I walked in and there was no one here so I didn't grab a table. When I finished ordering at the kiosk, all the tables were taken! It was an Asian Invasion!!!! Lol. Must be a good place to eat. Apparently a basketball game just ended and several families walked in. Ordering on the kiosk was easy. You click on what you want and it takes you to a window for extra options. Many different "silog" varieties to choose from: aside from the usual, they also have spam, adobo, tinapa, chicken, hotdog, and bagnet. You can also order pancit and lumpias. I ordered the Liemposilog and a halo halo. Liemposilog was decent. Good portion size! Lots of meat. Didn't look so much like the photo. I thought it would be more similar to Lechon Kawali. This was thinner and not crunchy. Halo Halo was good. Lots of toppings. Definitely a great place to stop for fast Filipino food. Establishment was clean. A few tables for couples and small groups. Order came out within 5-10 min.

We this establishment on the way home. Decided to try it. There's a kiosk to order and the menu is easy and basic. Looking at the prices it's overpriced for some silog meal. I'm sorry but $14 for a longsilog is highway robbery. For a small bowl of pancit is $9. And the portions are small. You have to order a side to make it satisfying and that's $9. The pancit was delicious. And the longganisa and tapa was ok. Definitely worth trying out if you're in the area.

Been wanting to try this place for a minute. I perused the menu before.i wasn't in the mood for any -silog dishes. I drove over because I wanted to have them hang a flyer of an upcoming Filipino Heritage program at my library. I walked in apparently they had just got their power restored 10 mins before. I decided on the pancit and halo halo to go. Ok the halo halo was good. The pancit apparently was a mix of two different pancit, bihon and canton and it was topped with stripes of fried pork. Im a strictly bihon person. Now I know my people dish is heavy on garlic especially Adobe. But this had too much garlic. The vampires from Translyvannia could smell it. Ill be back for the halo halo though. I stick to making my own bihonpancit

if you're a real corn lover, you will enjoy the mais con yellow. crunchy ice, creamy ice cream and sweet corn kernels on the bottom. had a fun time eating and tasting it. tapsilog is sweet and savory shredded beef. can have some tougher bites but still good overall. parking situation hit or miss because its shared in a plaza. order through kiosk but the staff packing ur order are nice!

This is a place a crave quite a bit but am not as close as I wish I was. I was introduced to tapsilog from a regular and local. At first I didn't think much just based off the location but I try to not judge a book by it's cover and actually try the food and then judge based off that. So this is a definitely must try spot for me. A hole in the wall that is too good to not try for yourself. The service is usually quick and very friendly. You could go and order in person which is a tablet, call in the order, or order online for pick up. All very quick and very efficient. The actual location is in a small shopping center but finding parking isn't that hard. I got the liemposilog. The pork belly is crispy and yummy. I always add condiments to my rice to give it some extra flavor like the vinegar and some chili oil for extra flavor if not you could also have it as is. The space is very open and great vibes inside. Overall I always can't wait to get back to the bay to get this for lunch. Check them out!!

First time here by chance, passing by. Didn't know this place has Filipino food. Cashier was super friendly & recommending different dishes. It's cafeteria style with Big screen. I ended up with Halo Halo and the Corn Ice Cream, rushing to see Super Bowl, lol. Will be back to try out their dishes! Thank you for being so friendly & courteous!

Incredibly tasty food. Excellent Service. Solid atmosphere. Even with guests in the restaurant/being served, we received our order in under ten minutes. My Tapsilog was sweet, tangy, and cooked perfectly. The Halo Halo was also impeccable-- a unique concoction that is a must try when you come in. 5/5, I look forward to next time!

We were going to be in this area and my Yelp search for halo halo led us to this restaurant. It's pretty good Pinoy fast food...hubs enjoyed the bangsilog and I ordered the tapsilog. Both had good flavor and generous portions. The tapa was yummy ...a bit greasy and a tad sweet but once you dip it in vinegar, it works! Hit the spot for our Pinoy food craving. My favorite is what we came here for...halo halo! It's been at least 3 years since we had it and their version had the right ratio of fixings and crushed ice. A real treat! Service was pleasant, friendly, and efficient. Not the best eat-in experience ... slightly grimy table, sticky vinegar bottle on the table, tiny plastic utensils but all understandable because of covid. We'll definitely be back if we happen to be in the neighborhood. read more

My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and it's a safe bet for a fast filipino craving. They're consistent and convenient. We usually get the longsilog and tosilog and it's delicious every time. The staff here are very nice and hardworking. We also always get the pineapple coolers here. Their pineapple juice hits different from store bought pineapple juice. Yum. read more

5/17/2019 I decided to give them another try since I am in the area. I was so turned off by the terrible customer service I received. The hours of business states that they open at 10:00am, I attempted to open the door a little past opening, it was still locked, that is fine, I understand there are opening duties to be completed, no big deal. When my party of 3 finally got in, we weren't greeted. We tried to greet the young lady at the register so we can order. "Hello"... no response "Good Morning"... still no response She clearly heard every word but did not acknowledge us. She stared at us and looked back down . She seemed as though she was in a bit of a bad mood. This is poor customer service. You are the face of the restaurant. Your job is to greet guests with a positive upbeat attitude. You are in charge of all the sales that walk through that door. Your negative attitude turned customers away and have no interest in returning. This is bad for business. Luckily Seafood Market just opened up with better options and excellent customer service. Sorry Tapsilog Express, I suggest coaching your front staff about the importance of customer service. Your food can be good but customer plays a huge role in the restaurant industry. Mediocre, cheap fast food- bad customer service. There are plenty options in the area. read more

Came in hungry, and I knew one little bangus wasn't going to be enough, so I asked if I could make my order a combo with fish AND chicken. Cashier says "no problem, I'll add a side of chicken." Ended up with a lot of food. All of it was really good. BBQ chicken had a sweet glaze & just the right amount of char. Garlic rice didn't have the crunchy bits of fried garlic that I'm used to, but the flavor was good. Order took quite a while even though there wasn't anyone else in the place at the time, but it was worth the wait. read more

I'm glad to have found this branch of Tapsilog Express. The variety of menus they have is very pleasing even to the consumer of discriminating taste. Each recipe is well prepared, season well and delicately Prepared to soothe the taste of customer that frequent this place. It so happen that the people who operate this restaurant came from the same province I came from ( Pampanga ). This province is well known and popular for their unique cuisine that pleases both the locals and tourist alike. Their main dishes as well as their desserts are something to explore and enjoy for to your hearts content. This is our go-to lunch delivery place via doordash if we're craving for some quick Filipino food. It doesn't exactly give you that "homecooked meal your mom makes you" kinda vibe but it still hits the spot. Fast service and they never fail to accommodate our request either for just plain rice or scrambled eggs in exchange with garlic rice or sunny side side up. They also offer halo-halo and sago't gulaman for dessert which is perfect! read more

Very accommodating. Went in about noon to see if i could get an half tray of of lumpia by 4pm. They aid no problem i could have it in an hour if you like. Told them 4pm is fine. By far the best lumpia's I ever had. Fresh and taste great. read more

I've been wanting to try their food for a long time and I got the chance while I was having my pedi next door. I ordered take out sisigsilog, tapsilog and bangsilog for my husband and I. We tried the tapsilog, it was not good as i expected, very dry. Oil they used maybe old. My husband brought the sisigsilog to work, he said he doesn't like it either. The bangsilog was wasted. Will not go back there, not recommendable. read more

Yum yum yummmmm. I've been coming here literally since the spot opened and the food is CONSISTENTLY good. I've probably tried the whole menu and my favorites are the Tosilog & Bangsilog which is what i usually recommend to first timers. My whole family comes here from all over the Bay, that says something considering we're picky filipinos ourselves lol. The place is very clean and the staff is always SUPER friendly and goes above and beyond for us customers, especially Janet :) honorable mention: the Halo halo, on a hot day i mean it's a must. read more

The silogs are decent if you're craving it. I ordered different kinds-- Bagnet, tinapa, Tocino, tapa-- all were ok. The tapa is shredded so it's a little weird, but flavorful. The tinapa is a crispier than what I would prefer, but it's ok. Overall, not bad... read more

Perfect spot if your easing your way in to Filipino cuisine. This place offers classic Filipino breakfast that brings back memories of the motherland. Definitely feeds the tummy and satisfies the soul! Their sisigsilog is a must try as well as their chorizosilog! Make sure you try this place! Very nice ambiance, clean, reasonable price, and very friendly staff! And did I forget to mention that they have a bomb playlist? You'll never leave this place without a satisfied burp! read more

The sign of a good Chinese restaurant is a room full of Chinese people enjoying their meal, talking all loud. The sign of a good Filipino restaurant is a good mix of demographics enjoying the food, eating in silence, with that slight growl people make when they're really enjoying the food. Wow, was it really quiet in there, full of a variety of neighborhood people. So even if I drove 20 minutes to reach this place, my food arrived and I got really quiet, too. Meat, chicken or seafood on garlicky rice...and a fried egg to make it the famous Filipino silog. Simple yet very good. As for selection, you'll be able to order whatever you're craving. After getting slightly tired of the bangus that everyone else serves, I was pleasantly surprised to see they also offer another fried fish, tinapa. I guess it was just good to get a slightly crispier fish. All the typical fixins of vinegar, hot sauce and soy sauce were available, so it pretty much capped off a simply delicious meal. I am so glad I finally found Tapsilog Express. I'm not from the area, so it was a talagang serendipitous find! read more

The company was founded in February of 2014 in the fine City of Hayward, CA. We have now expanded to a nearby City in San Leandro, and we aim to expand in other cities as well in the near future.

Meet the Business Owner: John T.

John, who was born and raised in the Philippines, has always been passionate about food growing up. His mom had always cooked a variety of real Filipino, Spanish, and Italian home-cooked meals. He thought of sharing this passion for food when they went to the States, and this led to the founding of Tapsilog Express.

They were happy with the food, and enjoyed the portions, but the service was pretty lacking. We were the only table there. The did not check on us at all. We had to ask for water to be refilled. When it came time to take food to go, we had to ask for the container, bags, and the right sized containers and the right sized bags. The older woman with the jet black hair was the one who rude and dismissive. When I asked her for a larger bag, she said that was the largest one. I pointed out that we gave them a very generous tip and that I see larger brown bags, but she still did not offer me one. She was very defensive, and said she thought I was referring to a plastic bag. Folks, don't make the mistake of over tipping here. You don't get the service you expect and deserve. The food is good though, but the service sucks! We spent, with the tip, about $240.

This is a good combination between the outdoors grill it yourself and the indoors seating of both the SoCal Dollar Hits, so I thought that was nice. They have all the classics here, isaw (sometimes Dollar Hits doesn't have this unless you request -it's chicken intestines), large intestines, chicken skin, kwek kwek (battered quail eggs), and Tender Juicy bright red filipino hot dogs (a must). You can also order a side of rice and the sauces were self serve (made it a bit sticky). It gets a bit smoky in there even with the fans, but overall had an enjoyable time the time when I did visit.

Silog Feast Delivered -- Hits, Misses, and a Clear Winner Food (4 / 5): This was a to-go order via DoorDash, and I went all in so you don't have to -- ordering the Longsilog, Bagnetsilog, Spamsilog, Tosilog, and Bangsilog. Overall, the silogs are on point. The rice was freshly cooked -- soft, fluffy, and no hard bits, which is always a good sign. Each plate also came with sliced tomatoes and cucumber, which I really appreciated as a simple palate cleanser between bites. The Bangsilog was solid in flavor, but just a heads up -- the to-go trays are a bit small, so the bangus portion isn't very big. Tasty, but you might still be a little hungry afterward. The Bagnetsilog was the only letdown for me. I was expecting something closer to a juicy, crunchy chicharrón, but the meat came off more jerky-like, and the skin was tough to bite through. This was my first time trying it, so I don't have a strong comparison point -- but based on this experience, it's something I'd personally skip. Now the standout: the Tosilog. Easily the best of the bunch. The meat was juicy, sweet, and tender -- everything you'd want in a comfort meal. This is the one I'd come back for again and again.
