Every thing here is delicious . Believe it or not but my favorite are the hamburgers! I always get the Tex Mex.

Omg the food at this place is the best!! I've ordered take out from this place several times. I've had the chorizo and egg, trompo, chicharron and barbacoa tacos. They were all awesome! Gas station tacos, sketchy right? WRONG!!! These guys make the best tacos around town. I prefer the trombo meat, its crispy and delicious. They have red and green hot sauces which have the perfect amount of flavor and heat, and their prices are very reasonable for the food that you get. Bad take out service. Placed an order to be picked up @11 am two days in advance. Got there and one hour later still not ready to be picked up. Also, come to find out no rice and beans were given and when we called to have a refund, person said no refund because beans and rice were free. Ordered a big order for an office party. It was suppose to come with rice and beans ordered it 2 days in advance and still the order was not ready when arrived to be picked up. When we called to let them know the beans and rice were not in the bags and we wanted a refund they claimed if we wanted the beans and rice we needed to go back to get them and they do not give refund. They have THE BEST Al Pastor tacos in Irving, and that's saying something because there are so damn many Mexican places in Irving. They are literally on every other corner. This place is the best if you want a good street taco though. They have a 10 for 13.99 with rice and beans special so you have plenty to share at a great price. It's in a run down convenience store that's kinda grimy but ignore that and go straight to the back. I usually call ahead so I don't have to spend much time in that place. read more

DO.NOT.EAT. HERE. I've never been more encouraged to leave a review before. Do not give these dishonest people your business. The first time I tried the place because of the reviews, I figured the food must be really good and to my delight, it was! I promised that whenever I was in the area I would always visit. A week later I was in the area again and went. It was in the morning so I ordered a large steak breakfast burrito. As I placed my order, the cooks in the back along with the cashier started speaking in Spanish and laughing, immediately I got a vibe that they were talking about me as they also mentioned my order. But I shrugged it off as nothing but maybe a joke being made. As the guy rings me up I immediately notice that he overcharged me. The price is 5.99 but for some reason, he charged me $10 almost double...I try not to be a confrontational type of guy and there were other people behind me as well, so I convinced myself that maybe the order comes with a side of fries or maybe the steak was a premium item(even tho it didn't say that on the menue). I'm a little annoyed but since the food I had the first time was so good I figured it would be worth it. I get my food super fast witch was surprising but nice, and leave to my car. As I started to leave I get a screaming feeling to check my order. I open it up and it is NOT WHAT I ORDERED. It was not a breakfast burrito, it had lettuce tomatoes, beans, and rice. I realize what happened. Instead of taking the time to actually make my breakfast burrito which would take the time they just made me another item with ingredients that were already ready, such as beans, rice, lettuce, ect. Either A they thought by the time I realized what happened I would have been gone and wouldn't want to come back or B I would be too dumb to notice. I called up the store from my car and asked how much the large breakfast burrito was and what it came with. I was told it was 5.99 and that it came with literally everything that was not in my burrito. I was Heated. I wasn't gonna let them take advantage of me like that (btw I'm black & I don't speak Spanish which is why I think they did that). I went back in and I kept calm even tho I wanted to yell, and I asserted myself and asked him why he overcharged me for my food and then served me the wrong item on purpose. THE LOOK ON HIS FACE WAS PRICELESS. Pure shock, he didn't even consider the idea of me realizing and confronting him. He was stuttering and everything. It made it worth stepping out of my comfort zone. He refunded me the overcharged amount (which wasn't even my main concern it was about being disrespected and taken advantage of) but he couldn't tell me WHY he overcharged me or gave me the wrong order. Also, all of the workers were mean mugging me as if I had done something wrong! They remade my order correctly, which took time because they were actually making it how it should be(wasn't even good). They lost a loyal customer that would have spent hundreds at their establishment. I know this review is very long but I needed to get it off my chest because I'm so mad. I love Mexican food and always support small businesses but you should treat all customers with the same respect, regardless if they are or not Mexican. As people of color, we should be uplifting each other not trying to take advantage of each other! Food is good here but the people are unethical, I recommend supporting another business with better values. read more

Bang for your buck. One of the hidden gems on Walnut Hill, if you can get past the area the Trompo here is one of my lifetime favorites. BEST TACOS IVE EVER HAD!! ..and I've eaten a lot of tacos. Charly's has become my go-to anytime I want tacos. I even had them cater my birthday party and everyone was blown away. BETTER THAN FUEL CITY! One word. TROMPO. This is pastor cooked the same way as a gyro. They slice the meat then put it on the flat top to crisp it up. I crave these tacos at least once a week. This place will never cease to amaze with every bite. The salsa is always on point and the breakfast burritos are incredible. I can't say enough about this place. I started coming to Taqueria Charlys about 4 months ago and it has the best tacos and refried beans and rice that I have ever had! This place is inside of the gas station on the corner of N Beltline Rd and Country Club in Irving Tx. If you are anywhere near this place you have to stop in and grab the 3 taco meal with rice and beans! And the price is great as well! read more
