This place has awesome burritos. Do yourself a favor and get yourself some you won't regret it

I'm a fan! Came here after work to pick up some dinner. Just a heads up, it's not a sit down type taqueria; it's a grab n go. This is a family ran taqueria which is great! I got to see the members of the family cooking, one washing dishes, and the another take orders, etc. I ordered a torta with carne asada as well as four carne asada tacos. The total came to about $23 which is decent. The freshly made the food so it took maybe 15 mins to get everything done. They served fresh tortilla chips and salsas with the order and this is a huge plus. The torta was huge with a nice mayo base, meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado. I do wish they put meat cheese on top of the meat for more taste and texture but it's ok. The bread was a bit thin so at times it was starting to fall apart and crack open. Their tacos were also decent. The tortillas weren't hand made but it's still fine. They grilled the tortilla for the tacos and filled it with lots of meat and salsa. They could season their beef a bit more with a tiny bit of salt; at times it was bland. I'd definitely come back again and try a super burrito and another torta. This is so far the best local taqueria around the DB area. It's better than some of the other Mexican spots I've tried. read more

I had some time in the area and I've heard great things about Taqueria Diaz from other people around the area. When I went in I was greeted and was able to ask a few questions for different items to pick. Inside is small but they have a few chairs to sit on while you wait for your food. I was in and out very quickly even though they had alot of people who were ordering and picking up. I got a few items to try - Enchilada with birria($4.00) Small nachos with pastor(12.00) Corn quesadilla($3.50) for my son Plus they give chips and salsa with your order! That's something I love when Mexican restaurants include that extra little detail of chips and salsa without asking makes me happy. I paid $21.21 and I have sooo much food! Look at the nachoes they are huge! The nachoes were very heavy so they loaded them up beautifully and you get a lot of toppings on each bite. The pastor was a good choice for the nachos, always my go to meat. It seemed like they are popular with birria so I went with the enchilada with birria since I was really wanting to try their mole. The mole was a great flavor and tasted authentic, like something I would get from my grandmas house. They also fill the enchilada with a lot of the meat. Once again, so much food! Small spot in the middle of nowhere next to the worst gas station to get in and out of serving some of the best authentic Mexican food around here we got an all asada burrito and cheese enchiladas. Everything is delicious. Salsa is fresh and a great accompany to the burrito. I personally loved the mole and the portions were very good size. The service is friendly and fast. I will be back to try then Cuban sandwich! read more

Solid spot if you ask me! Definitely a take out spot, do not expect to dine here as there is very limited seating. Also linked parking, as it is a share plaza. But if you are looking for a spot to grab fast and yummy tacos, this is the spot! I got their birria tacos and they were so good! They serve each meal with chips and salsa! LOVEEEE THIS PLACE!! Burritos are really good, tasty, and some good spicy hit to it. Their chips are so crispy and their salsa is really good. It's in the same parking lot as a gas station which made it nondescript upon arriving. There's a few waiting chairs inside and a table outside to sit. The restroom is a porter potty so not the most luxurious experience. Customer service was super friendly and quick! We only stumbled upon this place after exploring the trail at Clifton Court Forebay and wanted something close by. I had 0 expectations but wow!!!!! Ordered the beef tongue taco and menudo and got several types of salsa and the order came with a free bag of chips. The chips are my favorite kind to get at mexican restaurants. Super crunchy and tasted freshly made. The beef tongue taco looked small at first and the tortillas were very soggy but the tongue itself was so good!! I enjoy beef tongue but at restaurants sometimes they over season it or chop it too small but these were cut to the perfect size and just tasted high quality and really good. The menudo was honestly one of the best menudo's I have had. The broth was AMAZING, just a squeeze of lime and I could drink that broth all the time. The pig stuff seemed to be a mix of tripe and trotters/feet. Very simple soup but the pig organs were also chopped to a nice size. Sometimes restaurants put huge chunks which makes it hard to chew and eat. This tiny hole in the wall next to a gas station was definitely worth it. Fabulous hidden gem! Excellent food, a delightful young man taking the orders. Speedy Service. And did I mention excellent food? Best burritos ever in an unassuming location. I am from LA and for the time I have been in the area, I am always on the hunt for good Mexican food. I was getting gas at Valero one day and noticed people going in and decided to try. We'll 3 yrs later, I still go for the chicken burrito, carne asada burrito and carne asada nachos. The also have fries/pappas so I typically pair my burrito with a hot order of fries....their tortilla chips are great as well. A rare find for the area. Its really small inside but the do have limited seating outside. I typically take it to go as parking is limited as well. read more

Oh my effin God!! At first bite I was smitten. Stopped by this gas station this morning to grab my Red bull. Asked counter lady if next door tacos were any good. She emphatically responded with a huge yes and then suggested the crispy chicken tacos. Went next door. Small "hole" in the wall spot (which statically they are the best). Ordered (2) carnitas soft tacos con todo. And (1) crispy chicken taco, as cool ass counter Lady next door had suggested, and oh man oh wow so good. Literally smashed my first Carnitas taco in 1 minute and had to post this review. Will save the other one to give to my co worker and I'll eat the chicken one later! Oh and they have machaca on the menu. Gonna have to try that on my next visit! read more

Was craving a breakfast burrito, and found Taqueria Diaz online. Definitely out of the way, but was busy filling pick up orders. My chorizo and egg burrito was very good and definitely enough for two meals. I will go out of the way to try other meals in the future. read more

Found this gem on Yelp. Hidden next to a gas station / convenience store/ liquor store... Ordered six breakfast burritos.... some with bacon, some with chorizo.... because another reviewer raves about the "Super" burritos- Super - sized them adding sour cream and guacamole to all. OMG they were huge and despite being a big eater two of us split one. My other friends cut one in three. BEST chorizo burrito we have ever had. And the perfect amount of spicy! read more

My go to Mexican restaurant in the Discobay area for years. The burritos are HUGE. And the complementary salsa and chips are some of the best around. I usually get their marinated pork super burrito. Very juicy and spicy. I've been meaning to try something else, but I always end up walking out with the same thing because i like it so much. read more

It's very hard for me to find REALLY GOOD Authentic Mexican places, being that I'm Mexican myself and I know how food should taste (from a mexican restaurant). I also do cook myself, but sometimes I don't want to cook and I'm always wanting Mexican food.. Today we ordered the SUPER carne asada nachos and SUPER carne asada burrito, they came with all the fixings. Salsas were included, picante too (picante is spicy). A B S O L U T L E Y - T H E - B E S T I've had so far in the East Bay. I live in Brentwood, so I would consider this a somewhat a local place. But WELL WORTH IT! Worth every buck!
