First time here tonight after driving by so many times and meaning to try it. Glad I did! Big and spacious inside with plenty of seating and also an outdoor deck, and a huge bar area. I'm a beer guy, and was impressed by their selection of beer from the NW, which included one of my faves! 12 rotating taps. Also tried the ahi tuna tacos and the Thai lettuce wraps, both fresh and really enjoyable. Great service, food and beer came out quick, and owner Kendra is fun and friendly. Definitely recommended! Love them!! I mean who doesn't love beer, cider, and yummy grub? The owners are so awesome! I've been there many times and it's always consistent, even when they are busy. Very creative and artistic food options that change with the season. I absolutely loved there outdoor patio with all the veggies growing this last summer, it made 2020 very manageable to live so close to a get away like tap and barrel. They have great to-go dinner options and a dinner club as well if you are looking to not cook. I promise you'll love it! read more

This a long overdue post! Kendra is absolutely fabulous - I'm so thrilled she opened up such a unique & inviting spot that Tri-Cities can benefit from. I had the best glass of wine that was a Pino-Chardonnay blend from Italy. I'm going to buy a bottle STAT! My boyfriend & I shared the pork nachos which was definitely the best we've had (literally devoured it in 5 min!) DO NOT GO HERE. THEY DO NOT HAVE UP-FRONT PRICING!!!!! At the end of the evening, we discovered they charge a $10 corkage fee for any bottles of wine you purchase and drink there. In the rest of the world a you might get charged a corkage fee if you take the bottle out of the restaurant. These people redefined the term corkage fee to screw you over. They argue that their prices for wine are so low, they have to make up for it with a few. This is not true, their prices are the same as everyone else. Go anywhere else.... Tap and Barrel created up new way to take your money with no added benefit to the customer. (Kinda like your cell phone bill) Do not support them. Support the competition. Support fair pricing. Honesty, I have given this place 3 tries to like. It is a smaller location so the 1st try it was over packed and we waited 45 min for our food. 2nd try the lady poured me a Chardonnay when I ordered a red blend and didn't even apologize for the misunderstanding and 3rd the two girls working were too busy gossiping about a girl they weren't aware that I knew... to take mine and my sisters order. Tap and Barrel is a fabulously underrated place to grab a drink and a delectable bite to eat. They have the super cool, pour your own wine dispencing system with a push of a button, a great variety of brews, and a menu that is portioned for taste, not size. Atmosphere is Seattle-like with stylish open seating, bar seats, and a small group (12 people) table for small groups with variety of soothing background music to relax to. Went here Friday day and have to say this place is darling! I'm not from the area but this place made me feel Like I was home. Not even open a week they were busy! My friend and myself found a perfect spot on the bar! Talk about best spot to people watch. They had tons of wine on tap but not yet available for us to try:-( which was sad as I've always wanted to try this type of place! Self pour! Yes please!! The wine I did have was a Cabernet and was scrumptious!!!! They had a bunch of food options which looked really good but did not have a try. I would say 5 stars for ambiance and 4 for service. My one issue which I guess I was not the only one, was the burning sensation I had in my eyes! Idk what it was because they said all the food prep gets done in the am. I confronted the manager and he was very dis-interested about the issue we brought up. He never said sorry and honestly had no good reason. The feeling that I felt was he could care less what we said. How about smiling a bit. Anywho, the waitress we had was great! But maybe just try and be more concerned with issues that our brought instead of shoving it off like no big deal!! Great place to have around here but maybe not trying to have a speedy open. The service: excellent service, very friendly server who seemed knowledgeable. She was attentive, but not overly intrusive. The food: choose four different bruschetta, and none of them disappointed. Goat cheese mousse, with crustini , olives and sun-dried tomato was delicious. I would definitely get that again. The wine: The wine-by-the ounce options seemed very expensive. While I appreciate the variety and unique wine selection, we ended up buying a bottle because it seemed like a much better value. However, I was unaware of the corking fee, so in the end, maybe getting a glass of the house wine would've been better. I would go again! We live in the neighborhood near Tap & Barrel and stop in often. During this devastating time for small businesses, especially bars & restaurants we have tried to order out from local establishments as often as we can. Last night was our second time from Tap & Barrel and we had the stuffed shells for two and salads. The house marinara sauce was wonderful as was the bottle of local wine delivered to our front door. Really hope these fine folks will be able to weather this storm, so everyone can get back to enjoying a glass of wine or craft beer on the deck. read more

Fantastic new spot here in Richland! We stopped in here during their soft opening this week, and had a great time. I think what best sums up this new spot is the term "urban casual". They've done a great job of bringing in urban food quality and selection (the wine availability and method is a grape lovers dream) and marrying it with a casual, seat yourself energetic atmosphere that will appeal to twenty-somethings. It seems like the owners have really done their homework on what does and doesn't work with local winery/restaurants in our area and stepped up the game to make this a great meeting place, date spot, or hangout with class. I live close by so it easy to swing by for a beer or glass of wine and a snack. It has a great atmosphere and the staff is always great. Sometimes they are under staffed and it could take a while to get served but with the new self serve beer station there is no need to wait for a refill. Price is a little high for the amount of food you get. It is good though. Had the pork tacos, nachos, and some of the flat bread pizza all are great but im still hungry when im done and at $15 each i don't think i should still be hungry. OK tri-citians get out and check this place out. Great atmosphere and vibe. Great beer and wine selection and a great, varied tapas style menu. Our bartender was one of the owners and we asked for food suggestions. We tried the BLT style flat bread that has bacon, house made tomato jam and arugula. Very, very delicious. We also tried the hot goat cheese dip that comes with delicious house pickled grapes and crostini. Also very delicious. There are several other things on the menu we look forward to trying on future visits. It's obvious a lot of thought went into the design and furnishings. They have created the type of place we feel the area is lacking. While we were there the clientele was a mixture of all ages, and everyone seemed to enjoy being there. Everyone says kids are allowed but then you get there and they don't let you in with a 4 year old

We were treated rudely. My husband and I ordered two different types of beer and were each brought the same beer. When we pointed it out to the waiter he told us we were incorrect. We knew they were not (an IPA and Brown ale) but didn't feel like arguing since we were trying to have a relaxing evening. Half way through our beer the waiter comes back, says "my bad" takes my husbands beer and brings him a brown ale. No apology. No tip and never coming back. read more

Sorry, I don't run in this pack, our two meals were dry and very dull. The beer was way overpriced at $6 per 12 oz glass and the wine price was out of sight expensive. The beer was good and the wine was excellent but posting near $100 for a lousy meal and some drinks does not work for me unless it is worth it. Not worth it. Go to Iceland if you want $6 12-ounce beers and meals that lack imagination. The score of two is for good service and pleasant surroundings. read more

Went here right when they opened and it was a really weird experience. It was really loud so I couldn't have any conversation with anyone because we couldn't hear each other and then it was also pretty hot so we had to open the side door in the dead of winter. I'm from Seattle and I'm used to waiting to order but it was impossible to flag someone down to serve us and when we did it was a boisterous guy DRINKING while working (illegal?). I've never been in an establishment where the staff actively working were drinking as well--I found it completely unacceptable. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was the fact the open tabs were spread out on the counter so a non-employee could've easily reached over the counter and picked up a handful of customer credit cards. Won't go back, wish them the best of luck but it just isn't an experience I'm interested in repeating. read more

Very bummed out. Went there on a Friday night with friends. We were sitting at our table for about 5 minutes before anyone came over to us. We finished our first round of drinks but our waitress never came back. We decided to leave because we were not being served, and had been waiting for about 20 minutes with no service, so we went to ask for our checks. The guy brings one check to us (we were supposed to be on two checks). I said to him, "no we need to split this we aren't on the same check, I don't know what happened to our waitress but we aren't all together". His reply (in a very annoyed / rude tone) "well sorry your waitress got cut so I don't know what's going on, I guess I'm your waiter now". What rude response. First of all, our waitress should have came over to us and let us know she was headed out and that someone else would help us or ask if we needed anything else before she left. Also she should have been entering our orders into the computer as two separate checks, or at least told the guy what was going on with our table so he could help us. My second problem is the fact that this new waiter was rude. It would have been nice if he came over and checked on us, or at least when we asked for "our check(S)" if he would have asked how we wanted it. Not impressed, we left very upset with the service.
