New benches after remodel
Alex L.

Started coming here instead of our normal spot bc it was much closer and distance makes a difference when you're hangry. Prices weren't good to begin with but sometimes you have to pay for convenience. Tbh the food was just ok and when you crave a burrito, this was fast and relatively easy. Until their recent remodel in early 2025. Thought they were doing something spectacular like expanding to include a larger space next door or changing the layout so it can accommodate more seating or building out the kitchen to have a more expansive menu. When the doors open I was surprised to just see a facelift. You'll see a nicer counter, built-in benches to replace some tables, new paint, and a table in the back for self-service watered down salsa. Ordered my normal regular carne asada burrito and Al Pastor for the wife and was shocked to see the total coming to over $30. This is just for a plain burrito with beans, rice, and barely any meat. Not sure if they changed owners or not but the Al Pastor is now horrible. Wife spit out something with every bite bc it was so chewy and the meat looked and tasted unmarinated. Looked at my old post of their menu and compared the prices and noticed that things jumped up about $1.50-$2.00. What made it worse was that along with the price hike the quality went down. We may end up moving back to South SJ for better Mexican food or take a short flight to Jalisco next time bc we can't afford to eat here anymore.

Super Quesadilla (already devoured one half of it)

Taqueria Morgan Grill is hands down my go-to spot for amazing Mexican food! I prob come here once every week. I usually switch between the Super Chicken Quesadilla and the Super Burrito - both are packed with flavor and loaded with fillings. Then I get a Birria Taco on the side - it's rich, juicy, and so flavorful that it feels like the ultimate cherry on top. So goood! Service is always solid and ambiance of the place is nice. Super clean! The quality and taste are consistently excellent, and the portions are generous. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal!

Food was bomb! I think the prices are reasonable and service was quick. Only reason I didn't do 5 stars was because the Horchata was horrible. Stick to a bottled drink. Oh I also liked how they give free chips and salsa.

I'm ecstatic to have have found this restaurant as I'm in Morgan Hill quite often visiting my parents. I believe they may have recently changed ownership and name as the big sign above says Morgan Grill but their door and outdoor banner say El Ranchito Mexican Salvadorian Food. No matter the name, this was a five star for me based on the quality of food and friendliness. Husband and I were staring at the menu a while so a very friendly patron, who was with her family eating, made a suggestion to try one of the pupusas and said it was absolutely amazing. So I took her advice and ordered the Revuelta papusa which has refried beans, melted cheese and chicharrones which are little bits of pork rind. It sounds odd but omg it was so good! It was all homemade as we watched the young lady get out the masa/dough, stuff It with all that goodness and make it right there then fry it up! The carne asada regular taco was also quite delicious and one of the best carne asadas I've had in quite a while. My husband wanted something big to have leftovers so he opted for the Wet Burrito with both red and green salsa. This burrito was HUGE and was filled generously with a choice of meat (again the carne asada was the star), rice, beans, cheese, pico, sour cream, lettuce and avocado. Wow the green sauce was so good with the perfect spice! This indeed was huge enough for leftovers! I also ordered a Super Taco and Chicken Flautas meal to go for my parents and they loved it and were happy to have somewhere new they could try out. The atmosphere is very clean and had a nice warm feel as compared to other taquerias. The salsa bar was nice to have with an amazing roasted house salsa. 10/10 recommend!

Chilaquiles, green, with eggs

Friendly staff, clean restaurant, and good food. I ordered the green chilaquiles with eggs. The green sauce had good flavor and some heat. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the tortillas chips still had good texture. I would happily eat that dish anytime.

We've been on a Quesabirria Taco & Consommé Kick. Today we were down at Andy's Orchards picking up some freshly picked stone fruits. Afterwards, we stopped here to pick up some lunch. We had The Princess with us so I walked her around the parking lot while The Boss went inside to order. She said that service was good, but it was obvious that English was not his first language. Once we got our food, it took about ten minutes to find a park that we could eat at. This could have affected the food quality slightly but should not have made a critical difference. We ended up with: Quesabirria Taco Plate with Consommé - 3 - The tacos were loaded with meat, onions, cilantro and melted cheese. They were served with lime wedges, two types of salsa, and a cup of consommé. Everything was okay but nothing in particular stood out. The lid on the cup of Consommé was cracked in two places and came off as soon as we touched it. After that, it was a challenge to keep it from spilling while we found a park to eat at. Pork Tamale - 2 - Woefully disappointing. The masa was salty and the filling was dry. Chile Relleno Burrito - 3 - Advertised as Chile Relleno with Rice, Beans, Cheese, Sour Cream, Avocado & Pico. I could see the Chile, Rice, and Cheese. I could taste the Beans. The other three were either in miniscule amounts or missing in action. Additionally, the way the ingredients were laid out, the Chile was on one side and the rice on the other. The burrito was large enough that it was almost impossible to get all the flavors in one bite. e Tostada - 3 - Crispy Corn Tortilla, smeared with some beans, topped with chopped beef, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream and avocado wedges. There were so many ingredients, I didn't dare pick it up. Instead I broke off pieces and used as fork as well. The meat was on the drier side. I took a lime wedge from the quesabirria tacos and that helped. Horchata - 2 - We ordered a large Horchata to share. It was weak in flavor, low on ice. Because of all the high ratings, I'm going to write this off to an unlucky experience. We didn't hate our experience, but we're not likely to become repeat customers either.

I tried this place in 2024 and thought it was good. Stopped by on my way out of town for a regular carne asada burrito. Noticed it is now Salvadorian and Mexican food. I asked for light beans and rice and spicy red salsa. I was charged extra for the salsa even though salsa is offered for free at the self help area. The burrito was over $15!!! Had little meat and mostly rice and beans and a lot of pico de gallo and lettuce :( the meat was bland and poor quality- very chewy and had gristle. Definitely not the same experience and a total thumbs down, especially for the price.

Carne asada regular tacos

I was really craving some tacos, and this place satisfied my craving in the best way. I love their version of their street tacos. Or what they call regular tacos. It had two corn tortillas, which I'm assuming is because it might fall apart if you only had one. But I like how they toasted the tortilla ever so slightly That way it still say it's soft but it had a small amount of crunch to it. Very delicious. The service was also good. The gentleman who brought me my food asked if I wanted sauces and brought me two different versions. I tried both the green sauce and the red sauce and I think I like the red salsa a little bit more because it had more heat obviously. But the green sauce was also very good as it had that nice tangy taste to it. The ambiance could use a little work. It's a little sterile feeling inside with all of the fluorescent lights. I think with different lighting it would make the setting look a little bit nicer. They did have two different songs playing at the same time which was a little bit weird and distracting. But other than that, everything was great. I love that this place is walking distance from my house and I plan to come here a lot more often.

We were at Petco and saw this new taqueria. Of course we had to try it. As soon as we walked in, they greeted us. When they took our order, the cashier was super friendly and accommodating with our order. We waited about 5-10 minutes for our food. The food was delicious. My only suggestion is less chorizo on the pambazo and more potatoes. I was so surprised that the place was busy. People kept coming in and out ordering and taking food to go. It's awesome how this place is new yet it's so busy. This is actually a great taqueria and probably became my go to. The service was excellent, the place was clean, they bring you salsas, and are so accommodating towards their customers. No complaints and I'm so happy we have them gem in our town. 5 stars for the employees who were working too.

Corn tamale

Fairly new casual Mexican restaurant in a large plaza Signage can be confusing since they took over a previous space that says "morgan hill grill". Clean, comfortable dining area. Could probably get cramped if lunch or dinner rush, but I assume it's mostly take out here. Menu is extensive, but has all of the basics and includes some non standard fare you wouldn't expect locally like SoCal SD "California" style burritos with French fries. Service is friendly and attentive. They took special attention to our kids and gave us multiple plates and silverware without us even having to ask. They even offered to slice up our food so they could share. Food was great. Free chips and salsas were very good. Chips were fresh! Avocado salsa was my favorite. We got a Super Burrito with chicken. Chicken was plentiful and very moist and delicious. Normally my gripe is that burritos are overstuffed with rice, or maybe beans, but this one had such a great ratio of all the ingredients. In addition, also got a Super Taco with Al pastor, which was very good, a little greasy, but this is what I'd expect for al pastor. Loved that the super taco also had mountains of other toppings and not just the meat. We also got a corn tamale which was packed with sweet corn flavor, it was gone in a few seconds. When we are in morgan hill this would be one place we'd return to again.

Quesadilla

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars since I keep reading rave reviews about it. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good for me as the other people. I ordered a burrito with carnitas and the burrito would have been great but the carnitas was either just overcooked (burned to a crisp) or left in the warm pot too long and some pieces I ate were very hard to chew through! My husband ordered some tacos and tamales. The tacos were good but the tamales were excellent! I would go back just for the tamales! The tamales had the right amount of masa to meat (some tamales have a ton of masa and barely any meat) and the meat was flavorful too. Our daughter ordered a quesadilla with meat (forgot what type) and said it was fine. I'm sure we will try it again and hope it was just an off day when we went.

Al pastor quesadilla

I got an Al pastor quesadilla and Al pastor burrito and a kids cheese quesadilla. $40+ bucks later I got some very mediocre al pastor. It did not have a lot of flavor, although the salsas were tasty. The Bay area is rife with Mexican food. So, if it's not impressive I don't want to go

Stopped by to check this out with 2 of my brothers as it had some good reviews. The out side really doesn't look like much and is very easy to miss if you're not looking for it. The inside is a little small but not to bad, there is a long glass counter where you can watch them do their cooking and overhead they have a modern call to order video screen as well as traditional over head menus. I ordered a large mango and a special order breakfast burrito with cheese, chorizo, potatoes, and bacon . They bring you some chips to the table with 3 sauces in squeeze bottle " not to be confused with salsa or pico de gallo" 2 green and one red. The Mango drink tastes nothing like mango at all (2 stars) The breakfast burrito was actually really good but it was super, I mean Super oily, I mean like it was literally pouring out of the bottom of the burrito! "(3 stars ) also I could not really see any potatoes, it looked more like eggs & chorizo. The service was good (4stars) IMO they are worth another visit ;-)

Note that the sign outside has not been updated. Drove by and walked by this restaurant once before, realizing it was the Taqueria.

Every meal we've had has been cooked perfectly, and the portions are generous. One of the best things is the value. This review is specifically for Carla H. as a waitress on 6/19/2026 from 6-7:30pm…read more We live in the area and this is our go to restaurant for Mexican food if we want to sit down especially after a long day of work. The food is great and we enjoy the ambiance and environment. We have had Carla 3 times in the times that we have been there. Moving forward, when we do go there, we will request another waiter/waitress in the event she is assigned to us. The first time, we got there before happy hour ended, like 15 minutes before. By the time she came to our table it was just minutes before happy hour ended. I shared that we sat down prior and it took some time before she came to take our order. On any other occasion, the other waitors/waitresses were able to accommodate us with no problem. We are not trying to work the system, but we're talking minutes. The second time, it was a time delay in service: checking in with us on drinks, napkins, and check. When my husband suggested this place to eat for dinner, I was hoping we didn't have Carla as our waitress. Today, we did and I was hoping that her services would be a lot better than the past two times. We gave our order: Kids cheese quesadilla with just rice with lemonade Kids chicken quesadilla with just refried beans with lemonade Baja fish with refried beans and rice Chicken echilada with refried beans and rice My husband and I just had water and we asked for lemonade. The entire time we were there, we were not once checked on. We saw all other waitresses/waitors checking on their tables multiple times. We had to flag down staff bussing tables to ask for more chips and get more drinks. Mind you it's me, my husband, and my two kids 3 and 7. It's unfortunate because my kids drank their drinks fast and did not have their own set of napkins to begin with. She also did not get our order right. There were no lemons in our water and our son who ordered the chicken quesadilla only had a cheese quesadilla. Our son didn't have a problem with it, but had Carla checked on us, we would've brought it to her attention. We noticed she spent a long time chatting with an elderly couple when we were ready to go and waiting for our check. At this point, I took my boys out with me in the car since they were fidgety and ready to get dessert elsewhere. I passed by her as she spoke to the elderly couple and tried to make eye contact, and she ignored me. My husband was left at the table to pay the bill. I shared with him to make sure to bring up the cheese quesadilla. Of course, when she brought the bill, she charged for the chicken quesadilla. She tried to explain to my husband the order, but she didn't have it right when she tried to explain which son had what. She goes back and changes the bill and my husband has to wait again for her to return to pay for the bill. My husband very kindly shared that the service was horrible and we were not tended to with drinks and napkins. We had to resort to getting service from staff bussing tables. She shared with my husband, "You didn't go up to the front desk," and "the other staff are supposed to check on you." My husband shared that we watched all the other waiters and waitresses tending to their customers and we were note. Carla continued to ask, "Is this your first time here?" My husband responded, "We've come here a few times." Carla responds, "Yes, I've seen you and your family here." Carla definitely lacks in customer services and basic reciprocal conversation skills. Business Manager Ana ~ I hope you take this review seriously, because I've been on yelp a very long time and very few times I have written negative reviews. This time, I couldn't hold my breath and not say something about Carla. She needs to have a refresher on what her roles and responsibilities are as a Waitress. I will still continue to visit La Hacienda, but the next time I am there with my family and Carla is our waitress, I will request not to be seated at the tables she is assigned to. Never have I ever felt so disrespected with the lack of service by a particular waitress. I would be happy to continue this conversation Business Manager Ana to discuss further about my horrible experience.
