Val certainly deserves all the rave reviews, which is what led me to call Him to help with the broken latch on the door from the house to the garage. We could only get into the garage by raising the overhead door, a major inconvenience. Val said he could come right over and he did. After seeing the comments about Val's expertise, I called and got a same day appointment, along with the privilege of meeting Val and his father. It was a delightful visit, which lasted about 8 minutes. My front door lock had not worked for 2 1/2 years, forcing me to go through the garage and greet guests by having them walk through my garage, instead of the front door. First of all I was nervous about choosing a locksmith because it was for my grandmother- she needed 2 doors re-keyed- who knows where the original keys went. I called Val of Tapia Locksmith on a Saturday morning and he was over in about 30 minutes as scheduled. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and fixed a few legacy issues with the doors (without charge) one of the doors didn't catch to the strike plate. I loathe lengthy reviews. However, Val is the best! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! He is extremely professional, kind, and honest. Not to mention, very affordable. He's one of those rare people you find that is genuinely passionate about their line of work. As soon as he pulled up to my apartment, he apologized for 'taking too long' which he didn't whatsoever. (Trust me, I'm super impatient.) After he unlocked my door, I managed to jam my screen door so that it wouldn't shut. Too proud to beg, I kept fidgeting with it. All of a sudden, Val is running up my steps with his tools to fix it! I was so embarrassed and offered him some extra cash but being the kind professional he is, he refused! Last year, I managed to stupidly break my key off IN MY IGNITION (luckily car wasn't running but still) and Val came out and spent probably at least 3 hours digging it out and hobbling it back together enough to cut me new keys. He even broke one of his tools trying to get it out and didn't charge me anything extra for it. I felt his rates were very fair and well worth every penny. Great service.. I lost my "fob" my ONLY fob.. called the dealership ( Chrysler) in Napa.Was told I had to have the car towed in, they would order key and it would take about three days and cost over 400.. an extra key would be another 300..soooo I called Val.. he checked what fob I needed, checked his stock and was at my house within a hour of our final discussion. I was back on the road within two hours from that phone call. And at less than 2/3 the price.. polite nice honest and can break into any car or home.. what more could you want!!
