I suggest buying less than recommended for the number of people, as the pork is quite filling; we ended up with an entire extra slab that heated up in the oven quite nicely with the provided instructions. Holy cow, ngl, these are the best-smelling lumpia I've ever encountered! I picked up 50 lumpia for a potluck, it just smelled amazing in my car that I had to resist the urge to eat in my car! I did sneak one for myself while it was still fresh, and no one noticed since 50 lumpia is A LOT. The ladies working here are super nice and sweet. I called them a day in advance to put in an order of 50 lumpia, and it was super easy to put in an order, and they told me it'll be ready by my pickup time the next day. Came here towards closing on a Sunday before a little potluck I was heading to in the south bay. Called their location beforehand to see if there was any cebuchon left. The lady who answered was very nice and informed me there was about a pound and a half left and she would try to save me some since I was less than 10mins away. By the time I got there, it wasn't too busy than I expected. Their location is so much bigger than their Suisun city location. It was nice and clean including their restrooms. The lady who assisted me was the one who had answered the phone. I was able to get a pound worth. I noticed the price has gone up since the last time I was at their other location. By the time we sat down to eat, the line got even longer so I would recommend coming in before noon and before they run out and have to wait longer for the next batch. I visited Cebu in 2023 and I loved the Lechon there so when I heard of this place. I have to try. The hotel I stayed at is called BAI Hotel in Cebu lol You can only order their stuff in lb and size. Like Al le carte or cafeteria style. The smallest size is half a pound of lechon but we got the full pound and some rice too. The skin is super crispy while the meat is tender but the only thing I don't like is the oil. I don't know where the extra oil comes from since it looks fine when they are rolled up and while they are chopping it to pieces. After 5 bites in, it becomes too oily and heavy for me. The 2 sauces they gave us paired well with the meats. Maybe they should offer customer a couple of lettuce to layer on the bottom of our meats to help with the oil. I almost gagged while eating my last couple bites. They do taste good overall or at least my first few bites were delicious. I had been waiting to try Bai Cebu Lechon (BCL) Hayward for a couple of years. First hearing that they would open this daughter branch in Hayward as an offshoot of the original Suisun City locale. So I waited, but then after they opened in Hayward, I thought hmmm, I want to compare it to the original since that is the first and often the best, and I've never had lechon before. My logic or attempt thereof was that I should go to the one up north first to set a benchmark. But then since it was kind of a long drive, I procrastinated...for a long while. I ran out of excuses when my friend and his wife who grew up in the Philippines came to visit and she was a bit homesick. I thought some homestyle lechon might alleviate some of her malaise, so it was onward to Suisun City. (You can read my review there.) That was over a month ago, and now I was armed with my baseline to try BCL Hayward and compare. In a pecan shell, I liked this one more, and the icing on the cake (or tasty salt dust on the pecan shell), it's a lot closer. There's no way I can comment on how's the fare here compared to state of the art lechon since I've only had it at the two BCL locations. I can only say my experience here down south was better. First, of course, the lechon. The skin was thicker with a heartier crunch. The pork meat was also more tender. It was, though, equally salty. I don't know if lechon is supposed to be always this salty, but if it is, it will definitely take some getting used to for this Chinese-American, who's used to the less salty Cantonese roast pork. Even the presentation was better than BCL 1. After the chopper (lechon butcher?) cut up my 1/2 pound of lechon, it looked like a mess. I turned away to order some pancit. What I discovered, after sitting down for a late lechon lunch and opening the styrofoam box was that she had carefully pieced it back together with the corresponding skin squares on top of the matching cubes of meat. It was a pretty and inviting sight! The pancit was a surprise. I thought it would just be pan fried flour noodles (after seeing some packs in the stores), but it was actually much more! There were flour noodles and vermicelli-like noodles. There were also chunks of pork scattered throughout. All this fried in oil from the lechon, which strongly infused the noodles with the flavors of the pork. Though not similar to Chinese chow mein in taste, it was similar in that it was full of enough ingredients to be a stand alone meal. Overall, its flavor was enjoyably potent, but again, quite salty. I realize now why the woman taking my order kept asking if I wanted to add rice (which I didn't). It's a necessity to balance out the saltiness of the lechon and pancit. Also, the sublime sweet and sour sauce and the black vinegar dip helped to counter the saltiness. The woman taking my order was also very friendly with a very welcoming energy. Again, it was in stark contrast to my experience with the woman at BCL north. The Hayward location also had a very spacious and clean dining area. It's just the right decorum to beckon you to sit down, chill and enjoy the lechon on the spot while it's hot before taking any home. A caveat to my fellow yelpers. The hours say they close at 3pm. But since it was quiet early, they had already packed everything away and started cleaning and closing by 2:30 pm. I'm not saying they do this every day, but I'd definitely give them a call if you're planning to come by on the late side. It's good stuff, but you can't try it if the door's locked. read more

I was born and raised in Cebu and I know the taste of an authentic Cebu lechon, especially, the one in Talisay Cebu. I've been craving and searching the closest taste here in the US. I've heard this place from a co-worker so I checked it out today (9/13/2025) expecting that it will taste great because of the Cebuano word "Bai" and the word "Cebu" associated in their store name. It was love at first bite! I was in the area running errands and was craving lunch, then I stumbled upon this place after seeing the enticing food photos on Yelp. The setup is a take-out service counter, with tables available for those who prefer to dine in. I was initially very confused because there was no apparent menu, aside from a sign displaying the lechon belly's price ($22/lb at the time of this review). They had other food items displayed, but there weren't any labels or pricing displayed with them. I didn't find the staff taking my order particularly friendly, but the cashier was kind. I think the lechon belly was a bit pricey, but I can't deny that it was delicious. The skin was incredibly crispy and the meat was succulent. It's definitely heavy on your stomach though, so I recommend getting the atchara (pickled papaya) on the side to help cut some of that fat. I also tried their empanadas, but their flavor profile was a bit too sweet for my tastes. They offer party trays, but those require at least one week's advance notice.
