The beer & food was ok. But the service .... initially very welcoming & quickly annoying! The place was half full but the waitress kept "nagging" every 10min, took half full glass of beer and charged for the second one. She was hovering over us all night giving impression we should finish quickly as she needs to collect her tip. Slightly stressful.she even joined the guest table while explaining the menu- way too forward with customers and not very experienced. If you are looking for place to hang out for one beer that's probably the place but if you are trying to enjoy your evening local winery will do a better job! read more

I really want to like Tap & Barrel, but it's left me feeling disappointed both times I have visited. Pros: -Good selection of wines (including wines outside of Washington). -Good happy hour kegged wine and beer pours. -You can buy fairly inexpensive wine at retail price to take home ($14+/bottle). -Fun and contemporary restaurant - love the ambiance of this place! Cons: -Food price is high for the amount/quality of food you receive. (ie. The Butcher's Board is $19 and you get 2 small portions of cheese + 2 portions of meat + some bread and 5 thin slices of apple.) -The wine wall is fun, but very expensive ($5+ for a 3 oz. pour of wine - great if there's a certain wine you really want to try.) -Service is hit or miss. -The noise level is really loud and makes it hard to talk with the people you are with. I think we will come back just to purchase bottles of wine to take back home with us. Great vibe. Manager spotted us as noobs and greeted us right away. Things did get busy but even when they couldn't get to us right away, they made it obvious they were hustling to get right back. Nothing about this adventure was a low priced evening, but high quality service and wine options made the splurge well worth it. The beer menu includes 9 rotating taps of local northwest beer. We did the bruschetta deal (4) and it was a good appetizer. Overall, great modern place in the Tri Cities area! Five stars for ambiance, food entrees, wine selection and pouring options. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Tap & Barrel. The place offers the perfect combination of a relaxing ambiance combined with rotating selection (soon to be self-serve) wine dispenser system with 1 oz, 3 oz, and 5 oz pouring options. There are seven pouring stations with eight different bottles of wine in each unit offering a total of (56) wines to choose from. We tasted six different wines using the 1 oz pour option. After the tasting we selected a 750ml bottle of Maloney 2013 Scooteney Flats Cabernet Sauvignon (Red Mountain AVA) Washington State. It was a perfect accompaniment with our Chicken Bruschetta Flatbread (goat cheese & caramelized onion, topped with tomatoes, red onion, balsamic vinegar & basil), Lettuce Wraps (ground pork, lime, cilantro, mint, red & green onions served on cold romaine lettuce) and Baked Goat Cheese (drizzled with honey & served with pickled grapes & seasoned crostini slices). We met the very personable owners Jason & Kendra. They know what they are doing and they have created an excellent venue. We will definitely be back and are recommending this establishment to our friends. read more

Just stopped in for the first time. I love the atmosphere and the staff is super friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. $30 for 2 glasses of rosè on tap and a plate of tacos. It was all good! Happy hour is from 4-6 and Wednesday is lady's day. I'll be back! read more

I don't understand the great reviews...the ambiance is great! I'll give it that but other then that it was not an enjoyable experience. You seat yourselves so we find a spot on the bar, our waitress didn't really explain the concept well to us, like literally she came to us 3-4 times before we placed our order because she Just wouldn't fully explain the wine thing. Even after we got the wine card, we didn't know we can pour on our own. We waited like 5 or 10 mins and then interacted with some other ppl who were nearby who said they weren't sure either, so we just went for it. Also, the one was wayyy over priced. On average like $12 for a 5 oz (which is maybe like 5 sips). Then we ordered our food, 2 flatbreads. So not good! How do you not make a good flatbread? Idk it was below average. Not worth the $$$. So wait staff was terrible, food was meh, wine was good but there are so many other winery's in the area, and to top it off it was a lot of $$$$. I don't mind spending for a great meal and experience but this wasn't it. Won't be back sadly. read more

I like the place and vibe is good. Music is diverse and service is great, most of the time. The ability to taste dozens of wine is a great concept. They need to figure out how to explain it easier to customers. I watched many customers struggle with the concept. You can try different regions from around the world. They serve beer ( rotating tap)and wine on tap as well but the food is limited. My only concern and suggestion is they need to expand their menu for beer drinkers. I get that for wine the appetizers are relevant. But the value isn't apparent with the food. 14 bucks for eight pieces of bruschetta - way overpriced. I expect to pay for wine and beer but the food needs to be stepped up. It's a casual bar so serve more appropriate food. Tapas style is fine if the price is right. Seemed like the waiters and waitresses were spending more time talking among each other than engaging with clientele. Unfortunately if they stick to this formula they will be out of business within a year. It's a shame it's a great concept with poor execution. This makes this place a once every 3 months spot instead of once or twice a month. Even Seattle has better pricing. read more

I went here a few weeks ago and loved the atmosphere and the whole concept. The only problem was they had to change a keg while I was there to serve me a beer and the kegs were sitting on a cart next to the taps and so the beer I got served was warm! Not good. I had to order something else. I don't like warm beer. They need storage for their kegs. read more
