Madi, James and the other members of the crew at the TAP Plastics Santa Rosa store were wonderfully helpful as well as quick with a modification to a previously fabricated plexiglass box made to house a custom-made Merlin figure. The artist, from the Bay Area, had delivered the figure and protective box to us, but the box was too tall and we didn't want to drive to the Bay Area to have it modified. After a phone query to TAP Plastics in Santa Rosa, they advised us that they could cut it down but couldn't quote a price without seeing the box. Half an hour later we were there with the box and the figure (so we could consult about the proper height for the box); and half an hour later the new plexiglass box was 31" tall instead of 36." It was perfect! It's such a pleasure to deal with expert folks who love what they do and love helping others succeed with projects like this one. They are terrific! read more

TeeJay, James and the rest of the crew at the TAP Plastics location in Santa Rosa are terrific! My wife needed a custom clear plastic cover for the front of a shadow box she had made to display some important heirlooms. The cover she wanted made was rather large, and it needed to be able securely attach to the frame where she had mounted the various family items. No problem, said the TAP Plastics team. When we went to pick up the cover, it had been done exactly to my wife's specifications -- but it turned out that the cover stood out from the mounted heirlooms more than she had envisioned. Again, no problem -- the team cut down the sides of the cover to the newly desired depth, which then turned out to be a perfect fit. TeeJay didn't charge us anything for the additional work to resize the cover, and he even threw in a special cloth and some cleaning solution to make sure the cover could be mounted and maintained in pristine condition. In short, the team did a tremendous job, and they went way above and beyond to complete a modification to our order -- even though it had been done exactly as requested the first time. I couldn't speak more highly of my experience at Santa Rosa's TAP PLASTIC! I bought them some drawer front, glass sheets to replace with plastic. The lady at the counter, though doing desk work, dropped what she was doing and came to my service right away. She listened to what I wanted, measured the items and had them out before I could completely brouse the store and look at all their other neat plastic products and excessaries. The price was extremely resonable and my new sheets of plastics fit perfectly into my drawers. Could not recommend them more highly! read more

I am a professional auto mechanic . I accidentally rolled a car over my $160 LED light . I almost threw the light away. Decided to try tap plastic . I'm glad I did They did not have the exact plastic tube rpacement . So Mara the manager gave me a idea how to make it work . Now the tube is so much better than original . It's a lot thicker. This review will seem odd based on the other reviews and my prior experience with the shop, but I can't let this one go. I asked for a sheet of plastic cut. They ended up cutting it to 24" instead of 22" as was requested. I found this out after I went home and was getting ready to frame a poster, not that big of a deal. I took it back and asked for them to cut the extra 2" off (I did this politely mind you). So while sitting and waiting, the girl at the counter brought it back and I asked to have it remasked so it wouldn't get dirty. Upon hearing this request, the man in the back with white slicked-back hair proceeded to complain about this and I heard him call me an "a**hole". I think they assumed I couldn't hear them through the glass because for the next five minutes while they worked I could hear nothing but complaining about me and how I didn't deserve to have the sheet of plastic fixed and that I had no right to come back and ask for it to be remasked. I then heard a man with black hair and a black beard say: "Just mask it, cut it and f**k him if he doesn't like it he can come back". The whole while I got at least three nasty looks from the man with white slicked-back hair because I assume he didn't think I could hear anything so I wouldn't have taken his glares as negative and simply as looks. I got my plastic back and it was indeed 22" x 28" as I asked so I left and probably won't ever go back. I don't even really mind the extreme unprofessionalism. What really got under my skin is the absolute malice and hatred towards me for coming back and asking for it to be recut and remasked. They obviously didn't quality check it before I left the shop and I, like a dolt, just assumed they did the cut properly. I guess I should have checked it so this wouldn't have happened. I don't understand why so much hate was directed towards me for asking for it to be recut. I can understand if I went in and was a total jerk to them, but I went in totally calm and polite and did nothing more than say, "this was cut to 24" not 22" like it was supposed to be, can you please fix it." Guys at Tap (especially you black hair/beard and white slick-backed hair): life is too short to be filled with that much anger and hatred towards your fellow man. I didn't do anything to you except buy a product you produced. Oh well, I guess my frame job will still look really good so I'm over it. read more

I went to the Santa RosaTap plastics, as I usually do for my plexiglass needs. I have never had a problem and the service is always pleasant, efficient and professional. Today, however, I got home to find a crack in the corner of one of the plastic pieces. Either the plex cutter didn't notice, which is disturbing, cause that is their job, or they thought I wouldn't notice, which is equally, disturbing and completely annoying. I would suggest to anyone who purchases their services to inspect their work before heading out of the door..and if I ever do go back, I will take my own advice. read more

I can't say enough good things about TAP plastics! Good prices, good quality, good service. We've used them for our photobooth business twice now, and have been very happy both times. We mentioned that it was important our pieces were cut very precisely for their purpose, and when I got our receipt, I noticed the manager had written a special note for the cutters to do so. I really appreciated that. They also labeled all the pieces for us this time, which wasn't necessary, but totally helpful. I don't anticipate having the build another booth, but if we do or ever need replacement panels, I'll definitely come back to TAP. read more

Amazing service. I had a really unique handmade clock I'd found in a consignment store several years ago, and when I recently dropped it and broke the glass face for the second time, I said 'that's it; I need a plastic face'. So where do I get one made? A childhood jingle (from the 1960's) came into my head: "Tap, Tap Plastics; the Fantastic Plastic Place!" Lo and behold, they were not only still in business, but there was one in town. I brought my clock down half an hour before closing, had it sized, and got a call first thing the next morning that it was ready for pickup. I was able to pick the exact diameter as well as the thickness. It was beautiful, and the service was so very friendly. Plus, the price was great. I'm so glad this place is still around. read more

This place is great. I bought a computer case with an acrylic side panel awhile ago for a computer I was building. The company that shipped it decided to not tie up a plastic connector on the side and it scratched up the entire side panel. I brought in the case side to Tap Plastics and despite it being a difficult cut, they managed to create another panel that fit perfectly. The real surprising part is that it was about 20 dollars to get done. How great is that? read more

First, the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is admittedly beyond their control, or capabilities. But Cheryl and crew are awesome, Cheryl was willing to work with me on a problematic design prototype from what were admittedly rudimentary sketches, patient and willing to work with me and make it happen... it appears that I am as persistent as they are ! Because Cheryl and her fabricators (thank you whomever you are) were able to deliver. Now if they only were able to thermoform, then I'd ask to work there. ( and I'd post five stars) read more

These guys were awesome when we had a DIY project to work on, except that the material options were so great it was hard deciding on acrylic vs pvc vs whatever else they carried. It's hard figuring out what glue to use when combining the different types. In the end, all was well, but it did take a couple visits to get it straight. Wish it was clearer which glue to use with what. Super friendly staff though and well organized store. Will be back when in need of plastics again. read more

I spoke to him the night before I went in, and Jeff was just as helpful on the phone as he was at TAP the next morning. I do not know him personally, but this guy could have written the book on sales and the public.
