This place was previously called Toto's Grill but has since rebranded to its current name, The Grill by Miss G. I'm not entirely sure what happened with Toto, but Miss G operates the restaurant in much the same way, with a few new additions, such as a karaoke stand and floral decorations on the ceiling. These updates add a charming touch to the restaurant's ambiance, evoking a nostalgic vibe of "street food," "pulutan nights," or however you'd like to describe it. When I first came here, the experience felt exciting and deeply nostalgic. However, the novelty wears off after a few visits. The "grill your own skewers" concept is still enjoyable, but it's really just "reheating" your food, which loses its appeal over time. It would be amazing to have a true "grill your own skewers" experience similar to Korean BBQ restaurants, though I understand that might require a different type of licensing. Imagine a Filipino street food spot where you could actually grill your own skewers--something like a tambayan atmosphere with skewers as the pulutan. Considering the addition of karaoke to the restaurant, this idea feels even more fitting. That was my fantasy when I first heard about the rebranding. Nonetheless, I still recommend this place because their skewers are genuinely delicious. The BBQ pork has that authentic Filipino BBQ flavor, especially when paired with the vinegar sauce. The Manong Sauce for the fish balls is probably my favorite--it elevates the taste of fish balls, squid balls, and other seafood skewers, which are otherwise just okay. My favorite skewer, though, is the kwek-kwek--deep-fried quail eggs on a skewer. It's rare to see kwek-kwek on other Filipino restaurant menus, and that really enhances the nostalgic experience.

Wow, we just found this great place in Hayward. It is a grill specializing in Filipino food. The food is made fresh to order, and you can get some special items- we got freshly grilled bangus, which is also called milk fish. The staff are friendly and eager to help. There is spacious dining areas that can accommodate larger parties. Definitely worth trying!

We've been craving for isaw and ihaw ihaw for awhile and my husband wanted to try this so since we were in town, we passed by. In my honest opinion, its not that wow though its not thad bad. Fairly priced given the inflation and the location ( everything in the bay is expensive). The lady in the counter was attentive and theres a lot of space when we came in on a sunday lunch time so it wasnt that bad. More power to you all!

Great place! I believe this used to be called Toto's Grill. I lived down in San Diego for 10 years and they had a Toto's Grill down there that I had been to. The Grill By Miss G is an affordable Filipino street food place. BBQ skewers are about $2 a stick and you can pick from a variety of snacks like red hot dog, fish balls, kwek kwek, chicken or pork BBQ, intestines, siomai etc. Everything is pre-cooked but you can re-heat it in their communal grill that's located in the middle of the restaurant. I loved the cheap prices and the food wasn't bad either. The night we went there was a company having a Christmas party there so go to enjoy the entertainment.

Tasty street food. They have pork bbq, chicken bbq, longganisa, adidas, kikiam, lobster balls, fish ball, pig ears, hotdogs, etc. I like the adidas and my husband likes the pork bbq. Their sauce taste so good!! The price went up, $2.50 a stick now. It's still reasonably priced. Self serve. No complaints with service . It has a lot of seating available and they're only open Thursday to Sunday. There were times we went here and they had guys singing in their mini stage. We ordered 9 sticks and 2 plain rice for $30.

This place is a bit challenging to find since it's right off a busy street. It has its own parking lot though so that's nice! We came here on a rainy day and there was no on inside. It's a good space with enough grills to reheat your food. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. Each stick is $1.85 and rice was an additional cost. There are endless amount of sauces you can choose from. The meats had a nice marinade to them. The grill took a bit long to heat up our sticks so by the time we ate, the rice was a bit cold. Maybe I didn't see the burner to turn it up a notch. Still enjoyable and I would return!

Just driving by and saw the place on my maps. Would recommend. Bought a few samples and they were good. Can heat up and grill your own also.

Do you like to grill and enjoy live music ? Well this is your spot ! Specializing in Philipino style meats , stomach, and other parts ! Lots of great option chicken beef pork and some seafood. You make your way through the line picking your skewers. Prices are great ! They are all precooked and you just heat they up on the grill. You find a nice spot on the grill and start to go. Nothing like grilling alongside a bunch of strangers while listening to a local band. There is only rice and a side option but after tons of skewers why would you like to waste stomach space on sides. Not your typical dinner spot but worth a try !

Our family stop by for some skewers. They had great variety of skewers. The service is great, they offer our kids cookies on the house. The restaurant set up toward homey style, very welcoming. Though I do feel the price is a bit on a higher ends for street food style.

Attended my friends band play in this restaurant. Nice place, good food and parking is available!

I've been here plenty of times before the pandemic. Especially to get my balut fix. The place serves Filipino street food. Majority of the items are skewers of different things which can be warmed/regrilled on their communal grill. There's pork, chicken, shumai, deep fried quail eggs, fish balls, lobster balls, and a bunch of other stuff on a stick. There's a few entrees as well. Good service all around. The food is okay. I'm more so there when in the mood for balut. Most the time the balut is good. I was probably disappointed one time when there was no sabaw in my eggs. But of course I still ate them. Been here a few times since it opened back up. Prices have gone up from what I noticed. Place is also a bit outdated and not much entertainment to dining in. TVs would definitely be great for game nights. But that's just what I think.

Every Bay Area Filipino's go-to for Filipino street food. The place is really nice inside and staff are very friendly. The food is good as well, can't go wrong. If you're not Filipino and feeling adventurous, wanting to try this for the first time, you can always start off with the standard bbq meat or hotdogs. All the meat is technically already cooked, you're just grilling/charring it unlike the authentic ones in the Philippines.

I came here a couple of months ago to get some skewers to take home. It was fun to get an assortment of items to try, and I enjoyed everything. One highlight for me is the quail eggs in dough: kwek kwek. I like quail eggs in general and these were fun. One thing I will not get again if I go back is the pig intestine-- intestine is too fatty for me, and the pig intestine had a pronounced intestine flavor, not my favorite. The chicken intestine would be my go-to intestine instead. Something nice about this place is the grill in the middle of the restaurant for people to grill their skewers before eating. It brings a community atmosphere and something for families and friends to do together at their meal.

Now onto the food. The tosilog was sooo good! The meat was seasoned and grilled perfectly. The java rice is okay, I wish they have garlic rice as an option. Hubby got the longanisa and it was good too. Portions are huge. Service was good even though they had a full house. They're not on DoorDash which is a bummer. We would definitely come back again but not during rush hour.

When it came time to take food to go, we had to ask for the container, bags, and the right sized containers and the right sized bags. The older woman with the jet black hair was the one who rude and dismissive. When I asked her for a larger bag, she said that was the largest one. I pointed out that we gave them a very generous tip and that I see larger brown bags, but she still did not offer me one. She was very defensive, and said she thought I was referring to a plastic bag. Folks, don't make the mistake of over tipping here. You don't get the service you expect and deserve. The food is good though, but the service sucks! We spent, with the tip, about $240.
