Local Riverside gem! Have been coming here for years and the quality is always 5/5! Small mom and pop shop where you will mostly always find the owners taking your order and making your food. The chicken here is delicious definitely recommend!! Tacos are big and come with grilled onions. The authentic taste is always there and food is made to order and is hot off the grill! The salsas are so good and restaurant is always clean. Only bummer is they got rid of their salsa/condiment bar which used to be always fully stocked.

This is a great place for tacos. Service is quick and the place is clean. The portions are generous and it's great to have the extra lemon, radishes, and the tacos topped with sautéed onions which make a nice contrast with the spice of the salsa. The area has many taco places but this is one of the best in my opinion.

My family and I love ordering from Taqueria el Flaco. It's a small hole-in-the-wall shop on a rather busy street. The prices are reasonable, and the service is great. The older lady that answers the phone is super friendly and great at her job! The older cook is consistently always amazing. Have been coming here for 3 years and they have always been kind to me and my folks. I usually get the carnitas tacos (best in Riverside, arguably the best in the IE) or the carnitas wet burrito. read more

This is my favorite taco place. I used to work across the street from them and would visit often. Their menu is simple. It's a good size sitting area inside. Nothing fancy. Great Mexican aroma. Usually something on t.v. in Spanish and play Spanish music. The owners are humble and nice. You phone your orders in. Their salsa is fresh and delicious. Pozole is bomb. If you like grilled onions and jalapenos, remember to ask for them (Wink). read more

These tacos disgusting!!!!! The tortillas are not home made and are dripping in oil. The meat is boiled prior to being warmed on the flattop, which a reason the asada has no flavor. I have no idea who is giving this place 5 stars but if anyone knows Tacos this place is anything but 5. read more

We recently moved out of riverside and miss this taco place so much. It was out to-go taco spot. Always nice and friendly and the food and was always so good. The tacos, the quesadillas with the hand made tortillas and the pozole were always our to gos. We still talk about this place cause we haven't found a taco place yet here in Anaheim lol so we definitely recommend it! 10 stars for the two women who are always there working hard and making our experience a great one. We miss the tacos! read more

We heard about this place from some people on Facebook so I thought I give it a try. Service was great - hence the 3rd star. The asada meat did not have a lot of flavor and the red chili sauce they put on top killed any flavor they might've had. The pastor meat was very tough. Of all of the 3 meats we tried we agreed the pollo was the best tasting. Suggestion - add your own salsa/chili at the salsa bar. Overall, I probably wouldn't return, my husband said he'd like to come back to try a chicken burrito. read more

Finally a place with real horchata ! Not too sweet, not watered down, just perfectly refreshing for the I.E. heat. The restaurant had great tacos as well! Recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite that is well priced. read more

Stopped here while running an errand the place was clean and neat there was 1 tv with nothing on. We had the menudo and the posole. It was in the early afternoon so we didn't expect any if not the bottom of the pot. To our surprise they had both. The posole was good, good amount of chili it was served with store bought tortilla chips I had the menudo , I had to really fix it. It needed salt, chili, lots of onion (that's me) lots of lime and oregano. Mine came with tortillas your average nothing special corn tortillas. Plus they didn't ask me if I wanted flour or corn they assumed I looked like I might like corn. I might liked to have been asked. We did have 1 carne asada Taco each . They were ok... I've had a lot better. Restrooms were very clean . Parking was ample . read more

Outstanding. Every aspect from beginning to end was great. I called in the order was told 10 minutes. As I walked they were boxing as I arrived. I did order a buche taco because everything smelled so good. Cannot wait to try their posole and menudo. We ordered a cabeza, pollo, asade and bean burritos. All a good balance of meat, beans and rice. They all had a kick too. The perfect balance of spices that complimented the dish but your mouth wasn't on fire. I am disappointed that I am not 16 so I could eat more. Great food and service. I will definitely be back. read more

Found this place at Yelp . A warm restaurant where you get AWESOME FRESH food. TACOS ARE SUPERB!!! Chicken pork and beef Good flavorful meats !!! Caramelized onions!! BURRITOS ARE GREAT TOOO!!! The owner and His wife cook at serve there 90%.. Very nice people.. Will choose this place over all the big restaurants !!! Simple but Fabulously Good food!! read more

Soooo good and so fresh. My friend got them catered for her baby shower and they were so good my boyfriend and I had to come after and get more tacos later. We had the asada tacos and an asada burrito. Definitely the best taco shop in Riverside! read more

If you're in the mood for tacos, this place is definitely worth checking out. Their salsa bar has the most flavorful sauces. Not too spicy but still delicious. Very clean restaurant, definitely more modern but the chicken tacos did not fail to disappoint. read more

Their food is so good I wish more people knew about this place! The tortas are really good, their quesadillas are bomb you can ask for the homemade corn tortilla and man that hits the spot! The pickled carrots/jalapeños are made in house and are the best I've ever had! Saturday and Sunday they serve menudo and I love it! Even their grilled onions and jalapeños are amazing just make sure you ask for them(: not to mention the service is great! Every time I'm there the lady that rings me up is always happy and never ever rude. My coworkers and family come here all the time cause we love it there! read more

I tried Taqueria el Flaco on Sunday with a friend and it was the best decision we made that day. She tried Buche and asada and I had asada and pastor. She loved the buche and if you know of buche it isn't good just anywhere and I loved the pastor tacos. I typically get pastor at taco spot and again it isn't good anywhere you go. The meats we tried were all so tasty and the tacos come with grilled onions which was a plus!...all of the staff members were super friendly and the restaurant is really clean. read more

I was really excited to try this place because of the rave reviews but was kind of disappointed. I give three stars for the kind lady who helped us and the nice service. I went in on a taco Tuesday, each taco 1.15. Ended up ordering 9 carne asada tacos to believe that the tacos were just okay. The meat didn't really taste fresh or flavorful at all. The size and amount of food was good. Just the flavor was missing. The salsa was good, so were the chiles en vinaigre. The hunt for the best taco spot in the IE continues. read more

Staff was great, you could tell they take pride in and actually enjoy the food that's made. We had Tacos burritos quesadilla and posole, everything was fantastic! Im not sure if I just have really high expectations for tacos because I'm from Santa Ana, but this place is just okay. I really like their horchata and their service was good but their Asada tacos didn't taste great and the color of the meat was almost grey it wasn't chared how tacos usually are. Overall, decent but not great like the reviews on here state. read more

I did hog up the Dame Mas to myself. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere for a relaxing dinner. I recommend ordering the bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with crab meat; it's the best. We loved the food and the drinks. I also recommend the Black Widow, a very good drink to end our dinner date.

The flavor was bland and ate watery. My sister ordered tortilla soup and she didn't like it. There was no broth, and too many veges and cheese.

And we also got their wet supreme burrito mojado, with the mole sauce all over it Also tried their agua fresca, loved the cucumber and lime flavor! Great size for two to share, and we had a blast just eating and enjoying the sights laid out to see. Their pickled onions got a spicy kick to it! I loved the added crunch instead of just having the typical hot salsa. Service was great, with the waiters and waitresses checking in on us every now and then, and I liked that we pay first then eat, so we just leave after we're done! Excellent experience as the weather was perfect too, the outdoor seating has some mosquitoes but be sure to go when it's not molting hot outside! After food we got to go on a photo spree and it was wonderful.

For example, last time we brunched here, I got the waffle and it was phenomenal.

Their coffee, tea, and baked goods are fantastic, but the main reason I love this place is because it's very cozy and the perfect place to read, study, catch up with a friend, or go on a date. They have a special, themed menu that changes every month. There is almost always seating available. They have a small book exchange, often sell local art, have cute merch, and just opened up a bakery right next door with extra seating. I'm kind of a snobbish third-wave coffee person and although this place isn't trying to be that way, it still is my favorite spot because of the overall vibe, how genuinely kind and down to earth the baristas are, and how comfortable it is. A lot of coffee shops are so brightly lit and trying to be hipster still in 2026, but this place is just kind of homey and the classic cozy coffee shop we all want to go to. The restaurant was packed, and it actually surprised me because I don't usually see that many people at restaurants in Riverside. The energy inside felt lively but still comfortable. One of my favorite parts was the fresh tortillas. They come out hot and fresh from the oven, and you can literally watch them being made right in front of you, which made it even better. And the best part is they're free. We ordered the carne fajitas and chile relleno. The fajitas were incredible, the meat was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, with that perfect smoky sear that comes from being cooked fresh on a hot skillet. Everything came out sizzling and stayed flavorful with every bite. The chile relleno was also really good, with a nice balance of savory and slightly creamy filling that paired well with the sauce. It was actually my first time trying fajitas, and I can confidently say I'll be ordering them again the next time I come back. My grandmother got the chicken fajitas but there were no bell peppers with it, just onions. The tamale was mid. My Dad and myself ordered a basic bean and cheese burrito. I did not like the fact that it wasn't mentioned that the beans are made with bacon until AFTER we received our food! My dad doesn't eat meat and the rice is made with chicken as well. The server did bring him something else but this needs to be stated on the menu or upon ordering! We were sat right next to where they made the tortillas and can see them being made since they had glass windows around it. However, there was one gentleman that was making tortillas who was on his cell phone texting or whatever CONSTANTLY at the same time while doing this. He had a glove on one hand and no glove on the other, and was touching the tortilla dough.....We all know how dirty a cell phone is! And what made it worse is at one point he itched the inside of his nose with his finger, and didn't even wash his hands or have gloves on after that. Definitely made my stomach turn and what caused me to go and write this review. I suggest a camera be placed at the tortilla station, add the notes about bacon in the beans and chicken in the rice, and add bell peppers to the fajitas. Also, maybe give the option of meatless beans and rice for the non-meat eaters

First time here. I got the Torta de Carnitas and my brother got the burrito de pastor and they were bomb. Its a little pricy but so worth it. It's been a while since we had some good mexican food. Definitely coming back. read more
