OK, it was literally 104F that day and roasting and we were craving some authentic Mexican cuisine and we definitely got it here. The air conditioner could barely keep up with the high temperatures, but the service was fast and we left with two gigantic and delicious burritos. The chips were fresh and the burritos were delicious. We don't know much about Mexican cuisine, but the flavors were wonderful, the chicken was tender and spicy and the beans were great as well. This was a great find. They have just opened at the corner of Deshutes and Columbia Center. The shop is cute and family owned and run. The food is authentic and true to its roots. Large portions, tasty sides, and awesome salsa and hot sauce. Definitely the best we have had in Richland or Kennewick. We went through the drive through and the wait was a little over ten minutes (Monday, 5 pm) We ordered a California burrito, chicken enchilada plate and a side of chips and salsa. The enchilada plate was the best in town! The chicken wasn't dry. The ratio of tortilla/meat/red sauce was perfection. The beans and rice are everything you hoped they would be. The red sauce itself was dark and rich with flavor. The California burrito was 10/10! Crispy French fries, nice flavorful pico, and perfectly seasoned asada. This place is our new go to!! read more

I just tried this place! I grew up in California and I'm a little judgmental when it comes to Mexican food, so I was hopeful when I went after reading the positive reviews. I ordered an asada burrito with guacamole through their drive through. It was quick, but the burrito was hot and fresh! Someone else's review had said the asada was bland; I think I have to agree. It definitely lacked flavor. I've had EXCELLENT carne asada at other taquerias (sadly, none in the Tri Cities), and I don't think I'd get the asada here again. On the positive side, it didn't have a BAD flavor, and I never got any weird fatty and/or gristly bites--every piece was tender and well cooked. The rice and beans were a little on the bland side as well, but FAR from the worst I've had. The tortilla was perfect and the portion size generous. I actually think this is the best Mexican food I've had since moving to TC (way better than Chapala), so 3 stars is not saying it's BAD. It's technically a passing grade--think C+. Definitely not a flunking grade. I think it's definitely worth trying more on their menu, especially since I find burritos aren't the BEST way to measure the quality of a Mexican restaurant. I want to try their tacos, chile relleno, and nachos in the future, maybe with their carnitas or barbacoa. If I go again, I'll add an updated review with the other things I try! read more

We found this place on Yelp and went there on a road trip from Eastern WA to the Portland area. Food was fantastic and filled us up. Good selection of authentic Mexican food. This food is absolutely beautiful. We stopped here on our way to Portland and we're so glad we did! We have both eaten chili Quiles multiple times in our life. Not one holds a candle to this place! The pure complexity of the red sauce with something like we've never had before. Very nice young lady who delivered our food to us offered us four salsas and all of them were delicious! The place was spotless and you could tell they take a lot of pride in what they do. And rightfully so! I have been a loyal customer ever since they took over this location from Chapala Express. They have always had the best customer service and best food. I am an office manager and when my office has special events I always have ordered from them "Shop Local". Our office is not small either. My Staff and I frequent this location a few time a week for drive through lunch. I always get the same thing for years, "Taco Salad, No shell, No Rice and no beans" The friendly face (guy) at the window knew my order by heart and would always say "The spicy salsa, Right?" It was always $9 and I would always tip $1. The Cook was always a very nice older woman. Today was the opposite experience. I placed my order as I always have. There was a new (gal) Cynthia at the window. She took my payment for $9 and I gave her $1 tip. She then closed the door. I did receive my order promptly but when she gave it to me it was in a Styrofoam container 1/4 of the size I have always received. She closed the door. I was a bit confused and waited for her to open the window. I explained what I have always received and she got the cook who spoke Spanish (not the original older lady) and Cynthia said the cook said that was what I get for the same $ now. I told Cynthia this was terrible customer service and I was not happy and she was losing a loyal customer. She shrugged her shoulders and said "Sorry, I just work here. I am not the cook." The one star is missing because orders of chips and salsa aren't like other places as the salsa is green with avocados in it and lacks flavor. Quite the little treasure to find! We stopped by this place on a whim, and discovered our new favorite Mexican restaurant! The best enchiladas I have ever had! You can taste that each dish is made from fresh, real ingredients and the food is authentic. Real cojita cheese is used and the enchilada sauce tasted homemade, it was so delicious!
