Love this spot for shrimp tacos!! Staff is great and there is limited seating so be mindful of that. On this day we had open seating on a week day in the evening. Food came out quickly and we devoured it. We both ordered the same thing so only one was picture. Definitely recommend the shrimp tacos and the chips and salsa was good too! We will definitely come back when in the area.
Super disappointed, my husband ordered takeout. I got a shrimp taco and a fried fish taco and ordered without any type of produce or vegetables because of the Cyclospora outbreak. Both tacos came with cilantro and did not have any cream sauce which I was wanting. I thought I could rub off cilantro and just eat fish and shrimp. I decided not to take the chance and threw it all away.
I was staying at a hotel nearby and was craving some carne asada fries and found birria fries instead! So I doordashed some! In hindsight it sounded good but I forgot how birria is made and didn't realize it would make the fries all soggy. I appreciate the staff accommodating to my avocado allergy and removing the guac and beans (just don't like beans) for me but I wish I had known there were going to be tomatoes in them since it wasn't listed in the description, I would have requested no tomatoes too. But it was good! I just wanted some crunchy fries! My boyfriend loved his taquitos and devoured it all. Would order from this place again! Food was hot and fresh.
I work literally down the street and this place has the best food and fastest way to order and pick up on DoorDash. The portion is huge, fresh and delicious and I've been ordering at least once a week sometimes even two. Every time I order something I always have to get the 3 X Chiles Toreados (Fried, Salted & Blistered Green Pepper) and coke to wash it all down. They really give a lot of meat and I'm full by eating half of the Carnitas Plate Combination or even the shrimp burrito. I've been ordering Taqueria Luna at least two or three times a week ,since I work down the street and their pickup with Doordash is super efficient for me because I can pre order a certain time before my lunch time start, and when I clocked out the food is ready. Services is amazing, and I know I can just cut the line to grab my food but I rather not be that doordash guest so I just wait in the line I'm not in the rush anyways. Keep in mind, no many what days it is, this place is pack and the seating area is limited but they do have outdoor seating, I just normally pick up my food and eat at my work place, we have a backyard patio too. I haven't got sick of eating here yet, I've been eating here almost every week since it's right there and they always have something for me. Their chilies toreadors are my favorite thing to get along with all my meals, its the perfect amount of spicy and sometimes I bring my own habenro hot sauce from hot if I really want to burn. Huge portion five big gigantic shrimp was delicious. Shrimp is not overcooked. Has that crunch ,super fresh and lovethe three jalapeño tornado with my dishes.10 out of 10 this is my second day in a row ordering from this place. Sorry I couldn't name every picture, It was a collection of all the lunch meals I have from them.
Great place for quick Mexican food. It's a small place with some seating inside but not much. They do have a patio outside with plenty of tables and chairs. The staff is super sweet and the food is delicious. Don't forget to wash it all down with a Mexican Coke.
Super solid taqueria on a cozy corner of del mar. Fun vibes, but not over the top. Burritos are great. Stuffed, and full of flavor. Wrapped in a stretchy flour tortilla fresh off the grill. Workers were solid, too. Getting orders handled with a smile. The cooks are back there running and gunning with a semi open kitchen concept. Definitely a spot to go to time and again
I walked by this quaint establishment earlier in the morning and decided to give them a try for dinner. I called and spoke with Roxy, she took out to go order. We ordered two chicken hard shell tacos and a birria (beef) quesadilla. We wanted onion and cilantro in everything. I arrived 7 minutes later our food was ready and waiting. The tacos were perfectly crispy. My quesadilla was perfectly crispy and a nice meat to cheese ratio. The consommé was flavorful. I would definitely go back. Great service and foods
Wow!!!! 9.5/10 Cali breakfast burrito. Super filling, tasty and delicious. Every bite had a a little bit of everything. Green and orange salsa were super good too. Would be 10/10 if the potatoes were crispy, just to add some additional texture. Would recommend.

Another experience in my hunt for the best breakfast burritos in the San Clemente Tri-State area (San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan). I tried multiple times to try Luna's BB in the previous location that used to be a KFC and Adolfo's (a YUM of the past). I never could figure out when they were open. Glad they settled on Del Mar. Ok, I made it here and it was open in their new location that used to be a sushi place. Didn't smell like fish, so that's good. I think this is a good location for them. Should stay busy. After reviewing the menu on the wall behind the counter, I decided on a Cali Breakfast Burrito. Eggs. Potatoes. Bacon. Avocado. Cheese. Sounds like the perfect combo. I grabbed a can of Diet Coke to enjoy while I weighted for the BB to be assembled and cooked. It's a small place with a couple of tables. Plan on take out if you are heading here. I was handed a bag with a very heavy breakfast burrito, a couple salsas and napkins. At home I cut that baby open and put 1/2 in the fridge for the next day. Good choice. The burrito was good looking, everything was nicely cooked and mixed well. My big disappointment was that the tortilla was not grilled. That is a pet peeve of mine and is required for a 4 or 5 star burrito. Bummer. The salsas were a green and a red that was a bit creamy or thick. The green was very watery and not much taste. The red was delicious and I wish I had more for the second half I had the following day. I can't define the taste, but it was good! All in all it was very good and top 15 in the tri state area. I'm will to again to try it out and see if they will grill my tortilla next time. Go. Eat Pretty Darn Good. HAVE FUN!!!

My fiancé got the chicken quesadilla and I got the 2 taco combo with rice and beans. The carnitas and fish tacos were delicious and the rice and beans were so flavorful. My fiancé loved his order as well and we both agreed the portions were huge - we were stuffed! Excellent price and service. Happy to have this place nearby.

I love the tortillas on my burritos to have a nice crisp to it and these hit that mark. Breakfast burrito (with carne asada) was pretty solid, I was able to save half and eat the rest for later. They have young staff members that are very attentive and professional. Parking in the area is not the easiest but that's typical with this area. read more

Me and my bf googled late night bites, this restaurant came up. We have eaten here 3 times over the last two weeks! Everything is delicious! I would recommend this place for lunch and dinner. There's always a line but it goes fast. 7/5 Growing up, Me and my family would go to LA Siesta 2 times a week.. The servers, the staff and restaurant was such a staple in SC. I walked by this quaint establishment earlier in the morning and decided to give them a try for dinner. I called and spoke with Roxy, she took out to go order. Stop scrolling and place your order! After a long day of traveling, all I wanted was a quick dinner. I placed an order via Uber Eats for: 5 rolled tacos - shredded beef I asked for the crème and cheese on the side Requested a side of salsa Order of chips and salsa The food arrived quickly and I was so pleased to find a beautifully put together order. Rolled tacos had the Oaxaca cheese and creme on the side, as I requested. They were carefully plated and not overly messy. Crispy, not soggy at all. Great flavor. Good portion. I was so impressed that they included not one, not two, but FOUR salsas to choose from for my order. I can't tell you how many times I've paid for sides of salsa that aren't included when takeout orders come from other restaurants. Taqueria Luna included them along with my other items. This made my night !! It's such a small thing, but it was enough for me to write a yelp review. Food arrived quickly and was warm. Neatly packaged & fresh. I will 100% be ordering again. My ideal breakfast was just found! Ordered an egg, potato, cheese and pico burrito and it definitely is now my favorite! Besides the deliciousness of my burrito I had to have chips, spicy cream salsa, and a Diet Coke which all hit the spot when you are looking for that comfort breakfast. Prices are good considering how big the burritos are. I can make two meals out of one burrito, score. Service was great and my food was prepared to order and timely. Place is cute and has the right amount of ambiance looking out at Del Mar, a couple of tables inside and then plenty of space outside. Generally a good taqueria! The carnitas were juicy, tender, and meaty with great flavor. Fish tacos were grilled but served with a spicy salsa so request to hold it unless you like a small kick. A nice place for a quick meal and prices were fair considering the larger taco portion. read more

Came in on a Saturday morning and got the carne asada burrito wet and hubby got chicken burrito wet. $13.99 and the burritos are huge easily could be shared good moist and delicious. Chips were stale but all is good. Small seating for only 2 tables inside but tables outside along wall . Service good! read more

It's a small restaurant in a prime downtown location with only a couple of tables inside. The service was friendly and food out came out quickly. My husband had the carne asado tacos, but he said it lacked flavor. My shrimp and fish tacos were also okay, but the salsa helped. I'm normally used to a salsa bar where you can choose your toppings, and they did not have that. read more
This place is really good guys! I got birria tacos with beans and rice and I don't think I've ever had such good birria before...what I liked was that they put a lot of what looks like roast in the tacos with the usual onions and cilantro. Most places hardly put anything inside, this place does not skimp! It's enough to share for sure. Salsa is amazing as well. People here are friendly too. Think if you're getting Mexican food, try it out, I'm pretty sure you'll end up like me, adding this on the favorites list. read more
Very tasty tacos in the heart of downtown San Clemente. I would recommend the Carnitas and Al Pastor tacos as both are very tasty. Have not tried the fish or shrimp tacos but lots of folks were ordering them. They are a little pricey but at least they are full size tacos and not the 1 biters from king taco in LA. Service is friendly and they serve free chips and salsa. Will come back for the fish and shrimp tacos next time. read more

We ordered the taco shells and it was great, I would say the best taco in town!!! Then we ordered the birria quesadilla combo and let me tell you it was also the best birria quesadilla in town ! It comes with a consume that is hot and delicious, my husband ordered a wet burrito and the sauce on that is delicious as well! We know the owner Tommy as he used to work at La siesta and he opened this Taqueria Luna for now 3-4 weeks ago! Prices are good and the food is wonderful! So worth it to come here especially on taco Tuesday as their tacos are $2/each! You won't be let down! read more

Excited to have this more affordable mexican food spot within walking distance on del mar now. Sometimes I just want to be able grab some quick food without having to spend $100 plus they are open late. Same group of owners/workers that are known and loved by San Clemente from previous restaurants such as Taqueria Adolfo's & La Siesta. Our first visit at this new location we grabbed a shrimp taco, birria taco, fish taco, lengua taco and a bean and cheese burrito. All the tacos & burrito were delicious, the lengua taco really surprised me at how tender and flavorful it was. I'm usually apprehensive about lengua but this was so good! Staff was really friendly and helpful too. We can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. read more
