I have all good things to say when it comes to this Taqueria. Let me first tell you about the breakfast burritos that are made with fresh grilled potatoes, eggs, cheese and your choice of meat and salsa- I opt for the bacon most of the time (FYI). Now to tell you about the Taqueria itself- seats probably about 20 or so, has a salsa bar, employees are nice, it's clean, serves beer and food is made to order- no tossing potatoes in the microwave here. For lunch I do not venture much so I always get tacos or burritos both are good and if I did have to choose it would be a burrito. Sometimes after I eat a burrito I just don't feel like working anymore, could there be something in the burrito causing that?? Cause I just get these relaxed feelings and start to think about having a cold one while relaxing for the rest of the day. Man, maybe it's what keeps me coming back. I'm seriously so disappointed in the burrito it wasn't at ALL what I was expecting here is why. 1. The burrito is SO SMALL seriously SO SMALL for the price of 6$ I'm so confused! It's tiny!!! 2. There's hardly any meat in it :( idk if I just had a bad burrito for the day or if its like that normally??? 3. Eh? Nothing new, nothing exciting, just run of the mill old standbys. It was fine but there is much much better Mexican food out there. I went with my husband and teen daughter and none of us finished their food. It was just blah. The service was fine but the wait was awkward. There was a list by the door to add your name with the idea you would be called in the order it was written but that isn't how it worked. The man in charge would just come up to groups and say "ok, you, come this way". As those of us with our names on the list began to grumble a nice lady stood up and showed the list to the man seating people and his response was "oh, ok". Really no reason to return. It's possible that going to Taqueria Modesto on $1 Taco Tuesdays was a mistake. Despite trying every single salsa they had at the salsa bar and trying the majority of the different tacos available, the flavors were lacking. I didn't like a single salsa. The tacos were just okay here and I love tacos. Even though I topped the tacos with the onion cilantro mixture and lime juice, nothing tasted quite fresh or rich in flavor. Our first time eating at the taqueria. It was dollar taco day, for certain types of meats. We chose carnitas. The first thing we noticed is that it had a weird smell, reminding us if dog food (no Im not saying that's what it was, just the scent...to us). Then we each took a bite and it was over. We ended up throwing all 6 tacos in the trash. I've heard lots of good things about this place. It wasn't a good experience for us. read more

We ordered tacos de asada and al pastor which were pretty good. We also ordered sopes, super nachos de asada, mixed Fajitas, and enchiladas de pollo (Chicken). My two favorite dishes from this place were the tacos and the sopes. Everything else was meh. The fajitas didn't have any salt or seasoning. The avocado they served with the fajitas were brown and went bad. The enchiladas weren't great either and also packed flavor. When I tried the super nachos, they topped it off with the same avocado, which made the nachos taste terrible. I would probably come back for the tacos, but it's a slim chance. read more

We love this Taqueria. Tuesday and Tuesday street tacos are just $1. Fridays fish tacos are $2. Great prices overall for good food. Personal favorites of mine are the Nacho super fries with asada. So amazingly yummy. The super shrimp tacos are spicy and delicious. Their super burritos are huge! Not a fan of lettuce in them so I get it without. This is the best taco shop in town imo. Service is great! Always friendly and you can tell the staff are busting their butts to get food out quickly. One time they forgot my daughter's quesadilla and came after us but we had already gotten into our car. When we got home I called and they apologized. Offered to refund us then and there or to come back and pick it up and they would still refund us. I took the refund but skipped going back to pick it up. Next time we went there they remember us (after I ordered another quesadilla for the baby) and gave it to us for free as another way of saying how sorry they were for forgetting to put it in our bag. I have been to this location three times and I was surprised to have walked in with a new renovation and seating arrangement! They have many more tables to accommodate their customers and they moved their sauces and toppings to the front, which is nice. They have $1 tacos (Asada, Pastor, and Pollo) every Tuesday and Thursdays. I recommend getting the pastor. The asada is always bland and dry for me and the chicken didn't have much flavor. I really enjoy the pastor since it has a lot of flavor. Altbough, one downside is that the pastor tacos are VERY oily to the point of making the tortillas drenched in it. The tacos here are decently big and they give you a very generous amount of meat for each taco. They top it with onions, cilantro, and red salsa. The workers here are very fast and always on top of everything. Definitely worth a try here. read more

Stopped in for quick lunch here yesterday when I had a hankering for tacos. I ordered three tacos with carne asada and a side of chips/salsa. I'm a little disappointed that the chips cost $2.50! Most taquerias give a side of chips for free/give unlimited chips and salsa!! Their salsa, admittedly, is VERY, very good -- each one I tried was flavorful and SPICY delicious-ness. The tacos were also incredibly tasty -- meat was tender, juicy, seasoned. Lots of cilantro and onions on top -- three tacos were more than enough to satisfy! Really looking forward to coming when they offer $1 tacos -- practically a steal!! Just came here and ordered 4 fish tacos and two shrimp cecviche tostadas with two drinks and spent $32. The money I spent does not even come close to match the quality of food I left with. First off after we ordered and sat down, it was super hot in the establishment, prob 85-90 degrees, we asked the cashier if they could turn the a/c on and she informed is that it was on. I can deal with the heat, what really got to me was that there were so many flies attacking us we had to ask for our food to go. There must have been literally over 40-50 flies in the window. when I got our food home I was immediately disappointed about the portion size. I asked how big the fish tacos were before I even ordered them, the cashier said they were normal sized tacos...ummm no, these are mini tacos and they are almost $4 each. There was no flavor to the tacos, super bland and they use swai which has a really mushy texture and does not hold up well in tacos. The shrimp ceviche was also pretty skimpy but at least that tasted alright. Super disappointed becuase we passed this place by so many times and wanted to try it. The cashier however was really nice. Ill stick to crows landing for mexican food in this area from now on. This place is prob some of the worst mexican food Ive had in California. Def Wont be back. read more

I've been coming here for years. They must have hired a new girl. She was so rude she messed up my order and then argued with me about it. Never have an issue when anyone else is working. I ordered two bean and cheese burritos, 4 chicken tacos w/ everting and a separate chicken taco with no sauce. I get my order the separate taco is a different meat. I said no I wanted that to be a chicken taco, she argues with me saying I ordered that I tell her no I ordered a separate taco chicken taco. then she takes my bag and bring it back with no extra taco. I call to tell her and she is literally arguing with me saying I told her I didn't want the 4 tacos to have sauce and I can put sauce on myself. Like why would I pay for the extra taco and not want it. She has the worse customer service ever. read more

I came here to check out their taco tuesday/Thursday deal! Note, the fish tacos were not part of this deal. The person who took my order was really nice over the phone and at the register. It was also easy to find parking since they have their own parking lot. As for the tacos, I ordered five carne asada and they were pretty good. One thing I noticed is that they give you a lot of meat, which is a good problem to have! My tacos were overflowing and I was pretty full after eating them all. I also liked the salsa bar (though you have to ask for the sauce containers from them) and they had about 8+ different salsas when I came by. The tacos here are pretty good, but not the best in my opinion, but I will probably be back because this place is pretty easy to get to! read more

The food is great! Their customer service in person or/and over the phone is always pleasant. When ordering over the phone, my wait time is never more than 20 minutes. In person the wait time is not long at all. They have a forever customer. read more

Salsa trays are a bit messy and empty, found a long hair in my chips basket, noticed none of the girl employees were wearing any head gear to prevent hair from falling on food.
