Went in for dinner solo with plans to sit at the bar, the bar was rather full due to the World Cup game happening. I was able to get a table for myself, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the whole experience was very fun and cool. The restaurant was very laid back but still served quality food and drinks. After finishing my food I sat at the bar for another drink, bar tenders were incredibly talkative and friendly, even though I was the only one at the bar they weren't over attentive to me and just talked with me like I was a regular. Taquería Jalisco is an absolute standout. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming staff that makes you feel right at home. The service is friendly, attentive, and genuinely inviting--something that really elevates the whole experience. The birria tacos are a must-order. Crispy, cheesy, and packed with tender, flavorful meat, plus that rich consommé for dipping--it's everything you want and more. You can tell the food is made fresh and with care. Another thing that really impressed me was how clean and well-kept everything is. The dining area, counters, and overall space are spotless, which just adds to the comfort of eating there. I daydream about this place. I was never a taco person and this restaurant opened my eyes to GOOD tacos. First off, the interior is absolutely gorgeous, between the decor and the natural sunlight. The standouts were the aguachile and the drinks! The aguachile was so flavorful but I wish it had more shrimp, it was mostly cucumber. The service could've been much better, we didn't seem to have a clear server and had to flag down people to get things. The tacos were definitely a disappointment, making any flavor. The enchiladas were fine, I'd get them again. The beef lengua was very dry and bland. The other location definitely has better tacos but this location is much prettier as far as decor. read more

Orient Heights is quickly becoming THE spot in East Boston -- and I have to say, it's largely thanks to the new location of Taqueria Jalisco. I've been a few times already, and I think this might be my new go-to in the area. The first thing that caught my eye on my first visit was their vibrant wall of Jarritos. It's bright, nostalgic (for me), and just clever décor. They serve wine, beer, and cocktails. My friend tried one of their guava drinks -- if you like something sweet and fruity, I highly recommend it. The tamales app is fire. The menudo (tripe soup) was tender and comforting, and the mole enchiladas were also excellent. The birria tacos seem to be a crowd favorite. And you cannot skip dessert. They have a rich, dense cookie dessert layered with lemon creme-- it is perfect for sharing, and the churros are made fresh. The staff is super friendly -- attentive, considerate, and genuinely welcoming. Parking hasn't been an issue, and it's conveniently close to the Blue Line. My wife was feeling sick and wanted to surprise her with some breakfast. Ordered 2 burritos and 1 Orange juice . Upon ordering, I asked to make sure that the chilaquiles burrito did NOT have chicken. The woman on the phone said, of course not. (See picture that does not have chicken) but I also know from previous experience that they put chicken in it, even though it's not on the menu. Go to pick up my order and the orange juice is filled halfway. They say.. oh that's the amount we give (I was there last week and I got a full cup to go) Asked for sauce on the side, and they said no, it wouldn't taste right with it on the side. I go home, and the burrito has chicken in it. I drive back and the woman tells me "that will be 13.00" I tell her that I asked without chicken just like the menu has it. Mentions nothing about chicken. She gives me an attitude, takes back the other burrito (with the chicken), and says "just this one time we will do it". I was really disappointed in the response that I received especially when we go to Jalisco often and I'm just asking for my order to be correct. I paid paying for $40 for 2 burritos, and a drink with a tip. No apologies, just that we inconvenienced them with our order. I come home and the new order is cold and looks like this (see picture) This is very disappointing as my wife and I have been to this establishment many times since opening. We know that times are tough with rising food cost but being kind to customers costs $0 and will get you more future business. I'm originally from Arizona and moved to Massachusetts in 2023 and into the Orient Heights about two years ago and one of the biggest things I missed from Arizona is good Mexican food. I have tried a lot of different Mexican places around Massachusetts and they've been fairly disappointing. When Taqueria Jalisco opened up, I was really excited to try it because the other location had such great reviews and was within walking distance. I was so impressed. Taqueria Jalisco strikes the perfect balance between traditional food and fun, creative upscale food you might get from a trendy restaurant. I can get amazing birria tacos and menudo or concha french toast and a mimosa flight. I can have a nice comforting dinner or head over in the morning to finish off a whole mimosa flight with some concha french toast for a fun brunch. It's absolutely perfect and scratches the itch I've been missing since I moved. The staff is always kind and we've always had excellent service. Even if I'm just grabbing a couple burritos to-go on my walk back to my house from the station, the staff is always cheerful and makes a point of inviting us back. Couldn't be happier to live near this wonderful restaurant, it's brought great things to the Orient Heights neighborhood. read more

This place is amazing. I used to live in eastie and they opened up this second location. I now live 30-40 min away and I go out of my way to eat at their new location. I love the birria tacos. I always get them, I should probably try something else because everything else looks good. Service has always been good. The staff is attentive and nice. When they said they'd open a second location, I thought it be an average looking spot but they really crushed it with the decor. Feels really fun in there and bright. Wish the drinks were a bit better but hopefully they'll get in their groove. read more

Stopped in for a drink and app. Great atmosphere, lively, happy everyone working there was smiling and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I had the rum punch with chips and salsa. It was probably the best rum punch I've had and I have traveled all over the Caribbean. Chips were great and made on the premises the salsa had just the right amount of heat. I genuinely don't get the hype. The place was PACKED at 10pm on a Friday night to the point we couldn't even wait inside. There were 2 seats at the bar or a 6 top high top shared table. We opted to share a table with others. It took a while to get menus and place a drink order. Our server had zero personality and was a bit rude. We ordered chips and salsa to start for $6. A basket of warm freshly made tortilla chips and maybe 1/4c of liquid salsa arrived at the table. I asked if refills were an option and was told we would have to make a separate order to get more. Disappointing but ok. We then ordered 2 burritos. Mine came out accurately but my husbands was wrong. The server then told us WE WERE WRONG. Girl wut?! The burrito was missing half the ingredients listed on the menu so she took it back to the kitchen stating "they won't believe me if I don't show them." Umm ok but yes please take it because he didn't want it in the first place. Then the right burrito came back 20 minutes later, after I was done eating my entire meal, so he could finally eat his. The burritos were poorly rolled and comprised of 90% rice. My husband and I lived in Puerto Vallarta Jalisco for many years. I don't know what part of Jalisco this restaurant is representing, but it was a major disappointment. To top it all off, damn near $80 for 2 burritos, 2 sodas and a basket of chips and salsa is W I L D. The server's attitude was wild and the food was subpar. Parking is a nightmare in this area. Do yourself a favor and find a better place to get Mexican food. read more

My husband and I had a late lunch on Saturday at Jalisco. It was excellent. We sat at the bar. We both started with delicious margaritas and chicken nachos. The nachos were hot cheesy, delicious and the chicken was so tasty. I had the birria tacos, they were to die for. My husband had the birria chimichanga, he loved it. Our bartender, Raphael, was friendly and attentive, he made a great drink. The restaurant itself is clean and beautiful. We will be returning, we loved it. read more

The best taqueria I have ever been too. My third time to the new restaurant and have been to the other one many times too. The ambiance of the new taqueria is incredible with a fresh and bright vibe. Breakfast menu looks great but it was 1 pm on a saturday so we went for lunch. In my opinion the best tacos in Boston and the Birria tacos are the best too. Got chips and salsa to start with the queso fundido con chorizo which was excellent. Used the extra chips to dip into the queso fundido which comes with flour tortillas. We all had tacos which come with 3 sauces. Presentation is outstanding too like a high end mexican restaurant not a taqueria, It is not a huge place and can get crowded at times but we got the only booth that was left. Excellent service and the food came out quickly. They answered all our questions as we had curious friends with us about the menu. You have to pay for chips and salsa. Ok, no problem but it was very sweet. Margarita was good but a little pricey at $15 for a small marg on the rocks. Strong pour and good taste though. Went with the safe bet chicken fajitas which were good. A lot of people here. Service and ambiance was good. Recommend not buying chips and salsa. Super unfortunate time tonight at Jaliscos. We live down the street and have gone 11-12 times as a family since they opened. Food is great and the place is beautiful. But the interaction today was crazy. Family came in for dinner and it was busy which is awesome so they ordered to go. Right away two big tables opened up and wife asked the host if it would be ok to stay and dine in. The hostess said absolutely. Within a few minutes we realized maybe this was not the best decision as the rest of waitstaff turned openly hostile it was crazy. We could have just gone home it was not a big deal they could have said no. We are not sure what the problem was or why they turned that hostility at use for staying. We asked at end and hostess apologized and I believe her but it was crazy. Super super uncomfortable. And it was absolutely not a big deal if they had said no. Maybe they didn't want another table and we totally understand that. I really want to support this place. It's super unfortunate. read more
