn't have to announce ahead of time that they plan on using it. That's like asking if the shower works before booking because you intend to shower. We weren't asking for a huge refund. We weren't asking for hundreds of dollars back. Even a small gesture of goodwill $50 to $100 off the stay would have gone a long way and would have shown that they understood the inconvenience. Instead, we paid full price despite having a fireplace that didn't work the first night and a washer/dryer that never functioned properly during our stay. To add to that, there were also multiple spiders and bugs inside the casita. I understand this is the countryside and bugs exist. Trust me, I get it. But after literally leaving our previous accommodation because of bugs, it wasn't exactly what we hoped to deal with again. The next morning our laundry was still trapped in the washer. Eventually my boyfriend ended up figuring out the breaker issue himself after staff told us where the breaker panel was located. We rushed to get our laundry spun and dried before checkout, but they still weren't completely dry. So instead of leaving relaxed after a nice getaway, we ended up starting our 8-hour drive home later than planned with damp laundry shoved into a trash bag. The frustrating part is that this review could have been completely different. The property is beautiful, the breakfast was genuinely fantastic, the casita itself is cute and cozy. And honestly, if the hosts had simply acknowledged the inconvenience and offered even a small amount of compensation, I probably would've happily overlooked most of this. Instead, we left feeling like the burden of fixing the problems fell on us while still paying full price for amenities we couldn't properly use. It's a lovely property, but unfortunately the way these issues were handled means we won't be returning.

The rustic charm is everywhere from the Spanish tile bathroom to the spacious bedroom. There are chair on the front porch to sit and enjoy the court yard. Our room had an open but private back porch with more chairs. We enjoyed some coffee here before heading to breakfast, Breakfast was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. Nga was amazing. Wished we were able to stay longer. I would give this place 7 stars ( 2 bonus stars)

The rooms were beautiful and clean, really cute fireplace in the room and the balcony opens to the yard which we could see snow out of! The overall grounds are gorgeous and well kept, staff at the front desk were also very friendly and helpful giving us directions and popular spots to see around Taos. They had hot coffee, tea, and bottled water for us to take at any time. It was my partner's birthday, someone came up and hand delivered chocolate strawberries free of charge to the room as well as a card and we dined at the restaurant for dinner and they gave us free dessert and little free macaroons in a to go bag. Talk about above and beyond service. Lovely time 10/10, only complaint was the food in the restaurant was 7-8/10 taste for $$$ prices but all in all great experience.

The front Staff is great as always but for the price our room wasn't not worth it this year. Dinner- we ordered 3 items. The beet tartare was very good. The Brussels Sprouts were swimming in balsamic glaze and couldn't eat it. The ratatouille tasted good but was warm on the outside and cold inside. I think our waiter was new as he asked us how we wanted the beet tartare cooked and never asked why we didn't eat 2 of our meals.

The rooms are unique, individual and perfectly appointed. Isaiah works his magic in the kitchen and it shows in the food. Each day i wake up excited to see what he has made for breakfast. There were multiple maintenance and functionality issues. The ductless mini-split system was not working properly, and the wall-mounted thermostat did not control the heat or A/C. The ceiling vent appeared obstructed and poorly maintained, raising concerns about airflow and ventilation. I also noted that the smoke detector showed no visible indicator light at the time, making it unclear whether it was operational, which raised a safety concern. The room itself felt dated and not well maintained. There was a visible spiderweb and debris buildup on the window sill, and the window area overall showed a lack of cleaning and upkeep. Additionally, the wooden window blinds were damaged--specifically, the upper right blind is missing the center wooden control rod, so each slat had to be adjusted by hand. The blinds also catch on the window frame/sill, preventing smooth operation and full closure. Because the room was on the ground level with people walking by, this resulted in a lack of privacy that would reasonably be expected. The bathroom also showed wear, with deteriorating caulking and grout around the tub/shower. Basic amenities were lacking--there was no clock, mini fridge, or microwave, which made the stay less convenient than expected. Additionally, there was a mouse trap placed under the bed. While I understand pest control is sometimes necessary, its visible presence in the guest room raises concerns about cleanliness and overall room readiness. Most importantly, the condition of the room and lack of amenities did not align with the price paid. For the rate charged, I expected a higher standard of maintenance, cleanliness, and functionality. The experience felt significantly overpriced relative to what was provided. The property has charm and a strong location, but without better upkeep and attention to detail, it does not currently deliver value for the cost.

For those who live in the Denver area it's only 4+ hours drive. I got to talk to the owner (the husband of the married couple) just this morning when I was having an Avocado Toast in the dining room. He worked in the corporate America for 25+ years. When he got tired of it he and his wife bought this hotel. It had been abandoned by the previous owner for some time so after he had purchased it he renovated the entire premises to turn it into what is now today. He and his wife certainly have great tastes in everything as the charm they created is simply bonita. Depending on the room you choose, it's equipped with a beautiful copper bath tub that can easily hold two people. The water that comes out of the faucet is pure, twice filtered deep aquifer well water. And the healing power of cooper will ease all sorts of aches and pains. The exquisiteness of soaking in such a tub is of an experience you can't enjoy at home. If you end up staying here, eating breakfast in the designated dining room is a must. They grow their own vegetables in their garden which is served in most of the dishes listed on the menu. At night, enjoy stargazing in the parking lot or the outdoor fireplace just right outside of the dining room. The number of stars you can gaze upon makes your stay more memorable and mesmerizing. Giving this place 5 stars is a humiliation; it deserves at least 10 or more stars. This place is that great. I can't wait to come back here. I might do that maybe next weekend (lol!!)

Funny, down to earth and make every single interaction memorable. That's rare! Last time I stayed in Jazzy, comfy and clean and the bed was nice. This time I noticed the towels could use a refresh, the linens, pillows and mattresses are getting pretty dated as well. We had a very cozy stay, with a fire and ample heat in our trialed for the 37 degree night we had. Always love the coffee and chill vibes of this place. Cannot wait to come back!

A friend of ours also staying here had to use our shower as their shower's water was off. The window coverings on the narrow entry door do not fully cover. I particularly liked the decor in the lobby, lounge, and restaurant. We had a meal and cocktails in the lounge the first night. The tacos were very tasty and they were generous with the guacamole. Always a plus! I think the ''house margarita'' (not on the menu) was actually better than the Cadillac and it was priced quite a bit lower. We also had good breakfasts of Chilaquiles Rojos and Tres Leches French Toast on checkout day. The staff members everywhere in the hotel were very nice. I liked our stay well enough to know we'll return on another trip to Taos. And we liked the food well enough to eat there again even if we're not overnight guests.
